I don't even like coffee, but the people who work here are so friendly and warm that I couldn't help myself! I had the customer-favorite, the Black and Tan (iced draft latte (nitro'd?!) over cold brew). It was absolutely fantastic. Smooth and naturally sweet, it converted a tea drinker rather quickly! I also tried the chocolate espresso biscotti, which was the crunchiest biscotti I've ever had. I think it would've been really good to dip in something, but alas, my drink was gone too quickly for me to test that theory out. read more

La Colombe is usually a great cup of coffee but this location needs to QC a bit. My picture is me dumping the remainder of my coffee in the sink after I took a big sip of coffee grounds. Also, the grind size found in my cup is way to big for drip coffee. read more

I got one of these during lunch today and I have one word... fantastic!! I've completely fallen in love with their draft latte. I'm usually that person that loads sweetener into their coffee, but this was the first time I didn't need to add anything. Now, the draft latte is definitely not as sweet as the coffee I'll order myself at other places, but it was just sweet enough, and not bitter at all. Plus brownie points since it's naturally sweet, with no added sweeteners! It's a short walk away from my office, but I don't mind! I'll probably become a regular here now that I've found the perfect latte and the bartistas are super nice and helpful! I'll be back soon! read more

La Colombe has REALLY REALLY good coffee and well worth it for a smooth draft latte or PNG beans to take home that were insanely good. I have only had super nice baristas every time I've gone in even offering me something different when what I ordered was finished. This location is more urban and small so unless you want to have a quick standing chat with someone, best to take your coffee to go. I appreciate their two outside benches for when the weather cooperates giving a nice perch to finish a mid afternoon expresso. read more

I love La Colombe! No other coffee shop serves as delicious a drink as its black and tan. I particularly love the oat milk black and tan, which is amazingly creamy and foamy with just the slightest bit of sweetness. Everyone must try it! I would get one every day if not for the price. I also enjoy that the cafes have the bubbliest sparkling water on tap. read more

The coffee wasn't that exciting. I got their cold brew iced coffee. It didn't taste like some other cold brews that I have had, like Peet's or JP Licks. It tasted a bit more watery and had a hint of nut flavor. The price was pretty reasonable. However, I would not get this again, because it wasn't good enough to wow my tastebuds. read more

As someone who LOVES coffee and has tried coffee in all the best cafes around the world, it's rare I get to try something new. But, La Colombe delivered something I've never had: a latte draft! This new and innovative concept consists of a cold latte literally on draft, which is comprised of coldbrew, while milk and nitro! The nitro makes it fluffy and naturally sweet, I'm told. I'm still more a fan of hot coffee, but this concoction is definitely worth the try. The pastries here were also delish, even by Montréal French standards! So definitely give this place a try! read more

I don''t know about anything else, but the draft latte will change your life. I started drinking it in cans because it was always on sale at Target and Giant. The coffee was so smooth, I could not believe it. So I leaped at the chance to go to the cafe and try it. MIND. BLOWN. America does deserve better coffee and the triple or regular latte is it. I cant speak to the other products, I did not like their regular coffee in the can or pumpkin. But the draft is 150% worth it. It is so smooth and enjoyable, even if you are not a huge coffee drinker. Starbucks aint got nothing on this place, dont even waste your time on their draft. Just come here. read more

This iteration of La Colombe is consistently solid; every drink I've had there has been quite good, which is more than can be said of other roasteries and cafes in the area. I'm a particular fan of their cold brew. Lovely. I'll knock off a star on account of the fairly small space and frequently long lines. Both of those things are unavoidable to some extent, but the line issue is compounded by the fact that the drink options are only listed on small, individual menus up by the counter, rather than over the bar as they are in most places. This significantly slows the ordering process, as most people still don't know what they want to get by the time they reach the front of the line. Seems like a simple fix, though perhaps there's a reason La Colombe does it this way. Nonetheless, a fine choice for coffee in the Farragut area; just make sure you have a few spare minutes that you can use to (potentially) wait. read more

