Mediocre food and poor service. The salad was plain, steak was chewy and the flan was nothing special. The worst part was the service. I asked the hostess where the restroom was when we arrived, and she replied, "I'll tell you in little while." Well, after she sat us down, she still didn't bother to tell me where the restroom is. We asked for an extra plate twice before receiving one, and our server forgot our tea was steeping so by the time we received the tea pot, the tea was over-steeped and bitter. Would give a zero if I could. Sat down for dinner reservations at 4. (The only people in restaurant). The waiter stated he was new, had only been there 2 weeks. He was very pleasant, but not able to explain the plates on the menu??? We ordered our appetizer and dinners, around 4:15. We sat for 45 minutes (after he had taken the plates for appetizers).... my boyfriend had to go in and ask for dinners? (Mind you, we are still the ONLY people in the restaurant). He brought out within 5 minutes-- stated the plates were "VERY HOT" and to be careful. Lol. The plates were not hot- in fact, they were cold. We were starving and had to be somewhere (plus no one came to check on us?) so we ate the meal... and halfway through a gentleman (another server) came and asked how it was- we told him cold. Then a "manager" came out... after we ate almost the whole meal and asked if we wanted it remade. We said no, due to our plans. I told her we expected her to compensate for this experience- she offered a drink? Lol (we were not drinking). Not sure how a drink compensated for $60 plates of cold food. She disappeared and we sat with empty dirty plates without her returning to mitigate the problem. When I went back in to ask for her they said "they would find her and tell her to come to table." She finally came back and gave check with 25% off. And asked where she disappeared to while we sat with a dirty table. I told her this is unacceptable. 25% is nothing after this terrible service. She then rolled her eyes.. and said fine, 50% is all I can do. My boyfriend and I frequently go out to 5 star restaurants. We never expect to have these encounters. And if service isn't ideal, at a BARE minimum-- we'd expect to have it dealt with appropriately. Never returning to this place. It's a shame L'ermitage would dilute their brand by having this kind of service in their restaurant. read more

I GOT SICK from the food there. I ate at Avec Nous twice (only because I needed a quick bite before going back to my hotel room) and both times I felt ill afterwards. Apparently I'm not the only one who got sick from their food because another hotel guest confirmed to me that "The restaurant is empty for a reason!" The restaurant was eerily empty both times I ate there. I WAS THE ONLY GUEST IN THE ENTIRE PLACE!!!! So uncomfortable..... Both meals were flavorless, took decades to come out, and were paired with absentee rude blunt service! For the prices that's unacceptable! I believe I felt ill afterwards because the food is stale and old. I believe since the restaurant has ZERO patrons the hotel is trying to save money by not keeping up on their food orders. The food you're eating is most likely expired because the hotel is trying to save money. Obviously I don't know this for a fact but it's a theory. Came here for dinner before seeing a show at the Wallis, which is walking distance, and had a great experience. When we entered the restaurant at 6PM we were the only ones, but by the end of the meal, it was getting to be more full. It's at the bottom of a hotel so I doubt it'll ever see that much traffic/be hard to get a table at. Echoing a lot of the reviews here, the duck breast was maybe the best duck breast I've ever had. Extremely tender and flavorful without being too gamy. Fat was rendered perfectly and wasn't greasy at all. The carrots were super tasty too -- I think they must have been roasted in some kind of stock because they were extremely savory (although maybe a tad too salty for my taste) Prices are on par for restaurants with similar ambience. The duck was $29. Not sure if I'll be back (cause there are so many restaurants to try!) but I had a good experience -- food and service were great. read more

Stopped by this very quaint and amazing spot on edge of Bevelry Hills located inside of the L'Ermitage Hotel! Started off with fresh squeezed orange juice and delicious latte!! Then had their soup and entree lunch special and had an amazing chilled roasted red pepper gazpacho with flavor in every bite!! Then we their grilled fish of the day made incredibly with a really tasty ginger sauce!! Then the wifie had the Avec nous lamb burger which was ordered medium but probably would have been perfect at medium rare or rare but the flavor was spot on! The sauces on everything was so amazing!! And finally I just wanted to stress that they most likely have the BEST croissant in the US!! No joke...it's so similar to Parisian croissants with the extremely crisp sound with every bite or tearing off of a piece, mix it with incredible strawberry jam and it's just perfect!! Service as expected here is impeccable from the tone of speech to the presentation to even the picture taking, all could not be better!! Cannot wait to try here for dinner next time! read more

