Every dish I've had at Lococos (5times) has been fabulous. I had the Veal Marsala. Their veal is extremely tender. My friend had the chicken piccata she said it was out of this world. My husband had the veal Saltimboca and he was very happy with his choice. Our friend John had the Papardelle Cuincialle, which is boar. It was very authentic and not gamey at all. The super Tuscan wine did not disappoint . when we shared a salad, the portions were surprisingly big. And finally, we shared the gelato Choco latte with hazelnuts . absolutely delicious. This place is authentic and delivers great food consistently. Did I mention the service Johnny was our waiter. He was fabulous. efficient, yet open to sharing and answering any questions we had. The owner Joe is fantastic. The ambience at Lococos makes you feel like you are in a little Italian café in New York City or San Francisco. Not sure if this was just an off night, especially considering this place has so many great reviews. We were seated immediately, but it took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. My husband ordered a beer, I ordered a soda, and we placed our food order at the same time. We ordered a pasta dish and a steak with fries. We finished our drinks before the food arrived, which took about 35-40 minutes. During that time, no one checked on us or offered drink refills. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service. The pasta was overly salty and lacked any other flavor. The steak was ordered medium but arrived well done. Before leaving, we ordered a dessert to go, and the portion was surprisingly tiny for the price. I wish I could give this restaurant a better rating, but it truly deserves no more than one star. We were seated promptly, and the food arrived promptly as well. Everything seemed to be going well until we brought my two kids with us. Since they don't have a kids' menu, we decided to order a pasta for them and split it. We were pleasantly surprised when they split it for us upon receiving the food. However, when we received the bill, we noticed a charge for splitting the meal. We had forgotten to read the full menu, but the charge was clearly visible in black and white. The most insulting part of the experience was our server, Miguel. When we questioned the split charge, he claimed that it was the owner's decision and that we should not complain. Instead of addressing our concerns, he decided to pull out five dollars from his pocket and put it on the table. This was incredibly rude and disrespectful from an employee. We were not arguing over the four dollars; we simply had a question about the charge. We will never return to this restaurant and would never recommend it to friends or family. How have I lived in Sonoma county my whole life and never been to LoCoco's????? This place is such a hidden gem! We decided to come here for my Birthday dinner a few weeks ago. Myself, husband and 2 young kids. I'm always hesitant to go eat somewhere nice with my kids but LoCoco's is very family oriented and my kids were so good. They sat us upstairs which was fun for my kids (they love stairs for whatever reason lol). Such a cool little cozy spot! They served bread and olive oil to start, Yum! We got the beef carpaccio for appetizer and it was wonderful. I had a few glasses of house white with dinner. I got the orichette pasta with sausage and my husband got salmon dish. Kids got pesto pasta. All our food was top notch! Delicious! No complaints. Portions are huge!!! We got dessert of course!!! husband got tiramisu (he's a tiramisu snob and this was one of his favorites), I got the chocolate cake with ice cream!! They came and sang me happy birthday in Italian. It was wonderful!!! Our server was one of the best servers I've ever had. I wish I could remember her name. You can really tell the staff and regular customers are all a big family. Our favorite place for pasta in Sonoma area! We always make a stop here, for the great food and stellar service. The waiters are always charming and funny and make our night better. More of a lively, family cozy vibe, and it feels authentic and not pretentious. Always packed on weekends so make a reservation! Our go-to orders are the 4 cheese pasta and bucatini amatriciana. Lococo's decor is so cute! I absolutely love the vibe, lighting, and overall mood of the place. It feels warm and aesthetic, perfect for a night out. The service, however, was a little slow. They weren't busy when we first arrived, but it did get busier later, which I understand can slow things down. What was frustrating was that when I asked other staff members for our check because our server was unavailable, no one else could bring it. It seems like only your assigned server can assist you. Even when we wanted to add to our order, or asked for certain things they had to track down our server instead of helping directly. It didn't feel like there was much teamwork, so if your server is tied up at another table, you just have to wait and that's what happened to us. The food was okay. My friend enjoyed her meal, but I think my risotto may have been overcooked. The rice was quite mushy and lacked the slight bite in the center that risotto usually has. It felt more like rice cooked in a rice cooker with seafood broth and toppings added on top, rather than a traditionally prepared risotto. Overall, it was an okay experience. Four of us went here Tuesday night and the food and service were great despite the place being packed; unusual for the night after MLK day. The one knock on the place is when it is busy it is beyond loud; difficult to hold a conversation but, again, the staff was on point. Caesar Salads are good and huge though they charge extra for anchovies which is odd. Sharing is likely a good idea, in fact all the portions were so large they were each more than enough for two. The very good Calamari appetizer was more than enough for four. As they provide bread with nice Tapenade the appetizer was not needed. The Pasta ( De Mare special, (Pasta with seafood) the PAPPARDELLE CON CINGHIALE Pappardelle with housemade, wild boar sausage, and Cremini mushrooms) and Osso Buco were all excellent. Needless to say there was no room for anything else and all had another meal to take home for the next day. This is one of the best restaurants, my parents and I have ever eaten in. The wait staff was absolutely incredible They were patient and kind. I am disabled and they gave me fantastic