And that's really all I got, but as simple as it might seem horchata really can be hit or miss and this was absolutely a HIT! I didn't actually order any food, but the gentleman I was sitting next to said his burritos was delicious. I cannot personally review the food, but I can say, for finding a random place off the side of the freeway, it is shockingly a good time sipping on a ice cold horchata while taking in the ambiance of a gas station parking lot, from a little fold up table.

The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.

I've traveled a ton for work to Mexico, Central and S.America and nothing anywhere has been so constantly perfect as La Frida. Every dish is prepared with love, it's obvious. Many meals there, never disappointed. I take visitors from out of town, recommend to associates, always rave reviews. Order whatever you can't go wrong, save room for desert. You will probably wait 30-60mins for a table but well worth it. Slip into the tiny bar if there's a seat available when solo. Not a shill, real customer. These folks deserve yet another great review for continuously awesome service and food. Well Done!
