    4 Oysters, 4 Scallops & Fish
    Dylan B.

Came here after seeing a recommendation from @forkandscore with this ranking as one of his top 5 Fish and Chips in the Bay Area which made me pretty excited considering I have only tried one of his personal top 5 thus far (and if a Brit is saying a fish and chips is good then I'll take their word for it). The location we went to was a quaint little shop that was a little dirty on the floors and tables (seemingly not as nice as the Cupertino location that we saw in the vid) but looks aren't everything. We wanted to try a bit of everything so we chose one of the combo platters with scallops, oysters, and fish with a clam chowder to share. It took a few minutes to get ready and they even got us some more tartar sauce/malt vinegar when asked. The clam chowder was pretty good but nothing that blew our socks off compared to other ones we've had in places like Half Moon Bay or Seattle or the East Coast even. The seafood and chips platter came to us piled high with large pieces which was nice. The fries were pretty standard and crunchy. I think the main positive I would have was that all the seafood, and especially the fish were battered and fried nicely with a really good crunch to each bite. However the issue we had with nearly each piece was a lack of seasoning. There really wasn't too much depth beyond the crunch factor here. I will say the scallops and oysters had a nice natural flavor to them and the texture of the fish was pretty good. But even dousing these in salt/vinegar/tartar didn't help make up for a somewhat bland offering. I will say that the hot sauce they had at the table was really good and helped a lot. Overall definitely not among the best fish and chips I've had but a solid choice if you are in the area and possibly just a one-off (whether it be the restaurant itself of just the location) in terms of an average taste.

Phenomenal food and service! We got there early for lunch hour and glad we had all the choices of the place to choose our seats. Of course we took front middle window table. We were all super delighted with our orders. My sister had the Clam chowder in a bread bowl, my brother in law had the variety fish and chips, and I had the lobster roll. We tasted each other food! Holy smoke their tartar sauce is to die for and the breading on the fish was absolutely delicious. They keep a clean restaurant environment and felt like I might be in a beach town, goes perfectly well with the food. There is street parking and plenty of public parking areas in the vicinity. Just plan a little extra time for parking. What a great find!!! Thank you server who helped us on Saturday 5/23 during lunch hour 12pm! You were so attentive! Thanks young lady! You rock!

I drove from Santa cruz, based off the reviews. In my opinion it wasn't good. I had to send back oyster rockafella...the cheese was melted ok outside but the inside was cold..like the spinach mixture was nasty and bland. I asked for crackers, and was was surprise to learn they didnt have anything but oyster crackers. Maam that's not even an option. Who dont offer crackers when selling oysters. The ceasar salad was decent. The lobster roll filling was decent. The bread was not. Over all 4 out of 10. I would recommend it at all. Small eatery, no free parking at this location, small restoom across from kitchen.

Best fish & chips we've come across in the South Bay. It's a very small place, street parking can be tricky - it's metered so make sure to plan for that. Service was prompt and super nice. Luckily they had some seats open, not sure how bad it would get on a busy night. Overall, the restaurant was clean. I mentioned the bathroom (all gendered) needed tp and they were quick to address it. The clam chowder was so good. Fish & chips was 5 stars! The batter was thin and flaky. The crab sandwich was so good. The bacon and avocado added a yummy twist. Make sure to get the cheesy crab bread - we fought over the last piece. Generous portions and worth the money. Please note they have a 4% surcharge if you use a card, so if stuff like that bothers you, bring cash!

I stopped by on a weekday afternoon to pick up lunch. The place was full. There were several delicious items in the menu and could not decide on one. So I went with clam chowder and fish combo. Both were flavorful.

I've been meaning to try this place for years, but every time I'm in downtown San Jose, I have other priorities... like the bars lol today I was able to finally try this place. I came just in time for their happy hour menu and got 1 grilled fish taco and 1 fried fish. Honestly, I'm not a fan of fried fish but their fried fish was fantastic! The batter was light and airy, and the fish was soft and flaky. Perfect seasoning. It was soo good I ordered another one. Their grilled fish taco was also great. The pico de gallo gave it freshness and the cabbage gave it some crunch. The sauce was also paired well with the fish taco. The service was also spectacular. Fast and efficient. Nothing to complain about it. Overall, I'll come back here again and fill my tummy up before a night of binge drinking.

love this place. I'm always here for the happy hours 2pm - 5pm monday to friday. 6 oysters for $10. The crab sandwich is also amazing which I suggest everyone should try it when they're here

I ordered fish tacos to go, which were fine (not the best I've had but certainly not bad) but for some reason the whole takeout bag smelled awful. i braved it and ate the tacos still (which as I said were fine) but the smell coming from the bag was definitely off-putting

    Hot buttered crab roll
    Dan W.

