I ordered the day before for an early morning pick-up and they called to verify with me 20 minutes before. I believe everything is made from scratch because the cook was still working on my order when I arrived at the scheduled time. The pancake is chewy and there's a good portion of porks inside. The sauce and flavoring is not too heavy. Of course, the cucumber on the side is a nice refreshing touch. The service is fair. The store is small and cozy. They do not serve any warm drinks and no longer sell sliced bread. They're open at 7 am, so it's a nice early breakfast place in town. read more

I always come here for breakfast when in town. Looks like the menu got streamlined so slightly less selection than before. The toasts and egg pancakes are still here! Tried their wintermelon juice and brought back flavors only experienced back in Taiwan. While slightly sweeter than desired even with the less sweet selection, the stroll down memory lane was worth it. My husband and I were driving down to San Diego for lunch, but we got hungry so we decided to stop here on the way. It's such a cute little spot! The cafe is located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. We tried their house BBQ pork toast, original egg pancake, and wintermelon old fashion black tea. The toast didn't meet expectations, unfortunately -- the bread itself was dry, and there wasn't much flavor in the pork. The egg pancake was yummy! Texture was good and the sauce was slightly sweet and full of flavor. The wintermelon black tea was too sweet, even though we asked for less sweet (I'm normally a 50% sweet but typically try a 75% sweet drink when first visiting a boba place), but the boba texture was perfectly chewy. Terrible service and an unacceptable lack of accountability. We drove 45 minutes out of our way after calling ahead at 1:00 PM because online ordering was disabled. The staff specifically instructed us on the phone to come in within 10 minutes and place our order in person before 1:30 PM. However, when we arrived at 1:10 PM, the employee completely went back on his word, claiming the kitchen was closed and no new orders were being accepted. To make matters worse, he actually tried to gaslight us by claiming it was a "miscommunication." This is entirely false--the phone call was on speakerphone in the car, and everyone with me clearly heard him say to come in and order in 10 minutes. If they had simply been honest during our call, we could have saved so much time. It felt like the staff simply wanted to shut down early and shirk their responsibilities rather than provide basic customer service. Management seriously needs to reevaluate their team and communication standards. read more

The texture of the egg pancakes are a bit bouncy (QQ) and soft, opposed to a crispy/flakey skin. It comes with lightly pickled sliced cucumbers (not sour), and a sweet soy sauce glaze. Personally, I found the glaze way too sweet, and I think it would be much more tasty with a savory flavor. You can customize the egg pancakes to include different meats, basil, cheese, etc. They also have a series of bento dishes, toast/sandwiches, gyozas, and drinks. I have tried the Tustin location before and I preferred it more than this Chino Hills location. My friends ordered various egg pancakes, drinks, gyozas, and two different bento boxes (that they definitely regretted ordering). There's compact parking in a spacious plaza, clean bathrooms, and a kiosk to self order. There's seating indoors but slightly limited, so I'd caution against bringing a huge party. read more

