Does La Boulangerie even need another glowing review? I feel like everyone knows this is the best place to get pastries in the city. I had never sat inside to eat before and I honestly wish I hadn't now that I've experienced sitting inside of their very chic dining area and how delicious their breakfast sandwiches are - how am I supposed to cope on the days I can't come here! The breakfast sandwich (with no sausage) has redefined what a breakfast sandwich is to me. The baked eggs were so delicious, genuinely every bite I kept saying "oh my god this is so good". And I am wondering if they make their mayonnaise in house because it was soo delicious!! The pastries as always are also amazing, today we got (to-go) a whole wheat boule that was delicious, the cheese straw that was divine, the kouign-amann that was decadent, and the cheddar and chive biscuit which is ADDICTING. If you're looking for a legit French bakery where locals actually hang out, this is it. It's tucked right in the Garden District, surrounded by cute shops and pretty streets that are fun to wander around. The pastry case is seriously stunning, with so many things that look amazing. I loved seeing people working on their laptops while others were just chilling in the little courtyard out back--it kind of feels like a hidden little escape. I got the key lime pie, and wow... I don't even know how to describe it. Easily one of the best desserts I've ever had. My daughter got the chocolate cake, but even though I love chocolate, I kept going back to my own dessert. My husband had the croissant, and it was exactly what you'd want, flaky, buttery, and so good. If you want to get out of the French Quarter and check out a different side of New Orleans, definitely stop by here. Just maybe don't tell too many people... As my hips don't lie. I am a sucker for a bakery, Yall, it doesn't get better than here. We never hit the same spot twice on a NOLA trip because there are so many options. We went two days in a row without guilt. I was in the mood for bougie coffee and told them they didn't have what I wanted the guy figured out a way to make me something fabulous off menu. We got four different items for the first trip and wished we would have gotten ten. The second trip included an everything bagel that would make all other bagels question their life choices. Almost thought this was the same La Boulangerie affiliated from San Francisco and Starbucks (Starbucks bought the company in SF, sold their pastries for a year then closed down the business before moving onto another pastry shop), but it's a separate business. French-inspired cafe with 2 seater tables and outdoor seating. La Boulangerie has plenty of seating and tables, selling pastries, sandwiches, soups, salads, and coffees. Though I was tempted to buy a pastry, I decided to dine in with a croque monsieur and a cold brew. Normally a croque monsieur is an open face sandwich with melted cheese on top to form a crust, but this came out looked like a grilled cheese with ham. I didn't mind as it made it easier for me to eat, but wasn't what I expected. I was recommended this dish from the cashier because I was deciding between the brie & apple grilled cheese and I wanted something savory. Will try the other one next time! My cold brew was mixed with oat milk and oof - it was still so strong! Definitely woke me up for the afternoon. Lots of staff walking around to deliver food/drinks and cleaning up take. A friend brought pastries from La Boulangerie to a meeting last week. They were really good. I decided to check them out today and was quite impressed with the facility. I ordered two almond croissants and two slices of coconut cake. My total, before tip, was a little over $26. I got home and opened the cake boxes and saw that the person who served me short sliced one of the pieces of cake. The cake edges are also dry, maybe from sitting exposed in the case. We're on a road trip and had to stop by a laundry. While waiting for clothes I noticed this bakery across the street. Went in to get a cup of coffee and had my mind blown. Very nicely laid out with a great vibe, lively but you can still carry a conversation. Waitstaff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions. Update: I was conducted by the manager and had a lengthy discussion and feel that he will speak with the staff. It does not change my review of what happened initially, but I did change it from one star to three because I do feel like the manager was responsive and possibly change will be made. I am absolutely astonished at the service and inability to make small changes with food that they claim is prepared fresh . I go there frequently. I'm always found that the food is phenomenal, but I will never go back! I went in and asked for a breakfast sandwich with certain kind of bread (that they sell and had in stock) because of recent dietary restrictions caused by a severe illness, and the cashier was dismissive, rude, didn't offer to help in anyway or offer any suggestions completely shot me down and wouldn't even listen to me when I asked for a breakfast sandwich that is allegedly made fresh to order be on a different type of bread, I then changed my order to something else because I didn't feel like arguing with her and they were out of every other item I wanted. She offered new suggestions or options of things I could do and wouldn't even sell me just two slices of the bread so I can move the breakfast sandwich over to the type of bread I could have..
