Well thought I'd try this place and was I disappointed? My chimichonga burrito was terrible,the meat was canned or delivered to them(frozen)? It was suppose to be shredded beef and it was like ground beef paste! The enchilada dinner was microwaved and was a dark dark sauce. The inside of the restaurant was tiny and so loud that echoed with only my table and two other tables occupied! I can say it was very clean establishment and the bathroom was super clean! I would not go back again. I thought I would give them a try,not impressed and it doesn't take much! Service was sluggish and labored, I can't imagine what it's like if they get more than four tables if this is the quality of service not busy? Went here with my family- didn't have much of a kids menu, only 3 items to choose from there. Chips were warm and fresh, salsa was ok- I had a combo plate enchilada and shredded beef taco, they were pretty descent. I'd order the taco again, that was better. My daughter liked my taco better than her chicken enchilada too. My son had a bean & cheese burrito that he devoured. We also had floutas that were good. The best part of the meal was the fried ice cream we had for dessert! It was so good, we ordered a second one! The flan had a weird consistency to it, but the raspberry sauce drizzled on it was good. The atmosphere was clean, quaint and charming. Inside was cozy with wood beams and wood mantel over the fireplace. The bathroom was clean. Outside looked like it would be a good place to eat in the warmer weather. It has lights strung up along the railing and a mural on the wall. We love this place! It's a tradition that we eagerly fulfil every trip up the mountain. The food is great. Last time I had the steak piccata. Perfectly cooked and each bite was filled with the most wonderfully balanced mixture of flavors. The chips are homemade with a dip into always fresh oil. I appreciate the fact that this is owner run. Picked up some food here with my wife, I got the Enchiladas my wife got the Taco Salad. I took it to go and ran back in to ask for hot sauce but apperantly they don't make hot sauce to go?! The lady was kinda rude and said, "I gave you tomato sauce with chips and we sell the green sauce".The Enchiladas were a bit bland and mushy but we're masked with a bunch of cheese thrown on top. Came here a couple of weekends ago. The waitress that served us was beyond friendly and provided just the right mixture of being attentive but not bothersome. I wish I remembered her name because she was awesome! The food was pretty bland. The chicken used in the chicken taco tasted like pre-cooked, frozen chicken was used and just heated up. The beans and rice were not too bad but again pretty bland. Salsa wasn't bad but had no flavor to it at all. Needless to say we had to add salt to many of our items. I really wanted to like it due to the staff. We may try this place one more time to give it a second shot in hopes that this was just an off night. read more

It's so nice to sit outside on a late afternoon, early evening, quite little place tucked away from the noise of a main street. Very nice little mom and pop restaurant, had a few tables and bar as soon as you enter and about 7 tables on the other side of the establishment. Young male waiter was prompt and respectful. The chips were tasty with a good amount of salt on some, salsa had a little bit of kick which I like but taste was a bit off. Ordered 3 kid meals, which were good portions; the bean burrito had a side of rice and beans and the kids nachos had cheese on top and surprisingly had refried beans under the chips. The wife ordered two tacos which came with one hard shell chicken taco with lettuce and cheese (not my preference but she liked it), and the other was a soft pork taco which she did not really enjoy the abundant amount of onion in it. Two orders of the $13 steak burrito, overpriced in my opinion for any restaurant especially since they did not come with a side of beans and rice like most Mexican restaurants I have been to. The steak was decently seasoned but can get tough if you let it sit. Way too much sour cream that topped it off, and I like sour cream but not that much. Lemonades were good maybe homemade, the "coke" meeehhhh. Would give it another try and order something other than the steak burrito. read more

This hidden gem has become my absolute favorite place to go! They have these amazing jalapeno poppers and the shrimp burrito is to die for! The steak, shredded beef and chicken are all perfectly seasoned and melt in your mouth delicious! I sweat can't believe that I never knew this place was up here and it's become an absolute friend and family favorite. We sat in the very front by the bar stools . Half way through our meal they sat a party down literally right behind me . My chair actually was touching their chair . If my food wasn't so good I probably would have left. As it was we ate very quickly and left . My BF went to the restroom and he said every single table was occupied in the dining area . I'm sorry but most restaurants are following the rules and taking every other table out . Apparently these ppl think it doesn't apply to them . I fully understand that times are tough but times are tough for most every business so do your part please . The staff did wear masks but still there was no 6 feet apart . Honestly, it was a pretty forgettable place. The sauce was ok. The food was ok. The service was ok. The hostess was fairly friendly, but nothing overboard. i mean, if you're hungry for some Mexican food, and are rolling up by Crestline, then you won't be mad that you went, but you won't jump for joy either. They looked like they re-modeled the interior, and it was....Ok. There was a live band there of some people that looked like they were folk singers, or the like, but when i got there, they were packing up and leaving, so maybe the atmosphere cranks up a bit if you're dining with live music. Now I will say this: I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, so maybe I don't know what hte heck I'm talking about. I wouldn't have minded a seafood option, like a seafood enchilada, or burrito; but none were offered. Food-wise, it's on the level of El Torito. I love Mexican food. Someone told me this was the best Mexican restaurant in Crestline, so I decided to check it out. La Casita offers a really fresh Mexican experience. My taco salad had a perfect blend of amazingly flavorful meat and the freshest lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole. If you are looking to order out fresh food in Crestline, this is by far the best place. Not to mention the space inside is beautiful, clean, contemporary, a refreshing experience in this middle of this small mountain community. And they have a jazzy soulful live singer on Wednesday nights. And, it was super affordable, only 8.25 for a HUGE taco salad with a ton of shedded beef. A happy meal :) read more

I looked at the other reviews for this place and I can't believe we are talking about the same place. I thought it was pretty bad. They were not busy at all and felt the food suffered from that. Nothing was fresh and it tasted pretty old, actually. They didn;t want to give us a straw unless they were sure we were going to use it. We also asked if they had a taco Tuesday. Our waiter said no. He then proceeded to say he has never heard of that. The chips were so stale. I did think the inside was nice. I don't think we will go back. read more