The three stars is for the service, not the taste...honestly everything else about this place merits 4 stars if it not were for their system with delivering drinks. You really have to pay attention and god help you if the person in front of you or behind you got the same drink. I've come here consistently since it opened and I waited 10 minutes for a drink once because someone in front of me stole mine, and I didn't know and we didn't figure out how to fix the problem till we'd waited a while. They should really consider taking names like many other coffee shops. Still glad they opened downtown though. read more

This location is much smaller than their Blagden Alley location. There's 3 tables - 2 small ones for 2 people each and 1 large one that can fit 3 comfortably, but up to 4. The decor is also more modern and very clean. The drink menu is on long cards by the registers. We decided to order an iced latte to cool off on the hot day, and we were asked if we wanted the draft latte or a regular iced latte. I was caught off guard a bit because I've never heard of a "draft latte" like a draft beer. Lo and behold - it was exactly that - the worker grabbed a small cup and gave us a sample of the draft latte poured from a tap. The draft latte is foamy in a light and airy way, but not excessively light where you think you're being ripped off or drinking only air. It's creamy and has a great balance of coffee to milk. If you prefer a stronger or richer coffee taste, then this probably isn't for you. It's not very sweet out of the tap, but you're welcome to add sugar to your own taste. The price for the larger size was $3.75 (I believe), which is reasonable. Massive props to the workers for taking the initiative to offer free samples to help customers make a decision. I've never experienced that in a coffee shop. I'd totally recommend coming here and trying the draft latte. read more

Loved this place. I was in town for a few days and visited twice. The first time was later in the evening so I went with a hot chocolate and a canele pastry. Both were really good. The hot chocolate comes unsweetened so you can adjust it to taste. The texture of the canele caught me by surprise but in a good way. It was tasty, but on the small side. The next day, I went back for a pour over. I don't remember which bean I chose (I think it was a single origin Columbian) but it was done well. Also liked that they have a water station with both sparkling and flat water. read more

When the cortado is perfectly balanced, creamy but not decadent, and the foam on top has flavor, not just fluff -- when the music is at the perfect volume, the natural light abundant, the staff friendly -- there's not much to say. It's just right. Just right. P.S. While they do not offer wi-fi, I was able to pick up a strong xfinity signal for working on my laptop. read more

Consistently I get very good coffee and service at La Columbe. On my most recent visit out group had a drip, a draft latte, an espresso...and then another draft latte. All were made well, and quickly, served with a smile. No snobby attitude, just a "hope you love this" friendly posture. Clean, quick, craft coffee at La Columbe! read more

Had the draft latte and a ham and cheese croissant. The latte was smooth and not too sweet, the croissant was good for a chain coffee shop but you could definitely find better at a bakery that specializes in pastries. I've been to some of their other locations and their coffee is always very good. This location has limited seating with just 3 small tables and a longer table you can stand at, but given its location I imagine during the week there's a lot of people getting coffee to go, so it's probably not an issue as it's not really a spot where you'd want to camp out and do work. read more

Damn you La Colombe! I want to avoid you at all costs but your coffee is too delicious. My first encounter was in LA and loved it. Their can vanilla draft is usually found in my Whole Foods basket but it can't compare to their draft on tap. The coffee is smooth AF. Creamy, complex and whatever other adjective you want to throw in to say good. Just freakin' good. Space is small and the menu lets you know they are serious about coffee. Nothing fancy just the basics. Staff is friendly enough. There are so many options downtown (I.e. Compass, Swing's) that cafes need to stand out somehow but La Colombe gets the job done without all the fuss. read more

I am writing this review after experiencing the last of the coffee places on my list in the Downtown D.C. area-- Compass coffee (ew). I have to say, La Colombe is my favorite today. Centrolina, Compass, Starbucks, and the others cannot hold a candle to La Colombe's wide array of options-- not only with coffee/tea but also with add ins (like oat milk, yay!). I also loved that if you wanted simple syrup, they have jars that allow you to control the amount yourself. The only reason I chose to give 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. La Colombe seems to be a little more expensive than the others, which I can understand because it is a boutique coffee shop, but it's almost a little absurd. In other countries, if anyone tried charging you $4-6 for a latte, the general public would balk at you. Welcome to America, I guess. Anyway, would recommend, and will be returning. read more

