The music was on/off--they had some difficulties--which we didn't mind--we were there for the food lol. Seated right away--and our server was great. They brought out complimentary plantain soup--it was soo good. I'm not a soup person, but every drop was gone. We got the appetizer platter--so worth it. Everything on it was delicious. I ordered the Kan-Kan--wow! My whole group was so happy with their meals. They abs loved it. I believe the owner even stopped by to see if we were ok, she was so sweet. For a group of this size, along with our many alcoholic beverages the bill was not bad--which made everything much more worth it. I'll def be back. This place is great for groups or date night.

What really disappointed me was the service. We had a reservation, but had to wait to be seated even with plenty of open tables. That's normally not a big deal for us, but we had an event to get to tonight, so we were in more of a rush. Someone came to us to ask what water we wanted after 10 minutes of being sat, after which the hostess came back over to us to apologize that our server hasn't come over yet and asked if we would like water. Much more time passes and someone (still not our server) comes to ask us if everything is alright. We explain that no one has taken our order, which she apologized for and took our order for us. She then had to come back over because she forgot to include what protein we picked for our pasta. Finally, our server came over to us. We explained that we had already ordered. More hiccups continued throughout the night, including a long wait for the check, never being brought a dessert menu after asking, etc. I'm not one to complain about service, I just think they could be more efficient. At the time we arrived, there were only a few other tables seated in our area. It wasn't super busy, and there were a lot of people working. We overheard staff whispering about who was supposed to be taking care of us, and it still took time for someone to come over and help us. I think the staff knew we overheard or were disappointed in the service, because our dessert was free, and we received a bread basket as well. I'd love to give them another chance, just maybe not if I have plans after.
