    Pollo Encremado

Really nice little restaurant. Service was very, very fast. They had sports on in the dining room when I got there, but they changed it to music. I would not have minded the sports. The food was really good. I had the pollo encremado. It was really quite lovely. I was a bit nervous because the first jalapeno was super hot, but the cream in the dish was enough to balance it out. If you follow my reviews, you know I will judge you on the refried beans. Great flavor here. Overall a good find for dinner. Enjoy!

Visited La Cantina for the first time on a recent Saturday night. My friend and I arrived around 7:30pm and it was pretty empty. First impression was that the atmosphere could use a little improvement- it's wildly bright and starkly quiet, so really no ambiance at all. Perhaps it feels a little more comfy when the restaurant is full, but that sort of thing stands out in my opinion. Our server brought waters and gave us time to look over the menu. The time was needed because boy do they have tons of options! From tacos, burritos and fajitas, to molcajete, steak dishes, and an array of apps, they've got plenty to pick from. I was craving tacos and my friend recommended the quesabirras. She was right, they were super tasty. The beef birria had so much flavor and I loved the broth for dipping. Some restaurants tend to give those small tacos but these were sizable! I left full and satisfied in the food department. We also split a pitcher of lime margaritas. Can't say I enjoyed those, sadly. It was pretty stark green and really sweet. Personally, I'm not a fan of the pre-mixed margs, and unfortunately this was what that tasted like. Couldn't finish the pitcher. They do however, have huge marg towers I saw another table sharing, which is fun. Maybe the frozen version would be more to enjoy. I wouldn't jump to return here, but also not against giving a place a second chance. We shall see!

I'm so so happy we found this place! The staff was so friendly and the restaurant is decorated with such a fun style. We stopped in for lunch and had amazing food and drinks. I had the Birria plate and my husband had the chimichangas and we were both very pleased with our meal! We will definitely come back soon.

This past weekend some friends and I visited La Cantina and were very impressed. I'm not sure if they've made adjustments since some of these other reviews or what but we were all happy! First, I felt like they did a great job with the renovation. It doesn't give DQ vibes at all. And it was very clean (including the bathrooms which I'm sure they put a lot of work into since the previous owner). We really liked the chips and salsa, the salsa was a little on the runny side but had a lot of flavors and was just a tad spicy which was great (not overwhelming but too spicy for kids). We got a variety of dishes including tacos, enchiladas, flutas, chimichangas, and of course a kids chicken tender with smiley fries (big hit with the little ones). Over all we were all really happy with our meals. Definitely more options and more authentic than the other Mexican restaurant in Cedarburg. You can tell the staff knows what they're doing with their menu items and the tastiness of the food. Our server was great, and food was hot and ready very quickly. We will definitely be back. I only wish for their sake they had a more unique name as I worry people will inevitably end up going to the wrong restaurant.

Had a reservation for 10 of us for a work party. Our server, Arturo, was wonderful! Love the location and design; very spacious! Margarita flight? Delicious, and you get your money's worth of tequila! I got pollo rancheros--queso, beans, rice, chicken, guacamole--everything was mouth-savory good! We live 25 min away, but we'll be back!

The high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams were great. Our group we seated upstairs and it was pretty quiet. Everyone loved what they had. We all mostly got sandwiches/burgers and the various sides were delicious. We really liked the onion rings, potato salad and seasonal veggies. Our server was patient with us when we didn't know what we'd have with both drinks and meals. The team was quick to get our orders out and whisk away used plates/silverware. Would recommend if you're in the area. It was too cold for the patio to be opened yet but we will definitely come back for that in the summer. Great views.

We loved the ambiance, and the service we received was excellent. For starters we ordered the cheese bites and the mushroom "soup of the day" For main course, she had the Short Rib Sandwich and I had the Cedarburg Cranberry Salad with blackened Salmon. For desert, the flourless chocolate cake. The Rib Sandwich and soup were good. (3.5 Stars). The Salad/Salmon were okay (3 stars), and the cake was awful. (Probably put in the microwave for two minutes and then brought to the table) It even looked ugly sitting there on the plate. My drink special was weak. All the customers seemed to be having a good time. The place was lively and it's probably worth a visit for the service and ambiance. However this is not a place to go for good/tasty food based on our experience.

We tried multiple different cocktails, and loved each one. We all enjoyed our dinner entrees, which were beautifully plated. The service was top notch, even offering to take photos for us to remember our fun evening. Their menu appears to rotate often and is somewhat limited, so make sure to check the menu before you go if you are someone with specific food interests. We found the menu to offer multiple things each of us would enjoy. We can't wait to visit again!

The vibe is on point, low lighting, rustic - a versatile spot to go with girlfriends or for a date night. The wait staff is always attentive and informational, providing suggestions when we are looking for guidance on what to choose. This time around I went with a girlfriend and we decided to share a couple apps and an entre. We started with their seasonal burrata that was bursting with flavor. It was both savory and citrusy, a really nice compliment. We did have to order a side of bread with it, so that's one improvement the restaurant could make - bread is a necessity with a cheese dish! Next up we ordered their Mixed Greens Salad which was a perfect light & tangy salad with a little bit of sweetness. Highly recommend. Finally, we shared the seared walleye entree. I pretty much order fish everytime I come here because they cook it to perfection and it's something I can't make at home as easily. The walleye did not disappoint and was so flavorful and enough food for us to share. We ordered the perfect amount to split between the 2 of us. Can't wait to go back, keep up the good work!