A friend and I came here for lunch. They were offering the Dine LA menu, but I decided to order from the regular lunch menu, while my friend ordered from the Dine LA menu. They are located inside a hotel, which has valet parking. And here is the best part, it's complimentary if you dine at the restaurant! For someone who is dreary of Beverly Hills parking situation, this is a god sent! We shared a lobster flatbread, which was light yet flavorful. My Lyonnaise salad was alright, no surprises and no disappointment. My friend's steak frites, however, was perfectly tender and exactly medium. For desert, we had the Mille-Feuille and the Amaretto Floating Island. While the Mille-Feuille was rich and velvet, the Amaretto was unlike anything I have had. I thought the egg white meringue would taste like cotton candy, but it was even lighter, like slightly sweetened air. It is the most ephemeral desert I have ever had. The interiors are bright, chic and modern. Service is prompt and attentive. The waitress even offered to take the Amaretto off the check if we didn't like it, but there is no hiding the fact we loved it. I think this might now be my default spot in Beverly Hills. read more

Strange... my original review somehow got deleted? Either way Avec Nous is a classy restaurant with excellent service and food. Whenever my mom and I come here, we order the salmon, chicken, or parmesan pasta w/ a poached egg. All of these dishes are always prepared to perfection. I want to commend Michael and Joe for their incredible service. They both went above and beyond to make my family's dining experience wonderful. Even though the restaurant is located inside of The Viceroy L'Erimtage hotel, you can still eat here even if you're not a guest. Went to Avec Nous for Christmas Eve dinner. The service was great but their christmas set menu was very bland. The only dish that was decent was their beef wellington. This could have been the worst dining experience I've had in LA. We waited for 12 minutes before the hostess set down her water pitcher to seat us, we waited another 1 hour and 13 minutes before the bread came out. It took another 30 minutes after 1.3 hours to get our appetizers (my flat bread was stone cold and inedible). Finally dinner comes out, my steak was so "well done" that I could have used it as shoe soles. The lamb my friend had was good but consisted only of two small pieces. While the waiter was nice and all, he ran around the dining room like a wild chicken forgetting orders (obviously), constantly interrupting the table conversation, and making a mockery of the food service industry. Between 3-4 stars rating based on food and their menu selection. However costumer services were really good that made our dining experiences very joyful. Reservation is recommended. We came for a birthday celebration, services were attentive and knowing that we were here for the celebration, they let us enjoy our time/food there without rushing you out. It was kind of slow on a Saturday evening, not many businesses. Food/dishes came out quite slow and since food choices weren't that many ; we tried out most of the item on the menu: flathead (just average) , chef choice of charcuterie and cheese (good), beef tartare (too chunky, So so), pasta (home/house made, really good)....Etc Food is good. Be aware that this restaurant appears to not be able to handle large parties? We seated at 13 and after 4 hours orders were not correct. When frustrations grew among the party the tool that the manager chose to resolve his mistakes was to call security on us. Keep in mind we were peaceful, enjoying the beautiful view and trying to enjoy the experience. I'm hoping this was a off night and it's not common practice to not ask patrons if they'd like more to drink? To ignore patrons when they request condiments? To require patrons to come to the service area to get needed items for the table? To get almost every check wrong? To flat out refuse to come back to the table to address concerns "because we're serving other families" I'm hoping that this is not common practice and if it's not then what happened here? I actually had another patron from another party notice what was going on and came over to me and apologize. Is this dining profiling? Although the manager ended up compensating us for half of the meals, we would have preferred better service as the food was delicious. read more

