When I opened the box there was pools of tomato juice all around the pizza and when I went to pick up a slice of pizza everything slid off the slice because of all the juices. Pizza was very soggy. Extremely disappointed, first, and last visit for sure. We went there planning to have pizza, but we ended up getting something completely different. We should have left immediately after hearing the server says that "it was going to take at least 40 minutes to have pizza but only 10 minutes to have risotto". I want to believe that she was simply confused because 40 minutes should be the cooking time for risotto and 10 minutes for pizza unless the risotto is pre-cooked, and the pizza's man makes the dough from scratch every order. We did not get any bread and only the kids got a glass of water, the adults none. We never got silverware and napkins (I had to steal them from other tables), and the server never came back to check if we would like to order another drink. The gnocchi tricolore had three diverse types of soggy sauce: alfredo (it was decent) pesto sauce (tasted like it came from a jar) and marinara sauce (not really, it was the pizza tomatoes sauce) The pasta cacio and pepe was flavorless, just overcooked boiled pasta with nothing on it. Cacio and pepe is made with only three ingredients: pecorino Romano cheese, black pepper, and pasta (plus the starchy water from cooking the pasta) so I do not know how they could not get it right. The tortellini with alfredo sauce were decent. I had chicken Bella Luna, and it was good. It has a good mix of flavors, but the portion was very small for a $ 25 chicken dish. Unfortunately, we had to eat what we got because it was 8:30 at night and we were all starving. The service was equally disappointing. The website said the business closed at 10pm. I called to place a pickup order at 9:28pm and the young girl working said their kitchen closed at 9:30pm but we were "too late to place an order". She was very rude and after I brought up the time stated time online for their closing, she said "thank you have a good night" and hung up on me. This is no way to operate a business. If your website says you close at 10pm then you should take orders at 9:28 pm. We have been patrons of this restaurant for many years and I am disappointed in how this employee treated us. Got lunch delivery from La Bella Luna on Friday and went with the fettuccine alfredo ($10) with chicken added on for $3 more. It came with a really nice side salad which I gave to a coworker because the meal had this huge chunk of bread that with the addition of the pasta was just too many carbs to handle at once. I barely stayed awake the rest of the afternoon... the price one pays for eating a bunch of noodles! The noodles were decent though the meal could've used a bit more sauce, I get it that a to go plate wouldn't have a lot of alfredo though. The chicken was seasoned wonderfully and it was a decent sized breast piece so no complaints there. The bread was yummy and savory but I have a weakness for breads. My family went to La Bella Luna for a birthday celebration and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing dinner experiences we have had. To begin with the poor service, the server seemed overwhelmed and undertrained. It took over 20 minutes for one person in our party to receive a single glass of wine, and we had to request refills on sodas that had sat empty for 10+ minutes. The restaurant was not busy at the time. I asked for the menus to be taken off the table as appetizers were being served and entrees were ordered, however no one picked them up and we had to bring them back ourselves. After over an hour we all received our entrees which were mediocre at best. We realize that with a larger party the food will take a bit longer, however other tables had gotten through their entire dinner before we received our entrees. The server also informed only a few people at the table there would be a cake cutting fee of 20 dollars, however when the bill came it was 25. The food and value is what drives this review down. - Bruschetta Appetizer - I don't know how to sugar coat this, but this menu item might be the biggest rip off in the history of restaurants. They charge $10 and you get 3 little pieces of crostini and less than 4oz of bruschetta. I thought it was a mistake, so I went back and asked if the serving was an error. The 2 guys at the counter both "sheepishly" told me that it was the correct serving size. You could tell by the hesitation in their response, that this wasn't the first time someone complained about this. See picture for reference, but even that doesn't fully detail how ashamed this restaurant should be for taking $10 for this appetizer. - 12" Prosciutto Arugula Pizza - we weren't all that impressed. Tried this place for the first time few days back. While strolling at Baldwin Park area saw this Italian place with decent reviews. It's a nice cozy restaurant near Lake Baldwin. They have good vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian panini with fries....the panini was really good but the fries were perfect!!! They were hot, crispy and yummy . My friend ordered small veggie Mediterranean pizza...which he really liked. I forgot the name of our waitress...she was nice BUT looked like she was in some kind of hurry, as she kept coming and asking us if we were done and if she could clear out our plates. Devine dish with a yummy creamy pesto sauce and mushrooms are incorporated in the dish. This made it even more satisfying for me because I love mushrooms. The mushrooms are cut in tiny pieces that you can't even taste or feel them. My boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms but this is his favorite dish. The baked ziti rústica is also a good choice and filling. The sausage they cook here is very tasty and flavorful. There signature dish pasta Zola is also a solid choice to get if you want to get different proteins on your pasta. However though it's their signature dish the pesto tortellini is still the best one I have tried so far. Most of the pasta dishes also come with bread and a salad.
