I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled given the huge disappointment of my recent experience. Diners beware. We were a party of 12 so we spent a pretty penny on this dinner. The service and ambiance were excellent which helped gain an extra star. The food, not so much. The bread rolls were good but soaked in butter. The hamachi was decent. The ceasar salad was mediocre at best. The mushroom and sautéed corn were over salted. The hasselback potatoes and cauliflower were edible. But hard to enjoy when majority of your meal was overpowered by salt. I asked for medium rare on my bone-in filet mignon and had to send it back because it was overcooked. The second one came over salted, rare inside (deep red in color not pink) and burnt on the outside. Unfortunately, the quality of the steak was not up to par for a fancy steakhouse. read more

The rib eye, filet mignon, mac and cheese, crème brûlée corn, fried shrimp and sauté shrimp was predictable bliss. I was sad I forgot to order the black peppercorn sauce!!! Had a phenomenal experience being my first time at Steak 48. Just went for a random date night during the week, and everything was fantastic. Ambience of the restaurant is obviously very upscale, but the vibe was more relaxed with the friendly staff and the upbeat and fun music. Cary was our server and he was the best. Extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and he just made sure we were happy at all times. My partner has Celiac disease, so Cary was very knowledgeable about what items were gluten free, or could/couldn't be made gluten free. The food was amazing as well. Had the ribeye and my partner got the filet mignon, and we shared a salad and some side dishes as well. Everything was cooked to perfection. Don't even get me started on the dinner rolls. The house bread they start you off with is super good, very buttery but tasty, and will definitely fill you up so I recommend only eating one The 48 Caesar with the poached egg was great, with the perfect amount of dressing. They brought it out pre-split into two plates, which was super nice - they did this for the steak too. The filet mignon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. For sides we got the crispy fries, sautéed mushrooms, and shells and cheese. All were fantastic although we definitely could've ordered one less side. We were here for my husband's birthday and they give you any dessert on the house. Thought this was nice, especially since most places have a set dessert for birthdays/celebrations. We got the key lime pie, which is massive!!!, and was the perfect amount of lime-yness. There's a parking lot next door which is $15 max. Entrance is from S Bedford Dr. The restaurant also has valet. We have just been to Ocean 48 a couple of weeks before to celebrate our anniversary and now trying Steak 48. But this time to celebrate a birthday. We loved Ocean 48 and we loved Steak 48 too! We enjoyed almost everything that we ordered, except for the Au Gratin Potatoes. It was still good but perhaps something we won't be ordering next time . We really enjoyed the Bone-In Ribeye 22oz which was cooked to perfection! The Pacifc Yellowtail Hamachi was so good as well! The Creamy Mac & Cheese was surprisingly good! We also enjoyed the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Also one of our faves, the free bread that comes in the mini cast iron. Flaky/crispy outside but soft and buttery inside! They also give a free cookie per person. The service is very good. And the ambience is nice and cozy. Large place but like Ocean 48 in Newport, they section them off so each area still feels cozy! I decided to come here because the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card has a $150 credit for certain restaurants and this was one of the ones on the list--and even though I live about an hour away, it looked like the food would be delicious. Everyone was impeccably dressed, which added to the upscale and elegant atmosphere inside. We ordered NY strip, petit fillet mignon, loaded baked potato and creamy spinach artichoke, and everything was absolutely excellent--easily one of the best steaks I've had among many high-end restaurants. The quality and flavor really stood out. A surprising highlight was their cinnamon roll dessert--unique, not overly sweet, and definitely my favorite! I celebrated my birthday at Steak 48 in late December and let me tell you... this was a full on treat yo'self experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed, celebrated, and taken care of all evening!!! My server, Denis, was incredible. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and dialed in on making sure I had the best meal. I started with a spectacular mocktail (always appreciated) and immediately fell in love with the warm bread which was so dangerously good I nearly filled up from the bread alone! For my entree, I went all in with the 45-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye, cooked medium-rare/rare, and it was truly divine due to it being rich, tender, and perfectly cooked. For sides, I ordered the corn creme brulee (which was both unexpected and amazing) and, at Denis's recommendation, the crispy Hasselback potato, which was absolute perfection. I needed a to-go box (obviously) though I was devastated that the choice cream cheese sauce didn't get packed up with it (a small tragedy). Since they knew it was my birthday, I was treated to a complimentary dessert, and I chose the red velvet bread pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal. It's a lost art and when a place is able to do that, you know that it's adequately staffed and that the owners actually care about their brand. And that's how your place becomes a fan favorite. The first thing that caught my eye was their wine list. This is the 2nd restaurant I've been to where their by the glass options are exceptional imho. Johnnie server is freaking amazing so attentive! Felipe was nice and available. From the time we walked in the service was unmatched. We were greeted although our entire party was not present we were seated and offered beverages. The manager I forgot his name was filled with great energy. We also ordered the calamari appetizer, cream, spinach, the table ordered bacon, which came hanging and just dripping with goodness. I don't really eat bacon, but I tried a little piece. The table ordered steak, which I don't really eat. I got the Sea bass crusted with Parmesan. It was cooked very well, I think I was just seafood-ed out. The service is exceptional, but what do you expect for a restaurant in Beverly Hills. Our server was amazing. I forgot his name, but he was Greek, and he made the dining experience just so much better because of his cherry attitude and jokes, he told us, he made us laugh. I've never been to a restaurant where they literally squeegee the table of crumbs. Took my partner here for Valentine's Day and honestly, this was our fourth or fifth time at Steak 48, and somehow it keeps getting better. At this point I feel like I should just set up a mailing address here because it genuinely feels like home. Toni took care of us the whole night and made everything so smooth. Then for dessert we got the red velvet banana pudding, which is exactly as amazing as it sounds. The vibe is stunning but still welcoming, making the whole experience feel elevated. The steak was fantastic, cooked to perfection, and the sides were just as impressive. My favorites were the corn crème brûlée, the blistered shishito peppers, and all the different potato options (hasselback, whipped, baked, au gratin) - super hard to choose between which to order! I made reservations for my parents' wedding anniversary and, needless to say, everything was excellent from start to finish and far exceeded any expectations I could have had for the night. Kara had our table beautifully decorated with an anniversary gift for my parents, accompanied by red rose petals and complimentary champagne so we could toast to the special occasion. As if that wasn't thoughtful enough, our waitress, Zohra, made our night and dining experience even more memorable. Zohra is a 10/10, 5-star MVP of a waitress and a true customer service expert. Not only is her personality pleasant, welcoming, and friendly, but her attention to detail is impeccable. She gave us a helpful rundown of the menu and provided thoughtful recommendations and suggestions, which we truly appreciated. She made me and my family feel seen and special -- especially my parents on their celebration. Super excited to finally try this place after hearing so many great things and it absolutely lived up to the hype! First off, I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and checking their dress code before going. When I pulled up to the valet, I saw a gentleman in a Nike tracksuit get turned away by security, which I honestly appreciated, it showed they take their classy, upscale atmosphere seriously. Once inside, we checked in and were seated right away. From the very start, the service was flawless. One of the gentlemen assisting our lead waiter greeted us immediately, asked if we preferred sparkling or flat water, and brought out their signature bread, which was super tasty. Our lead waiter then came by with the menu and wine/cocktail list, giving great recommendations. We wanted to make sure we had room for everything, and I'm glad we did because every dish was phenomenal. For starters, we had the heirloom tomato topped with crab meat, avocado, and pesto, and the beet salad, which they kindly split onto two plates for us to share. My wife ordered the oysters, which were spectacular. For our main course, we went with the 22-ounce aged ribeye, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. We followed our waiter's suggestion to go just a touch over medium-rare since the steak continues to cook slightly on the hot platter as it's brought to the table. Excellent call! We were also celebrating my wife's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond. They surprised her with a handwritten birthday card and even brought out a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate. Such a thoughtful and personal touch that truly made the night unforgettable. From the elegant ambience to the attentive service and incredible food, everything about this place was top-notch. I honestly can't wait to go back.
