Carne asasa chimichanga (split portion)
Julie R.

In crestline for the weekend and La Casita is right around the corner from the cabin, super quaint restaurant - only open from 5-9 so plan accordingly! We didn't know what their hours were and showed up at around 4pm, ended up antiquing while we waited for them to open up. We had a party of 7 and were seated within a few minutes, drinks/chips/salsa/guacamole ordered and out on our table within minutes. Chips came out piping hot so you know they're fresh. Hubby & I split a carne asada chimichanga, tacos and flautas and everything was delicious! Kiddos wanted some dessert so we ordered their deep fried ice cream - the cornflakes had cinnamon sugar which was a nice surprise! So happy that we came across La Casita. Foods delicious, service is great and super family friendly, will definitely be back when we're back in town!

I haven't been here in probably close to 20 years. My family used to eat here a lot back in the day as I grew up here in town. The food was great back then. I had learned it's owned by the original family that owned it when I grew up up here. This visit the service and the food did not disappoint. This little hidden gem in Crestline is worth the stop. it's a small but quaint little place where the staff are super friendly and make you feel like you're at home. Not knowing what to get I did look on yelp and see what others were saying. I ordered the fish tacos and they did not disappoint. They were crispy, hot and fresh and full of flavor. When I go back, I will order that same again . Thank you, La Casita for a wonderful dinner as I will return.

Steak fajitas

I would say my first experience was okay, I'd love to give this spot another try. After reading the reviews it seems like a burrito was the way to go. The steak fajitas were okay, they needed more seasoning and the steak was cooked about medium rare and they were thick pieces. The beans were a little disappointing, they somewhat seemed like they were from a can. Like I just said, I think a burrito or tacos were the way to go. The chimichanga was pretty good, filled to the brim with meat! Also, the iced tea was so good!! We sat outside and it was so nice to be out there. The service was good out there. There was a lot of shade! The outside was so cute! This spot seems to be a local spot! Everyone knew everyone and it was so awesome to watch that. The parking lot was a little small, we don't mind but we did have to park down the street and you get to walk on the beautiful mountain road!

The BEST mexican in town, hands down. The chips and salsa are always amazing and warm. Who doesn't like nice warm chips before their meal. The quality of the food is phenomenal. The chimichanga with red enchilada sauce is amazing. I always go for the shrimp tacos.

Walking in yesterday, it was such a good-vibe, welcoming place. There was sunshine coming through the large windows and color all around. Our waitress was warm and welcoming as well as on top of our dining needs, even as it got busier. We 4, two of us being vegetarians, each found something delicious to enjoy. I got the BAT Omelette, which was generous with cheese, avocado, bacon, and as a delightful switch up, cherry and grape tomatoes. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, with its dainty and colorful flower petals on top. In fact, all dishes were beautifully presented. I ordered fruit instead of potatoes, which was enough to share. My mom found her bagel and lox delectable and a large enough portion to take 1/2 home. Friends found vegetarian enjoyment in the Goat omelette and the breakfast sammie. They were both well pleased with bellies full. All of us were happy brunchers ! As we dined, the place welcomed a steady stream of guests, both inside and out, which is furry best friend welcoming. So, on Sundays, come early. Great food, vibe, service....a perfect opportunity to break bread together when local or up the hill for a visit.

I tried to come out once a month with my dogs and get a beer and a small appetizer at each location and usually dinner at the last location. This place was the best by far we were greeted by this tall gentleman with the beard bald guy super cool dude. This waiter was amazing full of personality. Customer service skills was excellent. We ordered the California Dog tater tots with garlic Parm and a peanut butter and jelly burger that was to die for everything. Everything was amazing except for it being a little windy on the patio and a little chilly, but that was the least of our worries our dogs were comfortable. The food was amazing. The ambience was exceptional and the service was top-notch. Thank you sir for the amazing recommendations. We will be back for sure from your friends with the Doberman and German Shepherd dogs. We opted to sit outside and they turned on all of their outdoor heaters for us, even though we're were initially the only ones out there. It was a cold night but the heaters made it comfortable. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. One of my friends ordered the bacon bbq burger with onion rings. We split these plates so we could both try two different dishes. I accidentally ordered a buffalo sauce instead of the bbq for my nuggets, and I was not a fan of the sauce. It was a dark sauce with too much smokiness to it. My friend ordered a side of bbq and that one was much better. The tenders are crispy and pair well with their bbq sauce or their ranch. The burger was also tasty. Fries were okay and I did not like their onion rings. They had a different taste to them. I couldn't put my finger on the flavor but it wasn't good in my opinion. My other friend ordered mozzarella sticks, and they were not good. No cheese pull, and it honestly tasted like moderately fried string cheese. The food took a really long time to come out. I know they were busy, but once the food came, we inhaled it because of how hungry we were. The vibes there are excellent though. We really enjoyed the music and the staff were fantastic. I still recommend making a pit stop here if you're ever in the Crestline area.