Think of this score as a very strong 3 rating..a 3.5, even. It is a QSR, but borderline sit down restaurant prices. My wife and I ordered the oysters, fish and chips, and crab roll (out of lobster, no biggie). The crab roll was amazing...hot and surprisingly fresh tasting (hot butter style...WHY ruin good seafood with mayonnaise???). I devoured it. The fries, fish, and oysters....were fairly standard. They weren't bad...but nothing to write home about. All of the food were huge portions, so you will not leave hungry. The customer service was high standard: helpful in ordering, good customer service, drinks refilled, and checking up on us. This is a good lunch spot. It probably wouldn't stick out in my head should I return to downtown San Jose, but if people wanted to eat, I'd have no problem coming back

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The only small downside was that the crawfish had a bit of a fishy taste, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal since the seasoning was still really good. The shrimp, on the other hand, were delicious and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, great for groups. It was pretty busy when we arrived, which says a lot about how popular the place is, but we were still able to enjoy our meal comfortably. The service was efficient despite the crowd, we didn't have to wait for too long. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

Everything we ordered was delicious, and a few dishes were truly outstanding. What we ordered: Uni Pasta: My absolute favorite, and it seems to be their most popular dish for good reason. The sauce was incredibly creamy, rich, and packed with umami flavor. I don't even want to think about the calories, but it was definitely worth every single one. Charred Garlic Oysters: My second favorite and the biggest surprise of the meal. I didn't have high expectations for this dish, but the moment the oyster hit my mouth, it just melted. Smoky, flavorful, rich, and absolutely scrumptious. Oyster Shooter: Also very great. It came with oyster, uni, and a quail egg yolk in soju. Smooth, briny and fun to eat. Tuna Tartare: Probably the most disappointing dish of the night. If I came back, I'd skip this one. It was the blandest tartare I've ever had and lacked the seasoning and flavor I was expecting. Lobster Garlic Noodles: Delicious, but cracking the lobster ourselves was the downside. We appreciated getting all the lobster meat, but breaking down the shell took so much effort that by the time we finished, we had already lost our appetite. We ended up leaving 2/3 of the noodles behind. Next time I'd rather skip this dish or just asked to have the lobster meat removed from the shell. Overall, there were some standout dishes that I'd happily order again and a couple that I wouldn't. Even so, it was a very enjoyable dining experience, and I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

We got the Vietnamese coffee, rainbow roll, truffle crab garlic noodles, seafood pasta, and the rack of lamb. FIrst of all, the vietnamese coffee was reallyyyy sweet, and the coffee was mostly watered down by dairy in my opinion. You gotta wait for the ice to melt to dilute the sweetness for a good sip. The rainbow roll was good! The sashimi was refreshing. Nothing special, but it was good. The truffle crab garlic noodles was a personal favorite. EMC was really generous with the crab meat and the truffle. Each bite of noodle had a good amounts of crab with it. One suggestion about this dish is about the scallions. There are so little, I would suggest to either put more or completely not use it at all. When this dished was served, there were around 4 pieces of chopped scallions.. it wouldn't even make a difference if they hadn't used it at all. The seafood pasta was again, good. There's nothing special about the taste, except for the fact that there were a lot of seafood. May seafood pastas I've had was probably 80% pasta, 20% seafood. This one is probably 60% pasta and 40% seafood. Lastly, the rack of lamb! I have one comment. It was super well done. I requested medium, but it fully cooked, which made it really dense. However, I love how there were three toppings on the side which you can choose to season your meat. And one last thing, the food took really long to be served. We waited for around thirty minutes, though it wasn't even a busy day. Despite all of this, it was a good experience overall.

For seafood boil sauce, we opted for the cajun instead of lemon pepper. I wasn't sure if I would finish everything, but it was INHALED. I really like the seafood quality here, but sauce-wise, I prefer Cajun Bistro for the garlic butter sauce. Cap't Loui does not offer that sauce, but it was still delicious overall.