The staff is rude and condescending. I used to love coming here, but lately it hasn't been the same. The draft drinks are mostly air. I'll be sticking to Compass Coffee around the block where the staff is friendly and the drinks are better for the price. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in DC. The draft latte is unique and very delicious! I love foam and the draft latte has a lot of nice, creamy foam. The workers are also very friendly! Note: there aren't very many seats in there but just grab a draft latte to go so you can try how good it is! read more

Get yourself a draft latte. Don't think, don't skim the menu, don't reach for the sugar or almond milk. It is delicious and sweet without sweetener (sorry Ariana Grande). Several locations through the city, can't go wrong. Get some good coffee today! read more

Important to note: this La Colombe location is small. There's enough seating for about 7 people total in the shop, and then there's a standing desk that can accommodate another 6-7 or so. The store can get a little noisy with many people standing around and talking in a small space. That being said: the service is quick, the coffee robust, the decor beautiful. This La Colombe location looks exactly like what you'd expect out of a millennial-oriented third wave coffee shop. Wooden panelling, industrial furniture vibes and some tastefully exposed lighting make the place look great. The prices here are pretty reasonable. You can get a drip coffee for about $3, an espresso drink for $4.50 or a pourover for $6. I haven't tried the pourover yet, but it looks good from what I can see. The draft coffee and the drip offerings are about as good as I expected from a well-known brand like La Colombe -- that is, great! read more

Since the cafe only opens on Saturdays from 8-1, I knew I had to make an effort to stop by despite the 30+ minute drive. Unfortunately, many other people had the same exact idea as me, and the staff was definitely overwhelmed by the popularity. There was a long wait for espresso drinks (at least 30 minutes). All bags of beans were sold out (I'd recommend ordering online and picking up or getting it delivered in the future). POUR OVER / DRIP - 5.35 By the time I ordered, they were out of most pour over options so I tried the Costa Rica Cumbres del Poas since I wanted a fruitier coffee. Fortunately, the wait for pour overs was pretty short, about 10 minutes. The flavors were fruity, but not overwhelmingly so, with a lighter mouthfeel. The pour over was a bit more diluted than I'm used to, but I still enjoyed it greatly. CORTADO - 4 After a 45 minute wait, I finally got my cortado. This has got to be one of the best cortados I've had in the DMV. The espresso was bright and fruity and paired well with the steamed whole milk. It was definitely worth the wait! If Nagadi was closer, I can see myself going 1-2x a month. I'd highly recommend this coffee roaster to any coffee snob looking for high quality coffee in the area.

I expected it to be filled with Georgetown students. It was a nice day so everyone was outside hanging out. I needed a nice pick me up and this place did the job. I will have to come back here again next time I am in town to try out their other flavors.

So they did not ground the coffee fresh once order... Makes sense it's bitter. It's so low quality I'm in shock they get to charge it so much for a tiny cortado. Also, the temperature was perfect for sipping when it came out. I didn't have to worry about burning my tongue with a piping hot drink. Aloved that I could just enjoy it right away. What more could I ask for?! Love how spacious this cafe is, lots of areas to hang out, chat, or work. Lots of pastries, coffees, and cups to buy and take home!

I love how there's no extra charge for alternative milks. I got the hot almond butter latte with oat milk and a chicken sausage breakfast sandwich. The latte was super smooth, rich and the perfect drink for a chilly morning. I loved the combo of almond butter with espresso and it was just lightly sweet which was perfect for me. The sandwich was also quite good, with juicy sausage, soft egg, and lightly toasted sandwich bread. While it wasn't my first choice since the egg bites they had weren't thawed out yet, it was a very good alternative. I'd get both the latte and sandwich again. Service was friendly and it did take a little longer than expected for our drinks but that was due to a large order that was placed before ours.

This is a Great coffee shop. Quality of drinks is a plus. Try the Blank and Tan. However there is only seating for like 6 people. They really don't expect you to stay long. Good choice for grab and go. read more

It's good. But please drink local coffee. Go somewhere else. There's plenty of other local coffee shops nearby to support.
