The ladies are so nice at this location, they always remember my mom and myself every time we come in. Yummy salads, soups and mochas. I always order the house salad with dill dressing and a veggie sandwich on wheat. The wheat bread is baked fresh. So good! I love the white iced mocha! Love their Chinese Chicken salad and their Asian noodle salad. I used to be a frequent visitor to the Elk Grove La Bou but ever since moving, we haven't been able to visit. When we came on a rainy day a few weeks ago, we were a little disappointed because there didn't seem to be any available tables. We ordered our food, which was prepared quickly. We then noticed there's an extra dining area in the back with MORE tables (most of which were empty!). My husband LOVES the baguettes and dill dressing. :) Convenient location and friendly employees. I haven't been to a La Bou in years. It was a nice treat to wake up early, get there a bit after they opened and had a great selection of everything. 4 stars because I kind of felt like the lady behind the counter was rushing me (they only had one other customer besides me), so that made no sense. I even told her I haven't been to a La Bou in a while and to give me time. That's my way of saying, "go do something else for a couple of minutes so I can make up my mind". She just stood there behind the counter, watching me and waiting for me to decide. On the plus side, l had a hot croissant with spinach-one of my all time favorite items La Bou makes. Always gotta get to most locations early to get one. I also took a chocolate croissant and raspberry croissant to go, along with a cup of self serve coffee. She bagged my hot croissant with the chocolate croissant-why would you do that? The hot croissant should've been bagged by itself! Ordered through Doordash, food was very sub-par. Bread was had the enticing quality, texture, and taste of cheap styrofoam slathered with ranch dressing. Chicken noodle soup was ok. There was paper in my turkey sandwich. See the picture below. The roast beef sandwich tasted rancid and the cheese was put in a separate bag which was kind of odd. It didn't matter because the sandwich was inedible. The turkey sandwich would've been good except for the paper. Of course I'm not going to eat it now. Then I ordered a cinnamon roll with nuts and I received some sort of pretzel bakery item. I have no idea what it is but it feels hard. I have made this order from door Dash. The drinks were put in a box where they spilled everywhere. I have previously given a review that was five stars but today they definitely did not earn those five stars. I ordered a croissant and coffee... saw that the employee gave my order to someone else. It sat on their table for 5-7 minutes before they noticed I didn't have my food. She walked over to the table that had my egg croissant, picked it up off their table and handed it to me and said oops. No thanks. This place has decent customer service. I usually go to the Folsom La Bou, and this location's prices are noticeably higher. This location also eliminated the option for a half sandwich or a small Thai tea. A Thai tea here costs $4.95, while the large in Folsom costs $3. The quality of sandwich is here is also very poor. They're stingy with the ingredients. For someone getting a veggie sandwich, eating a sandwich with hardly any cucumbers or avocado and a ton of lettuce - it's hardly a lunch. read more

Love this place! I'm in here almost every day lol. My favorites are the spicy Thai chicken soup, the chicken lettuce rolls and the Thai iced teas. But the salads are all also really good! The iced white mocha's are super popular here too. Plus, they're open 7 days a week, do catering and do large party platters! You can also call and place a pick up order if you're super rushed for time. They offer free wi-fi, just gotta ask for the code at the register! read more

I have been going to La Bou locations for over 20 years. we were out and about shopping nearby and decided to stop into this location for a quick lunch. We both got a small chinese chicken salad. The salad was crammed onto a small salad plate with all the dressing sitting on the bottom of the plate. The lettuce was shredded so finely, that it reminded me of coleslaw. The bread tasted nothing like what La Bou's traditonal bread tastes like, it had zero flavor and was fluffy and light ,not typical of sourdough which should be dense and flavorful. It had zero flavor. Even the packets of butter have changed! Obviously,not real butter, it tasted like oil! Another staple that I normally love about La Bou and their bread is the pure butter( this place obviously did not offer that) The peanuts that were placed on the salad were unsalted and of cheap quality. As I watched the cook make the salad, she was opening a cabinet at knee height and throwing the items on the plate from down there. The only thing she grabbed from countertop height was the thinly and I do mean thinly sliced chicken. It was only lunch time and there were no cold items in the display. As i sat at the table and tried to get the dressing onto the salad from the bottom of the plate, I splashed my clean white shirt with little brown dots of dressing ,as I was trying not to push the salad off the plate. I was being very conscious of this task so I was not sitting very close to the table to try and not splash myself, but it happened and I was none to happy. Salad was bland and tasteless and me and my wife both agreed we will never return to that location. I truly hope it was just this location and Labou did not change out their recipes! Great place all around! I don't particularly like their mochas cause I am used to SBs I think... so I get a small coffee and appreciate that they have French Roast, my fave. Today the b.f. and I split a day old (for cheap!) banana bran muffin that rocked! The staff is always friendly and helpful and the store always looks clean. This labou is one of THE poorest managed in the chain! I arrived very early on a Saturday morning and they were already out of ham and cheese croissants. Even worse their scones were AWFUL! Instead of serving the beautiful scones available at most labous they were substituting some awful things that looked like they came from 7-11. VERY SAD... best hidden gem cafe in Rocklin. Staffs are very friendly and they serve a wide variety of foods. I go there for morning coffee to post-workout dinner. Pastries are extremely underrated. The business I work for is located near this La Bou and we order from them a lot (at least 3 times a month). We've never been disappointed by our orders here and the food is always good. My favorites are the house salad with the creamy italian dressing. the asian noodle salad and the tomato soup. We also like to get a baguette with dill dipping sauce. We always order cookies and they throw in one or two free. My only complaint is their chicken is always flavored like teriyaki chicken, so even when ordering a caesar salad, there is a teriyaki flavor in the chicken. read more

I can't really tell what this location is doing to stay afloat during these times as it is not explained on their website, but I normally order to go anyways so as long as they are open I will be in soon. The sandwiches and paninis are always delicious, and their creamy dill dressing is to die for. If I didn't care about my figure I would eat nothing but the French baguette and dill dressing every day! I saw that they added a nutrition and allergens menu to the website which I always appreciate, although I almost wish I hadn't seen the fat content on dill dressing because it is so addicting I can't stop myself from eating it, but regardless I will be back to satisfy my craving for it, and i recommend anyone who hasn't already needs to try it asap! read more

One word: Outstanding If you want a one of a kind sandwich, get the Eggplant sandwich, not just outstanding but one of a kind. Now get the same, great bib lettuce and that dill dressing and you have upgraded from a great sandwich to a great meal. Arrived 30 minutes before closing time, and it looked like they had already shut everything down for the day. I attempted to order a simple item - a house salad with extra avocado. I was told I could not have that because they were getting ready to close. Really? Yeah, I used to be a bartender in a restaurant and nothing sucks more than when someone comes in 30 minutes prior to closing and orders a huge meal. But guess what? I love this La Bou. The staff is super friendly and if you go there on a semi - regular basis they all remember you. I always get the hot ham & cheese croissant in the mornings before work. I've had the hot ham & cheese croissants at other La Bous and they do not compare. I actually like how greasy & crispy they are because it adds a whole different flavor. Best Tomato Bisque in the city and their dill dressing is to die for! A bit pricey but it's worth it !!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It has the best Chinese Chicken Salad. They don't have one down south that I know of so whenever I go to visit I have to get 6 salads to go so I can have them for my entire visit. There are other locations but the one in Granite Bay is horrible in comparison. :) They also have great sandwiches and soups. read more
