To the person who replied to my review...I did not say anything about the high chair to staff because it was old crumbs in the seat crevices that you can't wipe off, you need new high chairs so what is the point of complaining and risk getting my food spit on ?? I don't think it would hurt my child it just looks gross and unprofessional or believe me I would complain. And you did not take our order, it was a big guy with his shirt inside out who took our order so ask him what i ordered, I ordered CEVICHE. I didn't see it on the menu and I asked him if you had it and he said yea we do. So I ordered 2 shrimp ceviche tostadas. I specifically said ceviche. I did not want anything else but that. That's the only reason I went out to eat, I was craving ceviche, so believe me, it's what I ordered. My dad was the only one who liked his pork in green sauce so he ate most of it but the plates were not clean, we left all the rice and beans. We even looked around and commented to each other how everyone else was leaving the food on the table especially the rice. My mom doesn't eat spicy food so I guarantee you she did not order any extra sauce. I made 1 trip to the salsa bar and we were so hungry and the food took forever to come out so yea we had to eat chips and salsa. We just moved to the area and this place was local. I really wanted to love this place! We came in and the place was a bit weird. A very heavy set naked toddler was tightly strapped into a car seat in the corner with a bottle of chocolate milk. A dinosaur movie was blaring. We couldn't find any menus. We picked a couple of tables and asked the woman in the front to wipe them because they were dirty. She was very nice and cleaned the tables as well as got us menus, chips, dip, and waters. We debated what to get for awhile and my toddler had to use the bathroom. I took him in the back and it was very dirty. My toddler actually said "ewww, no mommy I'll wait." So we went back out. The waitress took our order and we waited for the food. I kept looking at the poor kid in the car seat, I think the workers noticed me watching him and slid the baby in the back. When they opened the back door my husband saw another toddler strapped to a chair. The dinosaur movie ended and "Sing" came on. My kids enjoyed watching it and we kept waiting for our food. Two tables that came in after us were served. It took almost an hour but finally our food started coming out. I was ready to enjoy my food but...it was awful. I was trying really hard to keep a positive attitude about the whole experience. My husband was clearly annoyed. His burrito had hair in it. The hair was actually attached to the meat so I think it was from the animal and not the cooks. The rice was over cooked to the point of being mush. All the food had very little meat, the beans were like water, the flavor was bland and one note, the kids plates has a spicy sauce on the quesadilla, which they piled high with vegetables so it wasn't even reasonable to pick up and eat. It was honestly the worst food I've had in a long time. My husband wanted to complain but I felt bad for the workers. Life has got to be rough if your idea of child care is locking them in a car seat while you work. So we just paid and left. I don't know how in the world they got such high ratings, but the place is dirty, the wait is long, they're over priced, and the food is horrid. It's weird, unprofessional, and neglectful to just leave him sitting in the dining area. It's easy to see lack of excersize and poor diet are taking a toll on the child. The bathrooms were no way "usually clean". They were flat out disgusting from who knows how long of not cleaning. You chastised another mom for complaining about nasty high chairs...but I have to tell you your own bathrooms are rank? Okay. I see you have a habit of commenting on people's negative reviews with passive aggressive comments - so here's one back - The place is nasty, and I feel sorry for the children you strap to seats all day, and pacify with junk food. Me and my husband really enjoyed this family owned and ran place. We live close by and couldn't believe they delivered. I wanted to try the meats they offered so I had three different tacos and each one was delicious. The shredded chicken was my favorite. Tried this place out for the first time tonight and I'm so glad I did! I love supporting family run businesses and this place is just that. I ordered a to-go/pick up order. Was very friendly over the phone which was nice. I ordered 1 chicken empenada, and the Carne adobo plate which came w/ beans, rice, and homemade tortillas. This is the first time, in a very looooong time, that I had mexican food that tasted like home cooking. Empenada was so good - full of flavor and moist chicken. The carne adobo could have been just a little bit more tender, but definately wasn't bad (trust me, I finished the entire thing LOL). The Mexican rice was sooooo good, and the homemade tortillas..... DELICIOUS. I haven't had homemade tortillas in forever so it was definately nice. I would recommend you guys come out and support this family business! We had high hopes since the reviews seem really great. The chips were really good along with the handmade tortillas. Since I had my food to go I ordered chips. The paper bag was 1/4 full. The salsas were all room temperature. The beans were very runny/watery with a burned/dirt taste. The rice was ok not much flavor as I'm used to at other restaurants. I'm so glad we went to try this place. The food is excellent. All freshly made and very flavorful. I love that they give you beans with their freshly prepared tortilla chips. The salsas are very tasty and have a kick to them, which I don't mind at all. Don't be fooled by the location or humble decor; for a taqueria you'll find none better. From food to price to quality to service, these guys are 6 star's accross the board. Oh, and they deliver... I can't say enough about how wonderful they are here. They genuinely care for third customers and are so attentive and kind. This place makes me never want to vacation in Latin America, because I don't think I will ever feel as integrated as I do here. My family loves Mexican food and so we thought we would give La Costa a try. It is a family owned business, which is great to support. Right away we were served bean dip, salsas and chips. The food was good and filling and the service was great and very attentive. Thumbs up on those! I am giving this a 4-star rating, however, because I think that going out to eat consists of 4 things: good food, good prices, good service, and good atmosphere. La Costa hit it on the food and service but the prices were higher than other comparable Mexican restaurants we have gone to considering the atmosphere was pretty simple. More of an atmosphere to grab your food and go, rather than somewhere you would want to sit and visit. Be aware, there is a $1.50 service fee for using the credit card machine. read more
