I love the Paella here, food was good, service was good. Only downside was the host stand keeps their back to the door and when they turned around, they both didn't speak English. I walked in to eat and sat down for 15 minutes without a soul coming by to even give us water. Mind you there were only like 4 tables with people so it's not like they're even busy. I was at work, it's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I know there are things I need to be thankful for, because I am blessed; but out of nowhere today, around noon, I started craving that delicious starchy grain - RICE. I asked my co-worker, an older gentleman by the name Seymour, who had the best rice around. His enthused response of "La Carreta" convinced me. We hopped into his mid-sized sedan with full leather interior and headed over to the Miami International Mall: talk about exclusive. The menu is full of Cuban dishes, including fish, chicken, steak, pork, you name it - they got it! After reviewing the menu, I settled on the Vaca Frita. Make no bones about it, when I say settled there was no settling like my step brother did when he married Marjory; this was more of a discovery. I was Columbus finding something no one had ever discovered before, at all, ever. "I'll have the Vaca Frita," I said, and with a wince in my eye followed, "with rice...and black beans." The food was too good to describe. The atmosphere was too inviting to paint in words. And, the service too hospitable to discuss in brief, so I best forgo those talking points. I ordered a second helping of rice (no beans this time, for the sake of my co-workers) as an afternoon snack at the office. My husband is Cuban and his parents make the most amazing Cuban food I have ever had....with that said, this place was delicious! It's hard to find good authentic Cuban food, this restaurant gives fresh and flavorful Cuban food. My favorite was the hot Cuban bread they brought to our table first, I couldn't get enough! I wanted a basket to go! The chicken was nicely seasoned, the cooking wine sauce was terrific, and the black beans were tasty also. The only thing I didn't care for was the Flan. I won't order dessert again, maybe I'll substitute my dessert for more bread :-) Prices are great also!!! read more

This is not as delicious as Havana Rumba back home in Louisville, Kentucky but good nonetheless. I ordered the Surtido De Croquetas which is a variety appetizer with one ham, chicken, beef and fish croquetas - I did not like the fish on at all. It just was not pleasing to my senses. If you are going to get an appetizer, I would recommend the Croquetas De Yu - very tasty. I ordered the Vacca Fritta for my entree which was pretty good. I didn't blow my socks but it was good. My issues. No one speaks English. This restaurant is right by the mall so I assumed... well you know what happens when you assume. I had to point to the dishes I wanted. Just simply getting a dessert menu was challenging. Also the main interior floor plan was very chaotic. Servers were running to each other and I was so close the the tables around me that I could hear everything with no way of blocking them out. If you are going to Miami and only speak English just avoid Doral altogether. Just stay in South Beach or Coral Gables. read more

Place is empty & the brunch table was been prepare for service. Start with orange juice, grids, croissants, small pastries with fillings of cheese, guava, fruits, scramble or fry eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. Adults charge was $10.25 & children $6.25. Service was poor. A lot of our food was cold. The Yuca fries were tepid and dry like they had been sitting under a heat lamp a long time.

Came here on a Saturday night and was very suprised that there was no wait time. The food was really good full of flavour. It was my first time trying Cuban food - I got grilled chicken with rice and beans and it was cooked perfectly. I finished of my dinner with a Cuban espresso and it was super sweet but defiantly worth it. Next time I visit I will defiantly try one of their huge glasses of mojitos! read more

I have no idea why this place has low reviews, but this is like my go to spot when I have a layover in Miami. No matter what terminal I am in I always make my way to La Carreta especially if I have an early morning flight. I've only had breakfast from here and though it's nothing outstanding about this place, the food is good and gets the job done of making me full. The customer service is always great there; they'll bring your tray to a table for you if you're dining in. And my favorite thing is the fact that they have free fountain water. This airport (like most airports) tax on water and I drink a lot of water. So, being able to get some for free is something to note read more

WORST SERVICE in MIAM, very unprofessional and disrespectful. The afternoon manager (Friday 3pm) was not willing to allow our party of 4 to sit at a table for 5. The restaurant at this time was not even half full. Awful manners to tell us that we couldn't sit there, and made worse for not listening one second to allow us to explain why we wanted to use the larger table. We could not believe how a manager can treat customers this poorly. To say that customer service is lacking would be a generous review. I feel sorry for the servers working for this so called manager, who hurled an insult at us and went back to her office/ kitchen as we left. This is no way to operate a traditional Restaurant, one that we frequent quite a bit. Needles to say, we will not be going back. Ever. read more

So disappointed, but what's knew? I always give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but every time I've visited, something goes wrong. I ordered "Arroz Imperial" and received the picture below. It looks like someone had eaten straight out of the bowl, or I had been served leftovers. Not to mention the rice had no cheese...one of the main ingredients when making arroz imperial. When I called the restaurant to voice my displeasure, the woman that answered said I had to specify I wanted cheese on it. Never knew that was a thing...if I didn't want cheese then I would've simply ordered yellow rice with whatever protein...she then stated I had to specify the cheese option online. I went back to the online order menu and there was no option to "specify cheese", perhaps because arroz imperial is already supposed to bring it? Hmm. Anyway, good luck to any one else visiting this restaurant. I hope your food order fairs far better than mine and you are not served leftovers as an entree. read more

I used to love their food. However, it seems like the food is mass produced on a production line, by assembly robots. We are in Miami, they need to step up their game. The bread they give you is usually dry and brittle or very chewy. If you ask for veggies... expect them to out of a frozen bag and nuked for a few minutes. The service is awful. When your server comes, be aware that most are very rude, then be ready to order everything you need, because the chances of seeing them again any time soon... are slim to none. When you call in for take out or delivery, you will be graced, with an incredibly rude person, who does not want to answer questions and wants to get you off the phone as soon as possible. For the quality, I would expect it to be cheaper. If you want better and cheaper Cuban food, go to La Palma. It's a little further away but your taste buds will thank you. read more

This review is for the weekend Breakfast Buffet and not for the regular menu. The breakfast buffet is a good, cheap way of starting your weekends. The service is good. They seat you promptly, although depending on the time you may have to wait. The longest I have waited was probably 10 minutes for a party of 8, which is pretty awesome. Food that is available: pastelitos, croissants, bread, bacon, sausage, ham, empanadas, eggs in all shapes (I hate eggs, so I cant vouch) , fries, french toast, pancakes, rice, fruit, cereal, croquetas, and other things that are "on rotation." Their is a lot to pick from and you can at until you explode. or get a tummy ache. or just until youre full. Cuban toast, cafe con leche and orange juice is brought to your table. Service is usually prompt since its usually "grab a plate and eat" but some days you have to wait for the waitress to bring you the plates so that may take a while. it really depends. Price is very reasonable for a large amount of food. Give it a try. :) read more

Very disappointed with this place. My friends said it was the best Cuban food in Miami but it was the opposite. The food was cold, bland and the presentation was unremarkable. I told the waitress my food was cold, she took it, popped it in the microwave and returned it. Any restaurant that takes pride in their food would prepare a new plate. How I know you ask? The dish with meat had remnants of yellow rice and the yellow rice was still dispersed on my plate and not in a neat circle..... thats a clue people. The service was mediocre as well. Dining outside was nice otherwise, we should have gone to the original location downtown instead. read more