I tried this place today and was very disappointed. Not up to expectations of what good Taiwanese breakfast should be. The black pepper beef rice was more onion than beef. It was bland and definitely could use more soy sauce. The pickled cucumbers that came with it were not bad. The Basil BBQ Pork Dan Bing had an extremely thin layer of egg and barely any basil flavor. I guess the sweet sauce they put on top was supposed to enhance the taste... but it didn't help. The House Nabeyaki soup noodle had an odd flavor to it. We threw the whole thing away. Do not order. Your typical Taiwanese bento with rice, meat (in this case, pork belly), tea egg, and veggies. There wasn't anything super special about this one, but it was definitely filling. House BBQ Pork Egg Pancake. Okay, I have had dreams about this thing. It is SO flavorful and delicious and savory with a hint of sweetness and just amazing. Slightly crispy, slightly soft green onion pancake fried with egg all wrapped around juicy and tender pieces of BBQ pork. I mean, it really doesn't get any better than that. Old-Fashioned Black Tea with Milk. Basically a milk tea, but the old-fashioned "grandpa style" means that the tea is brewed directly with tea leaves and water without bags or filters or with a certain ratio of leaves to water. It was tasty and had great tea flavor, but I wouldn't have known the difference between this and another quality milk tea in the way that it's brewed. Black Sesame Soy Milk. First time coming here and indoor decor was nice. I heard about this place from a few friends and decided to check it out. Two stars definitely for the food. We ordered the E2 Taiwan egg pancakes$8 and R2 pork belly rice $15 around. The egg pancake was definitely worth the price and taste was spout on Taiwanese. I also got their freshly made soy milk but it had a char flavor which isn't like your typical traditional soy milk. Must have been something wrong during the soybean extraction process. Staff not friendly at all. We came in to order and they didn't even greet us and all they did was pint to the iPad so that we can order ourselves. Pretty much zero customer contact. In fact there were a few customers that came in behind us that ordered their toast and asked for it to be cut it half and the half owner said that they can do it but for an extra fee. There were many raised brows after that comment. Then what's worse is the other customer that came a few minutes afterwards and ordered a winter melon drink to be spilt into two cups because her daughters didn't want to share. Again the half owner said there would be a charge for the splitting fee as well as extra cup fee. This customer gave good feed back to this half owner stating that other boba places don't even charge for a fee etc but this half owner said it's their company policy. We knew this lady was a half owner because she said so herself but she also added a statement that even as half owner she still cannot override the additional fee. Goodness. To be honest if you are a store half owner you should have the power to make changes and waive the fee. Plus it's the holidays. I doubt today's customers will be back again. The store itself was clean, but service consists of you putting in your order on an iPad and getting your drinks handed to you, that's it. My first time trying out this place since it's right across my office. I was recommended their Blackpepper beef rice. I also tried their signature milk tea. The inside kinda small but they also have outdoor seating. Super clean place, hand sanitizers at each table and as soon as you walk in, there's another one. It's seems they specialize a lot on breakfast items and they have a variety of boba drinks. The service was great and very patient with me as I was not too sure what to order. Super friendly as well. Now the moment of truth... the food was delicious. Beef was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the white rice I never have complaints on and also included cabbage and cucumbers which for my taste I added a little bit of salt but again how it was already could be good for others. What I thought was a baked potato ended up being a hard boiled egg lmbo (yes I know you're probably laughing but that's seriously what I thought it was) anywho it was good as well only that for my taste it just needed a little bit more salt. Trying L'uxweet for the first time in quite a while. 4.5 stars. I don't give 5 stars easily. I walked in and was greeted in a friendly manner. As usual, i test the basic drinks first. I ordered the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea. The drink was brought out to me...not expected or needed but definitely appreciated. The workers were all masked. In addition to drinks, the menu includes Taiwanese style breakfast items, including toast, noodles, egg pancakes, and more. I did not try any this time. The decor is quite nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It could make a good hangout. Unfortunately, the place closes in mid-afternoon. I'm hoping to find a boba hang out place that is open late on Friday nights (after midnight...maybe a wish from my days hanging out in the SGV). The Oolong MT drink is solid. I asked for less ice and less sugar, and those were both done well. Next time, i will try it with een less sugar. I would like to have a bit more tea flavor in the drink. The egg pudding is slightly softer than average but well within the delicious range. Will def have to return to try some of the other menu items. What would have made it better? 1. Local trucker here. I've had their pork toast sandwich from their other location in Tustin. It was really good. This time I came to this Chino location. I wanted to try their other stuff. So I got the egg and pork pancake and the pork belly bao. Oh. My. Goodness! Soooo delicious. Everything must have been made fresh and I appreciate that. The egg pancake was so flavorful and the pork in it was a little sweet and sour. The pork belly was sooo tender. I really enjoyed it. Yay so glad L'uxweet finally expanded to there second location back near by hometown. This location is inside the strip mall off Chino Hills Pkway and Pipeline. A few stores down from Noodology/Star bucks side. If you've been to the original location in Tustin you know all about this place! They specialize in the Taiwanese onion pancake dishes made popular for breakfast but now available for brunch. Yes this place only opens in the morning from 7-3 on weekdays! Weekends they open from 7-7pm. Be aware! No this isn't 100% authentic Taiwanese and no these aren't cheap Taiwan night market prices. But yes this is marketed towards the US market with US prices. There menu consists of a few categories; egg pancakes, baos, rice bentos, sandwiches, noodles and your drinks. Starting with the must try items are definitely all in the egg pancakes. For sure the BBQ pork egg pancake: Taiwanese style Egg Pancake with green onion, egg, house soy sauce, cucumber. If you love BBQ pork and you love egg pancake this is your ish! For your baos the signature Pork Bao is just classic. You have your thick braised soy pork belly in a bao bun served with cilantro and sour pickles. Yep a pork bao is suppose to have a super fatty cut of pork belly just like mom makes at home. For drinks i'd honestly this isn't the place to go if you're looking for amazing milk tea/ teas.
