I would give this place a 5 stars because the food is delicious (pambazos & machete) BUT they screw up my order EVERYTIME. I always ask for carne asada pambazo and I NEVER get a carne asada pambazo! The place is always busy and it can take up to an hour to even get seated and get your food. I usually order over the phone but they don't answer the phone on weekends due to the volume of customers. Servers are mostly nice but this last time I told them they screwed up my order the lady seemed bothered so I was a bit uncomfortable finishing up my food. They definitely need more staff and faster service but other than that I do love and recommend their food. Carne asada machete is delicious and can be shared with 2 people, but if you're very hungry one per person will do. We usually spend 25$ which includes a pamabazo de Asada , a machete half tinga/half asada, two sodas, and French fries. Good deal!! The food is pretty good. My sister raved about this place and it was not hype. The service, however, was bleh. The place was full but it was really small and they had 2 servers working at the same time. It still took what seemed like forever to get my order, though to be fair, the wait to be served once the order was put in was not very long. I ordered a machete with half chicharron and half something else that I don't recall. The portion itself was impressive. The chicharron part was a bit too salty (and I've eaten it fairly frequently during my youth to know). I thought I'd wash it down with a Jarritos soda - it took about as long for the server to get the soda from the fridge and uncap it as it did to get the food. When I ordered a second soda, because the chicharron was so salty, the server just kind of went off and never brought my soda. I finished my meal, salty and with no second soda, before it got cold. When I got the check, the price of the second soda was reflected in the total. If getting a soda took a metaphorical act of Congress, I wasn't going to split hairs over the check. I wanted to order so that i can avoid the wait time because last time i came here, i came to eat inside. the wait for the food, was 30-35 mins. this time, yesterday no answers on the phone. i walked to order. the girl with the piercing on her lip, is a horrible waitress. she has attitude, doesn't greet you. doesn't even look at you. anyway, i came in to order. my order was almost $40. to be exact, it was $38.6.. something cents. the wait was super long 45-50 mins. the waitress was slow to clean up the tables, on top of that there was a customer who changed tables after she got done cleaning the table they sat, but changed their mind to a different table that was messy; it looked like the waitress got mad. she was like "serio? serio?" ‍ she was mad. anyway, i finally got my food after a long wait. i checked if everything was in there. she forgot my drink so i asked for my drink. then i left. they got one of my order wrong, my other order wasn't even fully cooked right. i called four times this time to explain what's happening & NO ANSWER! i walked again all the way there to explain that they got my order wrong and my other order wasn't fully cooked right. the same waitress didn't even wait to let me explain, when i was explaining, she was on her phone. she didn't look at me when i was explaining. she just took my food, and did a slight laugh as if she was irritated. that lady did not look like she was happy working there. i wanted my money back, all she did was took my food in the back. came out a couple minutes later, with food in her mouth. i wasn't about to wait even longer. my girlfriend was on my side, asking me to ask for our money back that we paid for those two orders. i asked how long was it gonna take, she said another 10 mins or so. i then asked "the amount that i paid for those two orders, can i just have my money back." she said "they're making your food right now" and she proceeded on walking to the back while at the same time having the audacity to tell me that my platanos fritos were cooked right. isn't the customer always right? anyway; she failed to give me my money back. i was already mad cause i paid a lot of money and i didn't get any of my money. i was so furious that i just walked out of there WITH NO MONEY THAT I ASKED FOR, AND NO FOOD. I returned the food they messed up. I didn't ask to remake the food. i asked for my money back. Their customer service is horrible. The wait period, is also horrible. It such a small restaurant with a real feel to Mexico. The service could be bette as in the servers could be more attentive. However, they were really busy &a that were really nice the times they did approach us. The food is without a doubt delicious!!! I tried the asada tacos... I'm done with the food, couldn't finish it, it was overwhelming the taste of oil and with no salsa it simply sucks.. be aware that there is only a couple of centimeters difference from a regular quesadilla to a machete size 25inch quesadilla.. the quesadillas at LA are by far the best. We have come here before and the food is always amazing but the service needs a lot of improvement. I work in a restaurant myself and I know that these waitresses need some retraining. My siblings and I went to order some food to go since I was on my way to the airport, I made sure to arrive with enough time to get there and wait for my order before we had to leave. We showed up and was waiting outside and a waitress came out and we told her we wanted to order to go, she replied ok let me take some food out and I'll be back to take your order. We waited and she never came, so when two large groups came out we decided to go inside. We sat ourselves to wait. The same waitress then came up to us to tell us there was a wait list to which we said we were getting some take out. She said ok let me clean some tables and I'll be right with you. She went ahead and with the help of another waitress cleaned the 3 tables and proceeded to sit everyone that was waiting outside(which arrived after we did).We waited and no one went up to us.
