Oooooo my goodness! The K Town burger was off the charts. I believe this is the best burger I had so far. Right on the money as the price is right. Love the buns here! LA Burgers has the right combination. It was just amazing for my first time taste. I also ordered the Bugolgi tacos. It was very good too. A little salty but good. Not as memorable as the burger tho. While I was on a food adventure Saturday and eating at Caribbean cafe, I searched to see what was in the area. LA Burger! Ohhh, K fries! Hey, I have the one in Irving book marked. Why not try it while I'm here? and it's just around the corner! There is a 90% chance that my husband would never eat here because he doesn't like Korean, so why the hell not? It's not like I'm full from the cuban food I just had. What was I thinking? I don't know. I ventured over to LA Burger and I'm at the counter and my kids are like "Mom what are we doing here?". Like we just ate mom. I don't know what we are doing here kids. Kim chi fries, kids, kim chi fries. I love kimchi. I love bulgogi. I love shoe string fries. Sounds great too me. I've had carne asada fries recently, so why not try out some kimchi fries! I order the kimchi fries and I'm sitting in the car looking at my to go bag like why did I just order this? I am too full to eat this. Well, it's a 56 minute ride back to Fort Worth, I will probably be hungry in an hour. I only ate half of my vaca frita and got it to go at CC anyway. I didn't look at any of the pictures before I jumped into ordering these k fries. I open the bag and the to go box to see what kim chi fries look like. Wait there is ketchup? Why are they giving my ketchup. I open up the to go box and I see a sauce, fries, little bits of bulgogi, and a little bit of kim chi. I wasn't expecting this sauce. I was expecting more bulgogi and more kim chi and maybe a fermented taste. Ketchup? What do you want me to do with this? Curiosity killed the cat and I just put the ketchup on it and had a taste.. not bad. Actually good. I can't put my finger on what this sauce tastes like, but it is familiar. Too full right now to eat it, but it weirdly all went well together. I got on the PGB turnpike and kept looking over at these fries that I didn't need to order. Trying to watch my figure here. I get to Fort Worth and almost to my house. I'm at this red light that seems to be taking forever to turn green, so I start eating these K fries. These K fries that I like and don't like at the same time. I got my window rolled down and chowing down on these K fries and I didn't notice the poor homeless guy with a sign next to me at the red light that read "Homeless and Hungry" I look over mid bite and I look at this red light. Are you ever going to turn green? Homeless guy: Watcha eating? Me: Kim chi fries! Homeless guy: What the hell is that? Me: Kim chi, fries, a weird sauce, bulgogi, and ketchup Guy: Sounds like something a stoner would eat. It looks good though. Me: Want them?? I have an extra fork.. Guy: His face lights up and takes them. Says thank you and didn't take my extra fork. Dude goes to town on the rest of my K fries with his hand. Glad he enjoyed them because I really didn't need them. Light finally turns green and I go home, drop off kids with grandma, and then go to 24 hour fitness. I expected the k fries to have a more authentic flavor to them. They were different. I liked them, but I didn't. I will definitely have to come back. Honestly, I was disappointed in my experience here. I'm a huge fan of Chi'Lantros in Austin so I was really excited to come and try LA Burger (the original korean-mexican fusion chain that started it all). Came with a group of friends on MLK day and it was pretty empty -- only 2 other groups of people other than us. You order over the counter and it took a while for them to get our orders out (probably like 15-20 minutes). My friend ordered a shake which didn't come out until 30 minutes after we got our orders (after most of us had already finished our meals). The shake was also nothing spectacular (he got the strawberry shortcake shake, which tasted like a watered-down strawberry shake that cost $1.50 more than the normal strawberry shake). I ordered the deji tacos (spicy pork bulgogi tacos) and was pretty happy with my food. The pork is actually pretty spicy (for those of you guys with low spice tolerance) but really good -- much better than beef bulgogi in my opinion. Another one of my friends ordered the LA Burger and I had a bite of it and wasn't very impressed. The fried egg was disappointing (I think they tried to make it easy but failed and it turned out an in-between easy and medium quality where it's kinda gooey but not runny when you cut into it) and the burger was ok -- not really anything super special. Their k-fries are pretty good though and I would recommend them (it's filling enough to be a meal on its own honestly). I wish there was a Chi'Lantros in Dallas because LA Burger just isn't on par in terms of service, food, or atmosphere. read more