I recently visited this place with some coworkers for dinner and drinks with one of our business partners. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed how quiet and stylish the place is. Since the restaurant is inside the Viceroy Hotel the surrounding area harbors a lot of upscale shops and apartment buildings, as well as other high end swanky cafes. When we first walked in, there were only a few people enjoying a drink next to the bar. I really loved the ambiance, not only because of elegant design touches and very Frenchesque feel but because the space was not overcrowded and perfect for an official business gathering. We ordered our drinks right away and this where my 5 star rating, immediately turned to a 4. The bartender took our orders and then just disappeared like she was a ghost. This may sound funny to some but the woman actually never came back I don't think...and she took our drink orders with her. We were seated shortly after and assured that our drinks would be coming right away. We did not receive our drinks (our party was small, only 6 people) for another 20 min. I didn't mind waiting since we were busy conversing and looking over the menu, however it was a bit annoying since we were hoping to enjoy a cocktail before we had to place our food orders. I should note that the staff (although polite and accommodating) was not in line with the expensive feel of the restaurant. Our server seemed a bit snooty and annoyed, even though we were an easy group! I always make sure to say thank you and be polite to the wait staff but this man didn't even care. He also cut one of my coworkers off at one point. She tried to order one more drink because she was really interested in an exotic cocktail and he rudely suggested that she already had something else coming. One of our partners ordered steak frites and he switched her order with someone else on the table so she had to politely ask him for her side that was forgotten. He seemed really annoyed at this request (his facial expressions kind of said it all) but nevertheless his cold demeanor did not reflect poorly on our incredible dining experience. The food was perfectly cooked and filled with flavor! We ordered escargot, oysters, foie gras, assorted cheese plate and medium rare sliders...oh my goodness! The escargot was a true French experience, and the pesto sauce was cooked to perfection. For the entree, we decided to order individual plates and share. I order the duck breast and has never been more satisfied. The meat was tender and juicy and all around the best meat dish on the table (according to one of my coworkers). The lamb chops were our of this world! The meat didn't taste too lamby and tiny bit sweet and tender. My supervisor ordered Sea Bass which was cooked to crisp perfection. I think our taste buds exploded in the best way possible. Highly recommend any of the meat and fish here! The dessert was ok. We got a complimentary tasting bowl of assorted sugarfina candies but the Amoretto floating island as well as chocolate-caramel wafer tower were too sweet and not that memorable. The lemon, mango, raspberry sorbet was my favorite! Refreshing and fruity with the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, the food was extra impressive, the location was especially nice, and the wait staff is a bit on the slow side. But for a great Parisian food experience I say this is a definite go! read more

Extremely disappointing. The two of us each ordered the escargot from the "secret menu" and had really been looking forward to it based on other reviews. Unfortunately it was covered in so much pesto we couldn't taste the escargot at all. Ordered a second round of "extra dirty vodka martini" and instead received a gin martini straight up with a lemon twist. Called the server back over, after several minutes of watching for her (watching for her or any server became an all-night thing), and she told us the bartender went on break so the manager was making drinks and didn't know what she was making. Correct martini was shortly brought to replace the wrong one. Entrees arrived and we had no forks, as they were taken with our app plates. Took several minutes to hail another server to get us forks. There were bread plates and butter knives on the table the whole time but we never received either. The bouillabaisse was pretty good. Steak Frittes was not. Steak was very tough and slightly over the medium rare that I'd ordered. Fries were best part of the meal. Check came, gave the server credit card and a gift card. She brought back the credit card and bill for the full amount; did not deduct the gift card. After several minutes we hailed another server who apologized and took the bill back. After several more minutes the server brought the bill back which was reduced by the amount of the gift card, but said the manager "had to leave to go buy something" so she couldn't really use the gift card but they'd figure that out later and I could just sign the bill for the balance due minus the gift card. All in all, would never return. For the location and price, the food and service were substantially subpar. The bar area seemed nice, and the hotel is excellent. We'd have been better off just grabbing a drink at the bar and going anywhere else for a good dining experience. read more