accommodations with a cushion on my chair. The entrées were beyond incredible. The appetizers were just as incredible as the service continually through the whole experience. My parents and I with their friends joining and Howard have visited this restaurant over the years six times and it is one of our most favorite places to go to enjoy a family meal. Nice place in Railroad Square. We have never eaten here before, a, took my son here for his birthday. He is a cook and a foodie and this is where he chose. Nice family-style atmosphere and vibe. We had a 5 pm reservation as we did not want the crowds. We asked to be seated upstairs and initially had it to ourselves. It filled up later during our service. My son ordered the special, which was a Lasagna Bolognese. Wow, everyone at the table thought it was great! They should have it on the menu all the time. It was all the flavors you want in a homemade lasagna, but better. It was nicely layered with ricotta, meat sauce, cheeses and a rich overall taste. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, and it had great flavor. The eggplant was just firm enough, and the sauce made the dish. My wife had the spicy fettuccini Gambari dish with prawns. The taste was just spicy enough to enjoy, but it did not distract from the other flavors. It tasted good, but you can't dress up fettuccine very well. My son's girlfriend ordered the Petite Filet off the specials menu, and it was done to perfection, as long as you like it medium-rare. I mean anything more than medium is just jerky. It had great flavor and was very tender. We were all too full to order dessert, and I was able to take home my rigatoni pasta that came with the eggplant and added the leftover spicy fettuccini sauce, which tasted great the next day. I was looking for a restaurant in the railroad square district and stumbled on this place. I was wondering why this place was really popular, and it also was also rather highly rated on Yelp. I would recommend making a reservation for this place as it is really popular. Unfortunately, I did not make a reservation and decided to wait for over an hour for a table (but I didn't mind since I was in no rush). The place was so busy that even some people who had reservations needed to wait for an available table to open up. After being seated, we ordered the: 1. Linguine Alle Vongole: I saw a lot of people ordering this dish, and I'm glad I followed suit. The dish was nicely balanced with a good salty flavor with a sufficient amount of clams. You can get as much Parmesan on top of it as you want. Also, I was sitting towards the front of the restaurant and a couple of people asked me what I ordered as they walked past my table. 2. Pappardelle Cinghiale: The noodles had a nice texture and the meat was a nice salty complement to this dish. 3. Tiramisu: The tiramisu was not overly sweet and was a great way to end the meal especially after having salty entrees. The staff was really sweet and provided me with great recommendations when I had questions. Also, they were rather attentive to make sure we were well taken care of. The place has a rustic feel with tiles and wood accents that give it a warm feel. I will note that this place does get very loud, so there were times I was raising my voice to speak to other people. So soft and buttery. The ambience was really tough - on a random Friday evening in April - not a holiday weekend - it was so loud you could not hear yourself think, let alone carry on a conversation. The waiting customers kept leaving the door - we were near the front and they were hanging over us. There was nowhere for them to stand. So, besides shouting at each other, we froze. I'd been traveling for hours, stopped in Santa Rosa, and my hotel check-in clerk lit up with a HUGE SMILE when I asked "where can I get a decent pasta meal?" "It's practically across the street," she said. No lie. I walked it. I was a tad bit ahead of the dinner rush, solo diner, no reservation, but was seated when I whispered to the host, "I'll be quick. I just want to eat some great pasta, and then take a little walk, and then sleep for hours." I ordered the ravioli which came with a magnificent marinara sauce that complemented the puffs, didn't overwhelm them. I'm tellin' ya, it was sublime and the perfect portion size. The bread and oil/vinegar service was lovely and my requested butter was delivered without batting an eye. I declined a salad to start, hydrated with plenty of water, and left after 25 minutes one happy traveler. Can't wait to hit up Santa Rosa again in my travels. KEEPER! This is an interesting, old school "red sauce" style Italian joint in downtown Santa Rosa that's worth stopping in to visit! We came in on a very busy weeknight for dinner. Our server was helpful and informative. The menu was filled with the typical, old school "NY" red sauce styled food. The items we chose were really good... sauce included! Their shrimp scampi entrée was beautiful and tasty! The shrimp was decent in it, though a couple pieces were slightly over-cooked. The potatoes were tasty and not dry. Their Spicy Rigatoni Vodka was really good and filling, though not spicy at all. Save room for dessert, they have a nice frozen Limoncello that's pretty tasty! Our food was fantastic and our server was amazing. The reason for the one star is because of one of the servers, Johnny. While I was sitting at my table, he found it prudent and appropriate to visit a table behind me and begin to go on a loud and obnoxious tirade about how proud he was to be a trump supporter and how hilarious he thinks liberals are. He went into a winded anecdote about how his friends who are liberal are stupid, mocking a woman who claimed to be pro choice, and that this administration is something he's so proud of supporting. With the social and political climate being what it is, it really is a shame that this establishment--while always providing a delicious experience, is soured by such a preventable action by a seemingly experienced employee. My wife is Latina so what is currently going on in January of 2026 is especially sensitive to her and by an extent me. This behavior was reckless and beyond inappropriate for anyone who doesn't share the same beliefs in morality, and in objective reality of what is currently going on. I hope that this can be addressed and be handled efficiently. It really sucks to not be able to go here anymore as we both love supporting local businesses. read more