For a fast food chain, LA Burger is pretty bomb! Slight warning though: the food here is really heavy. If you're looking for a healthy meal, or aren't too hungry, go somewhere else. Also, prices here are kind of high, but portion sizes are pretty large. LA Burger is a fusion between fast food (burgers, fries) and some essential Korean foods (bulgogi, kimchi). They do a good job of combining these into really hefty dishes that will easily bring you into a food coma. The Seoul dog is a delicious hot dog topped with bulgogi or deji bulgogi and kimchi. Personally, I would have been okay with just the deji bulgogi on it's own - it was super flavorful. The combination with a juicy hot dog makes it a little bit of overkill for me, but it is still delicious. The K-fries are really greasy and end up kind of soggy by the end, so you lose out on some of the 'fries' flavor, but still to die for! The kimchi is the perfect amount so that it doesn't overpower the other flavors. I haven't tried their burger, but my friends say it has a good bun to burger ratio. The LA burger comes with a fried egg as well. Overall, LA Burger is a good spot for a better-than-average fast food experience, or if you don't know if you're craving American or Korean! read more

YES! I am falling in love with this place! LA Burger had been on my bookmark for a while and it was about a perfect time to go try their food. This place has a combination of different types of food in one, which makes it DELICIOUS!!! man oh man! I had Asian tacos with Korean spicy pork, and every bite was incredible! Tortillas taste a little different from normal Mexican tortillas, they were fluffy and sweet! Pork was slightly spicy, sweet taste, and very well-marinated. My friend had Seoul dog...he is a big fan of hot dogs and he LOVED it!! I like the fact that it has a space inside to eat there, and once the food is made it is served at your table. I had the 3 strikes, and it was the best turkey burger I've had. It's much lighter than a traditional burger, but isn't dry or tasteless. OOOH yes, this is a delicious Korean fusion discovery! Living in Austin, a kimchi burger isn't too much of a novel food to me, but the "LA Burger" gives all the ATX Korean fusion burgers a run for their money. First of all, the beef patty was super tender and cooked perfectly: the meat was juicy and still a LITTLE pink, almost medium-rare. This is how a perfect burger should be served. Then, you've got the over-easy fried egg that breaks into a beautiful mess when you bite into it. The kimchi adds a wonderful kick of spice and flavor. The lettuce and tomatoes are crisp and fresh. The buns are buttery and warm. Mmm. This was a good burger. We also ordered a side of K-Fries (Kimchi Fries), and they were pretty good, BUT we agreed that the Kimchi-to-Fries ratio was a bit too large - we finished the ooey, gooey fries but still had a bunch of kimchi left over. I may have accidentally eaten most of the fries, but still - more carbs please. My mouth was burning and my hands were a mess of oil, cheese, and kimchi by the end of the meal, but it was worth it. One of my favorite things on their menu is the Seoul Dog which is like a traditional American hot dog but made BETTER with sauteed kimchi, bulgogi and cheese on top. For those of you who don't know what kimchi is it is spicy pickled cabbage (which aids in digestion) and Bulgogi which is twice marinated Korean beef. Both items are popular in Korean cuisine. The second thing you should try is the classic LA Burger. A traditional cheese burger but with kimchi and a fried egg on top. Pretty darn amazing burger. I'm surprised their base bun is whole wheat, but its still soft as air and grilled, so no complaints. I got a bonsai and my fried got the LA burger. Fried eggs on burgers is always amazing. Add some kimchi and a well seasoned patty with some veg and you're golden. Bonsai is avocado instead of the kimchi and its pretty darn good too. Can't go wrong with any of the selections here. Kimchi fries here are pretty darn good too. The raw onion though I wish they caramelized to take away some of that raw aggressive bite but that punch also compliments the other rich flavors from the meat, sauce and potatoes. I lke this place, but I cant help to think that my experience was