Thai Chicken with brown rice (Jasmine rice comes with it). I wanted the brown rice and it was $1 more. Thai Chicken

I ordered the Thai Chicken with brown rice. It was delicious. The chicken was tender and moist. The rice was not lumpy at all. I didn't wait very long and the service was very good. It was my first time here and I highly recommend this place. The price was average and the serving size was just enough for me.

They enjoyed it. My dad had a ice tea. I got the pad woonsen witj beef chicken and pork. They tried it. It was very good . Highly recommend it had rice noodles. And I had a Dr pepper. Its a costly little Restaurant. The staff was professional and polite they even made sure for my parents Anniversary they had vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. Amazing delicious food! Best in all of San Diego, not just Ramona. The ambience is perfect and authentic. Everyone is welcoming and so friendly. The service is also wonderful. Great experience every time for the whole family!

This place has great Thai food. Fresh vegetables. Friendly servers. Efficient service. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. I get take out about twice a month here and it's always good. A great addition to Ramona

This is our second visit to La Basil and it was just as good as the first! Excellent service, and the interior is a clean cozy vibe. The food tastes fresh and is delivered hot and delicious. The chicken wings were so crispy, not breaded, just the skin and it was crunchy good. The potstickers were also perfectly cooked. You must try this place you'll love it!!

Tried the Kua Kling rice bowl with ground pork. It was delicious and had a nice spice level. Perfect amount for lunch. Really enjoyed it

HOLY BASIL, That's good! Authentic Thai Food that speaks for itself. The ambience is relaxed, the staff is friendly and attentive with warm smiles. As a Farang that's been lucky to visit Thailand, I would put LA Basil Food up there with best Thai restaurants. A hidden gem in Ramona that we'd be wise to keep. Dining in was great and the Singha Beer cold, but I was equally as impressed with how easy and fast takeout through the web worked out. Try them, you won't be disappointed. If you are, it's probably just you...

The place is very relaxing. There is soft music and good lighting. The hot ginger tea was great. I ordered a chicken pad thai. The portion was good. There was a decent amount of chicken and it was hot. I asked for some spice since I didn't ask for any. The spice dish brought to me was empty of chili sauce unfortunately. The pad thai itself was somewhat bland. There was an underlying boxed taste to it I couldn't figure out. Like either the sauce or noodles had absorbed a cardboard taste from packaging? Not the best thai in Ramona but not terrible either.

Visited 6/6/2025 I had high hopes for this place and waited to see what others thought before I visited. Not many were giving any yelp reviews so I walked in cold for information from locals. I decided to try just appetizers for my first visit and they had a nice selection on the menus. First they have fixed the inside up nice although I could do without the boring music that after awhile gets on your nerves. The single staff member I met was nice and pleasant and willing to help with whatever we needed. First, I ordered The Appetizer Sampler. $18.00 It says Spring Rolls but we're Chicken Fried Egg Rolls. They were not bad but could have used more filling inside. Good Taste. Also Chicken Satay On a Stick. Flavored nicely but a bit overcooked and dry. Next Cream Cheese Won Ton's. Nice and crispy with a nice flavor. Lastly The Pot Stickers. Best item on the sampler plate. The Three Dipping Sauces were great for Dipping. We also got an order of The Tempura Shrimp $14.00 the shrimp were ok but not amazing. Crispy outside and not overcooked on the inside. And An order of The Crispy Calamari. $14.00 My review is strictly for the things we got to sample and maybe the regular dishes they serve deserves more stars. Nothing stood out as special. For me it was disappointing and I'm not sure I'll be back. Food was subpar and overpriced for what was served. There is better Thai Food in Ramona to be enjoyed. Still I wish them the best.

I was incredibly excited to check out Ramona's newest restaurant recently, La Basil Thai Cuisine! Upon entering I was immediately struck by how stunning the place is. They really did a great job. It no longer has the funeral home vibe that Mamma Rosa's once had. There was ample staff on deck that were all welcoming, genuine and thoughtful. They seemed really interested in feedback and continuous improvement. While they have their licensing in place for adult beverages, their distribution channel is not yet pressurized so I settled for water. Comes in an artful carafe and empty glasses with no ice. For an appetizer my son and I shared an order of Cream Cheese Wontons. The wontons were very tasty and beautifully presented. Most of them did seem to be lacking any discernable amount of cream cheese however. I could have still eaten about three plates of them. For main dishes, my son ordered the Panang Curry and he enjoyed it although prefers the Pinto version which he considers the gold standard. I ordered the Krapao Ground Chicken which is not on the menu at Pinto and I've been wanting to try it. Made with stir fried ground chicken, garlic, chili and basil leaves over rice. Such a delicious dish that I would highly recommend. Most Thai restaurants use an arbitrary numerical scale of spice level when ordering. Usually 0-5 or 1-10 or something like that. Here it is simply mild, medium or spicy hot. Overall this is a real nice establishment with fantastic potential. The vibe is decidedly more intimate than Pinto, perfect for a date night. Nice music in the background too piped through a seemingly high quality sound system. I wish them all the best and great success! Will be returning soon.

Food was very good and they have all the Thai restaurant staples. Spice level is 1 - 3. Intimate ambiance. Soft background piano music and good decor. Service was great. Very nice and professional servers and attentive checking if we needed anything. Kitchen staff offered to stay late when we came in soon before closing (they used to be closed Sundays but we saw the open sign and came in to check - they've been doing 3-8pm on Sundays the past couple weeks).