Went here for mother's day late lunch with my mom, sister and our kids. We were a total of 6 adults and 2 kids. Quite honestly I can't say enough about the friendliness and service from everyone from the host to the waiters and our waitress. The best restaurant staff I've met, they were great with our kids despite them screaming their little heads off, making a mess, doing toddler stuff. The perfect place to spend mother's day, it wasn't over packed, the restaurant is beautiful and the overall ambiance was classy. The food was great, they offered buffet for the starters and the entree was served fresh from the kitched. I had the halibut, my sister had the prawns, my husband had the steak and my mom had the eggplant dish- they were all delicous, perfectly cooked. Serving both breakfast and dinner, the challenge of providing accessible cuisine to hotel guests as well as elegant plates to gourmands something Chef Quignon undoubtedly encountered during a stint in New York with Daniel Boulud, it was with deference to the Kitchen that a nine-plate degustation unfolded under the careful watch of Hotel Manager Nicholas Rimedio and aside from one overcooked scallop the cuisine was mostly remarkable while also trending far lighter than most. Not the sort of property to cut corners, a Mixology and Beverage Program developed through relationships rooted in Chicago under former heads of Alinea and Charlie Trotter, it was with housemade baguette slices plus a French 75 spritzed in Absinthe that the evening got started and soon receiving a small sample of handcrafted Charcuterie one can tell Chef Quignon is passionate about his craft, the Rillettes and cured Duck shining stars of the board as too were classic Wild Escargot served plump and hefty with garlic from a scalding hot slotted plate. Acknowledging that most of the plates sent to the table were portioned down for tasting, the $32 list for Scallops usually netting three U-10s, the first served to me unfortunately showed up during a rush that saw service team scrambling and was thus delayed, over-cooked and dropped off without description - a mere mention of the issues seeing another arrive just one course later that was virtually raw beneath the exterior and thus prepared 'just right' besides broccoli given an English makeover and a rice cracker with Squid Ink. Abruptly veering back to his French roots with a flawless Roasted Chicken Breast served with a few tender potato dumplings plus Hen of the Wood Mushrooms and Leeks atop Onions sautéed till clear but not yet caramelized, Chef Olivier smartly followed such richness with a well-sourced plate of cheeses highlighted by Crottin de Chavignol and blocks of Quince Jam. Having honed in on the Japanese Coldbrew system en route to the restrooms, those favoring boldness in their brew are encouraged to partake and although Avec Nous' dessert menu is a bit small for my preferences the concept of executing a few things perfectly instead of the "buckshot" approach is embraced here just as it is with savories, the Mille-Feuille a shattering chocolate version while the meringue is made ethereal via hot steam before being floated tableside in housemade Amaretto Crème Anglaise. Ending several evenings with a cart of imported candies that include boozy truffles as well as watermelon "Sugar Lips" that are bound to make one pucker up, a quick trip through the kitchen shows Quignon and his team to be working in a spotless Modern environment, the Chef already hard at work planning what will thrill guests next. read more

Food delicious but service terrible. it was 2 of us.we order 1 cold appetizer(tartar) 3 hot appetizers (soup escargo and mussels) and 1 main course(scalops) (everything to share) all our food came at the same time.so we were not able to enjoy the dishes as envisioned by the chef.the server should have been more sensitive and aware of how send out the food.we had to ask for the wine bottle to be put on the table because wine service was non existent.to top things of the music was turned off and we had yet to finish dining it says that they serve until 11 pm but music was turned off at 10.35 urging us to leave. read more