underwhelming. I ordered the LA burger, Asian Hoagie with Pork, and K-Fries. The LA Burger was a solid burger, with some asian ingredients on top. I like that the eggs were runny, even though it did make a mess. The bun was also really good texture wise. But the burger did not burst with flavor. If anything, I had to chew slowly to distinguish any flavor outside of the egg and meat. The Asian Hoagie was surprisingly my favorite thing here. The sauce they put on the pork had a great balance between sweet and savory. I would definitely eat that again, K-fries were probably the most underwhelming of the experience. The kimchi was so mild, I couldnt taste it. The cheese was the only thing should out, but then Im just eating cheese fries at that point. I even ordered a nutella nutter butter shake. I thought it was going to be super rich, but if anything it was pretty mild in flavor. I had a good time, but I wouldnt go out of my way to here (nor would I recommend it). I think this is the best burger in the immediate area. I live really close by, so we eat here fairly often. I pretty much stick to the Holy Smokes burger which is a fairly standard bacon, cheese burger with BBQ sauce -- its great and consistent. Their buns really make the burger, I could say that they are like a hearty King's Hawaiian roll - a little bit sweet. The best burger that I've had here is the "LA Burger" its really great, but that fried egg and sauce makes it a bit messy to eat. Tried out LA Burger tonight. My husband and I both got the OG burger, which was pretty good. Juicy and good sauces on the side. You have to order fries separately (tried the curly and string) which were ok. Nothing special. I would goback, but the building was dirty. Ketchup, greasy finger marks on the wall. Dirty floors. And for some reason when you walk past the soda machine, towards the restroom, there is a very unpleasent smell (the actual bathroom did not smell, but definitely could have used a deep cleaning.) what a great burger ! I had the psychedelic burger (basically a mushroom swiss) LA Burger has big square buns.. (I had wheat) slightly toasted.. the beef was excellent and the toppings were extremely fresh. The place has a nice "hip" feel.. with techno type music playing in the background. This place isnt exactly easy to see from the road.. in fact.. the only way I stumbled in was because i saw a BK sign and was driving to it... and saw the LA Burger sign right as a pulled into the BK drivethru... I moved to the DFW area two years ago and am still exploring foodie spots. I've had many disappoints but this was definitely not one of them!! The guys working here are super friendly and welcoming. The whole atmosphere is just very relaxing and casual. Booths/tables on one side, bar area on the other side. Perfect use of space IMO. Now, I'm always cautious of 'sauces' on burgers because I absolutely DESPISE mayo and am not fond of "mayo-based" sauces (I mean, I don't even get spread on my in-n-out burger ), so I asked for the sauces on my burger and fries to be on the side and they were totally cool and accommodating about it. I ordered the West Coast burger, without the sauce and added bacon. This burger was BOMB. But I guess that's because you can't go wrong with a burger that has jalapeños, cheese, and bacon. The bun was nice and toasty and the patty was juicy and filling. But I must say the stand out part of our meal was the K-Fries. Bulgogi, kimchi, grilled onions, and cilantro?!? Gahdamn amazing. Counter-style burger service has never felt so Californian here in the north DFW area. The menu can be overwhelming if you aren't prepared for it. Really great depth of flavors and perfectly cooked meat patty (crispy exterior and juicy interior). They also have one of the best buns out there. I've always heard good things about this place but coming here last night was not impressive at all. We got the LA Burger, the Bonsai, the K-Fries and the Vanilla Shake. The LA Burger was pretty good, it had kimchi, fried egg, and jalapenos. It also had wasabi mayo in it which we didn't expect (and truly not so big a fan of) and they put a loot of it in there. Totally threw us off. The bun was really good, almost made up for the extra wasabi mayo. However, they were really stingy on the jalapenos, it was so barely there we couldnt even taste it. The fried egg was a good addition to it, but halfway through eating this burger, we realized that this is something we can so easily make at home and put the right proportion of toppings on it. The Bonsai was okay, nothing too special that I can't get at most burger joints (besides the wasabi mayo which oddly, they