La Basil Thai Cuisine is the best Thai food in Ramona. First, the staff are super friendly and welcoming. The service is always spot on. Second, the food is fantastic. My family and I have been to the restaurant several times and the food is always amazing. Third, the price is just right. My favorite plate so far is the Krapao Chicken Bowl. It's stir fried ground chicken with garlic, chili, and basil leaves and a fried egg. The plate is a little spicy, but it's so worth the burn. The spicy noodles, pad thai and garlic pepper chicken are all fantastic too. My wife also loved the thai chicken, which had a great flavor to it. The restaurant is right off of the 67 in Ramona, on 11th Street. There's always plenty of parking and the service is very fast. We're always eating within 15-20 minutes after being seated. The restaurant itself is very neat and feels intimate. Overall, I can't recommend La Basil enough. Please give them a try. You won't regret it...

Everything was delicious. The wontons and chicken wings were crispy. The shrimp spring rolls, papaya salad, pad thai, and pineapple shrimp fried rice were flavorful. We like the decor and the friendly service.

The chicken is insanely crisp on the outside, juicy and clean on the inside--not greasy, not heavy, just done right. The kind of crunch that actually means something. The slaw brings freshness and balance, the bun is soft but holds up, and every bite feels intentional. But what really sets this place apart is the sourcing. Everything is local. You're not eating some mass-produced, freezer-to-fryer shortcut--you're eating ingredients that came from nearby farms, raised and prepared with care. That shows up in the flavor, the texture, and honestly how you feel after. It hits that rare sweet spot: indulgent, but still clean. Even the fries--simple, crispy, not drowning in oil--feel like they belong next to it, not just an afterthought. This is what food should be. Real ingredients, done well, no corners cut. Comfort food that doesn't leave you wrecked. Local. Thoughtful. Straight up dialed.

First of all, the generous portions of meat are so tasty, lean, and tender. The meats were on a huge pile of the most delicious yellow rice I've ever had. Ever. Rice is usually just a nice side dish. But this rice was so moist and extra delicious! I don't know what they do to make it taste so good. The meat and rice had delicious house-made tzatziki heavily drizzled across it. All plates come with a fresh, crispy side salad, also a generous portion, and even a side of yummy hummus! And my personal favorite was included: sour pickle spears sliced thin. Oh yum!! The portions are so large that Both my husband and I only ate half our plates at lunch and each had a full dinner with the leftovers. I can't speak for their other foods like pizza and calzones. But authentic Mediterranean is our favorite food, and Sofie's is one of the best we've had. We make a point to eat it a few times a month, always looking for new places. We live about an hour from here, but If we go back to the area we'll be heading right to Sofie's. My only regret is not taking photos to show how amazing it all looked when they serve it. I ordered one kind of on a whim, and wow -- it totally exceeded my expectations. The crust was perfect, the sauce had that rich, homemade flavor, and the whole thing came together beautifully. It was a little smaller than I imagined, but honestly the taste made up for it completely. The place itself is small, super clean, and tucked away in a little strip mall -- kind of easy to miss if you don't know it's there. The staff isn't overly chatty, but you can tell they care about their work and run a tight, organized kitchen. The bright, casual vibe makes it an easy spot to sit down and enjoy your meal without any fuss. If you're in Ramona, SOFI's Pita is definitely worth a stop for lunch or a quick bite. Whether you go for the Mediterranean dishes or try the pizza (which I highly recommend), you'll leave happy. Hidden gem for sure!

I was greeted by a Ms. P, the server, who helped me with the menu and offered suggestions. She was very attentive and provided Superior Service. I ordered: Thai Ice Tea with boba pearls, Pad Thai with beef and tom yum flavor sauce (similar to sweet and sour but not as sweet). Everything was made to order and perfectly cooked. The beef was of a great quality and tender. The noodles were perfect and the Thai Ice Tea was one of the best I've experienced. The boba pearls were house made and you could really tell. I finished with Ice Cream (9 flavors available) that was non dairy, real fruit flavoring and coconut sugar for sweetness. It was really high end quality. This establishment is family owned and operated, The chef, Ms. P, really had outstanding attitudes, which was evident from the service and food quality. I had heard great things about this place, which makes it even more disappointing. The only positive was the quaint country ambiance, including a nice old mural on the wall. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Sunday morning, so that's understandable and not part of my rating. The food, however, was inedible. I should note here that I came in quite hungry and with a specific hankering for a greasy chicken fried steak and eggs, so I was in a very easy to please state. I ordered the eggs "over medium," and the eggs came out with raw, runny whites and were also cold. The toast didn't arrive until 5-10 minutes later, so everything just sat there getting colder. The "steak" was mostly fat and gristle. The first couple of bites I ate were gristly but doable with help from the gravy - but the third bite was a giant glob of gristly fat that I couldn't even chew - i spit it out and that's all I ate. The hash browns tasted like frozen unseasoned potatoes with only a patch of sear on the outside while the bulk of it was mushy and pasty and gross. Of the whole meal I basically only ate my toast plus a bite or two of each thing on my plate. I left feeling sick to my stomach. After dropping off the food (and later the delayed toast), our server never checked back. No refills, no follow-up. When she finally returned, she asked to clear my very full, barely touched plate without any acknowledgment. I had to volunteer that the food was inedible. The response was dismissive and rushed, with no effort to understand the issue or make it right. An offhand "sorry about that" was offered while walking away, followed shortly by the $60 bill. The complete lack of accountability and concern was frankly abhorrent. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had, and I won't be back. I would have left hungry except that I was queasy from the gristle and paste.