I'm really only compelled to write reviews when the experience is amazing or the experience is very poor. This was the absolute worst dining experience of my life. This place was completely empty on a Saturday night. And for good reason. I really don't believe that anyone who wasn't influenced by this place could give it 5 stars. I honestly don't even know how they are open. Except for maybe doing room service for unsuspecting victims of their food... Here was our experience. Our waitress was a middle aged blonde but I don't remember her name. She was the worst waitress I've ever had, including at counter service. It took her 30 minutes to come over to us and another 30 minutes to get our drinks. We asked for bread. Another 10 minutes. When the food came literally an hour and a half after we sat down (there were maybe three other tables of people), it wasn't edible for two reasons. 1. I got pasta and the "sauce" literally tasted like water. But like gross, second day after the rain puddle water. I wish I was exaggerating. And 2. There was a longggggg hair in it that I noticed after the second bite. We would have loved to have told the waitress, but of course she was nowhere to be found. We asked the busboy to get her saying there was hair in the food and it was not good and we just wanted the check. She came by about ten minutes after we told the bus boy and she tried to seem surprised that we wanted the check. I'm sure she wanted to act at one point in her life and so she tried out her chops on us. Stick to your day job which also needs improvement. She said she would get us the check. We literally didn't see her AGAIN for twenty minutes. So we walked up to the bar and asked the bartender for the check. The waitress flew over and started profusely apologizing. How ironic that the one time she tried to be nice and apologetic for her many errors was right before we tipped. This was only the second time in my life that I didn't leave a tip. The other time was when a waiter threw our plates on our table and got fired on the spot. In terms of how those two severs influenced our experiences, they are at the same level. Anyway she only comped the hair entree, not my dining partner's entree even though he didn't touch it. We were eager to get out of there and left. Never to return again. read more

Beautiful location with stunning decor - check. Waitstaff and food service - superb. Happy and full friends - yup. We booked Avec Nous not knowing what to expect. The other reviews and online pictures portray an ultra chic lounge type environment and in person, it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself was absolutely gorgeous. I actually don't think the pictures online do the place justice. Food wise, the menu is French. In my opinion, the appetizers fell a little short of my expectations, but the main course and desserts were wonderful. In pairs we ordered Cote de beef, a Branzino (I believe a special for the night), and a cauliflower. I ate the Cote de beef and cauliflower and both were amazing. The piece of sea bass I stole was equally delicious. For dessert we got the Amarreto floating island (super light and blissful) and the candy cart. Joking that the candy cart was a 5 second free for all was a highlight of the night. In actuality, you get to sample 1-2 of the many candies they have on the cart. Overall, very happy with our experience, the decor, and service. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back again. read more

Staff recommended the Purple Reign to start. So fun! Lots of flavor but still bright and chill. Next my go to at any French bistro....escargot! They didn't disappoint! Tender and buttery with just enough garlic. I felt guilty not ordering the traditional thanksgiving meal but so many options lured me away. Almost had the Halibut, the sea bass with fennel sounded great as did the mussels. I ended with steak frittes..needed comfort food and found it! Of course the Bordeaux was perfect. I couldn't finish my meal but so wanted a sweet. They shared an interesting array of confections mixing rums and scotch with chocolates and champagne with gummy bears. Even had sweet/sour options. We came her two Sunday's ago for my mothers birthday. The restaurant was surprisingly quite and empty. The staff was professional and attentive and the food was good. I ordered the grilled cauliflower and it's my new favorite food... top five at least. I'm going to need to learn how to make this at home. For appetizer we had the charcuterie plate it had three kinds of cured meat in three piles... that's it. I really wish it had more of a variety maybe some pickles or pate. A delicate taste of France. The restaurant is quite and very romantic, it is elegantly dressed, and the staff are all there to make sure your dinning experience is one to remember. Each dish is filled with many wonderful favors. I highly recommend the Charcuterie Degustation to start. Even if you don't like mustard, you should try theirs. Im not a fan of Escargot, however theirs is delicious. The Cote De Boeuf is by far their gem, a definite must. A-MAZING!!! Great job on the transformation. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting. The standouts of the evening were the tuna crudo with passion fruit sauce, the golden beet soup, scallops with a tapioca squid ink chip garnish and the table side cauliflower which was cooked to perfection and well presented. The piece de resistance was the floating island for dessert! Other highlights were the welcome champagne cart, creative cocktails and the candy cart. Extremely disappointed- the menu changed and removed some of the more interesting items - the Foie Gras with the orange caramel is gone. The service was painfully slow. The Floating Island with Amaretto cream desert was the only redeeming factor (still amazing). read more