didnt put much of on this burger..) The K-Fries...now THAT was the biggest disappointment of all. I cant remember if it was $6 or $7 of soggy fries topped with mediocre sauce and SPECS of meat.. my gosh, the worst k-fries I have ever had. As we were initially eating it we were talking about how expensive the fries were for not having any meat, only to realize halfway through that there was maybe 5-6 pieces of bulgogi? why in the world did we pay so much for these fries?? Yes there was kimchi on it and yes there was sauce but this was definitely not worth that at all...... These fries do not even nearly compare with Kor-BQ's fries or ssahm fries.. how sad! The Vanilla Shake turned out pretty good if you enjoy McD's ice cream cones because it tastes very similar to that. When we ordered it, the guy at the register asked if we wanted whipped cream on top and we specifically said NO.. and guess what? it came with whipped cream...... whats the point of asking if we're not gonna get what we said we wanted anyways? Setup: Really like the ambience. The outside is definitely understated, but when you walk in the lighting is good and the tones are appropriate. You can definitely tell that they were being economical with the furniture and the interior accents but they have kept it clean and made the eighth decisions on how things look. They have a full service bar which is definitely unique and seems to be well-stocked too. Food: Love the food, amazing portion sizes and is gourmet quality stuff without the extreme premium. Would definitely suggest the K-Fried and and K-burger together. Good balance of flavor. Service: Friendly and prompt. I'm from Houston, so when I realized that this is the place that all my Dallas friends were raving about, I had to try it when I visited. I must say, it was nothing I expected! It's a pretty small/homey restaurant with really fast service. We ordered way too much food for two people... + K-FRIES: were amazing, I've never had them so I can't really compare, was a little salty + LA BURGER: was recommended by the waitress so I tried it! It was a mouthful... With the fried egg, kimchi bits, and huge patty, I couldn't even eat half! But I must say it was an interesting combination of flavor and I enjoyed it! (But I'll stick to my normal burgers hah) + ASIAN TACOS: were so small but it comes in 3! Solji, one of the main cashiers and server, is so very cheery! Not only does her enthusiasm contribute to the overall greatness of LA Burger as a product/service company, but she is very knowledgeable about the menu items and even offered suggestion to us, customers, who weren't sure of what to get! Came here for lunch and tried the Bonzai burger per the staff. My sister also tried the Bonzai, my dad tried the LA Burger with bacon and avocado added, and we shared the K-fries and onion rings. My sister gave the K-fries and Bonzai combo a 4.27/5 while my dad gave the onion rings a 3/5, because it lacked "crunch," and the burger a 3.5/5, noting that it was on the greasy side. This being that he also rates the burgers at Whataburger 4/5, McDonald's 2/5, and Wendy's 3/5. I thought the Bonzai burger was rather juicy and definitely a sizeable meal. I really liked the buns, how they were soft and chewy. Definitely messy to keep together but still good. K-fries were decent. I also liked the layout and quirkness of the joint. Very streamline and clean. If LA Burger were closer to my hometown, I would probably try the Korean tacos as well and the burger switched to bulgogi. We claimed a 10% Yelp coupon and sometimes I see Groupons for LA Burger if you are looking for a discount. Also, using Google Maps with this address takes you too the wrong place (a suburb). Where has this place been my entire life?! For starters, this is the type of food that you find on a food truck. (Compare it to the likes of Chilantro in Austin.) My cousin brought me here as a welcome to Ktown dinner and boy, is he a smart cookie. Between the two of us, we ordered the LA burger, the Soul Frank, and an order of the bulgogi tacos. I ate half of the burger and the hotdog, and one of the tacos and I thought that my belly was going to explode out of contenment. You order at the counter and take a number with you, and your food is delivered to you. It's pretty quick but not fast food quick. Other than that it is self service so you get your own drinks and napkins. No problemo. That burger though... I am usually 'meh' towards egg on my burger but this was well done. The kimchi wasn't overwhelming nor too spicy. It's only been a couple of days but I already can't wait to go back and try the other menu items. read more
