I got a 24 order of wings. The flavors were Basil 5 Spice, "Cajun", "Buffalo", and Thai. Pros: The wings were fried well and had a nice crunch. They were good size wings. Cons: They offer "Cajun" and "buffalo" flavors that are in no form a traditional Cajun or buffalo flavor. If you are going to advertise traditional flavors then treat them as such. Both of the flavors were noticeably sweetened which was especially strange for the Cajun. It seemed like that all 4 flavors were oddly sweetened. I generally do not expect these flavors to be sweet. Also, I called in a order and was told it would take 15 mins. I advised I would arrive in 25 mins. Our eyes were hurting from them cutting onion in the back. And we didn't figure why until another table asked us if our eyes were hurting and we said we did too and staff informed us later. The crawfish was dirty inside like black/grey where the yellow/fat/head area should be and the crawfish was dry, chewy meat and some were smelly. So i think it's dead or frozen crawfish. 1. Service - Friendly staff and great service. Order up front, grab a number, get your drink, and sit at the table assigned. This place is generally pretty pack so you have to be seated. It took me about 1-2 hours on a friday night. There's a line outside the door, so prepare to stand and watch others devour before you. I remember staring through the window while my stomach was growling. haha. 2. Price - If I recall correctly, it was roughly $6.99 for a pound of crawfish. I ate two pounds, an order of fries, with water, and paid about $20 a person. Pricey, but that's the average for a crawfish meal. 3. Ambiance - Nice hang out spot. Dress code is casual. But parking is horrible. It's not this place in particular, but the entire shopping center has a really cramped parking. You have to fight for a parking spot here. It reminds me of parking back in college at U of H. 4. Food - In February when I've last went, they were serving frozen. But it's March now, it's possible that they may have live mud crawlers. According to the cashier, she said that they will be serving fresh at a later time. I hope she's right! They have two crawfish flavors: Garlic Butter and Cajun Spicy. I've tried their Garlic butter. Flavor was good, but I should have ordered the Cajun Spicy as this is my go to seasoning. Crawfish sizes were a bit small. I'm going to confirm, this is a BYOB restaurant. You may need to get two packs of beer from Costco before coming over. 5. Cleanliness - Fast clean up as soon as a table leaves. The tables are pretty clean, but the restrooms have sticky door knobs. I expected that though. You're eating at a crawfish joint and will be hard for them to upkeep the restrooms and clean doorknobs if all the customers have dirty crawfish juices all over. They do have a back room though, maybe they can install another sink for people to just wash their hands before they go. That way, it'll free up the restroom line. read more

LA Crawfish definitely has a pretty unique vibe, with tin walls covered with assorted fishing-related accessories and Houston Sports memorabilia. There will probably be a wait, so plan accordingly. But you order at the counter-- 2-3 lbs is probably good, depending on how ravenous you are. Don't judge me, but I didn't get the crawfish. If that invalidates this review, so be it. I went for a lb of the shrimp, a lb of the snow crab legs, and an oyster po' boy because why not. Asked for "House" seasoning, which I take it is the spicy garlic mixed with the cajun spice. The oyster po' boy was pretty standard, coming with lettuce and...that's it. It was understandably dry, but the oysters were fried to perfection and fresh. The shrimp come straight out of the boiler, head, tail, whiskers, and all. The garlic flavor was strong and tasty, but I wish there was more spice in the flesh. You will get messy, so don't wear your Sunday best. The crab managed more of a kick, and had a decent amount of meat. The food was above average and the experience is definitely a fun one for newcomers, but I've been to better places with half the hype. Love this place. Their garlic butter sauce spicy is the closest thing to boiling crabs shabang sauce but within the loop. I love their wings too.. Spicy lemon pepper is my go to. And wings are huge. I also always get oysters ..they have different flavored fresh oysters. It used to be BYOB but they are getting a liquor license now. They only down side is it can get pretty busy during crawfish season so there can be a wait but it's worth it!! Update: never order to go. That being said this place is very close to where I work and live so it is my go to place for crawfish. The oysters on the other hand were very small and expensive for how big and fresh they were. LA crawfish makes their own toppings to I decided to try all of them out. There was Thai Green Chili, Japanese Ponzu, and Korean Kimchee. I personally liked the Japanese Ponzu the best but I would still just stick with traditional cocktail and horseradish sauce. Additionally, I don't think the place serves alcohol but it is BYOB. I came here with a friend because we were craving for some crawfish and our usual go-to spot didn't sell them anymore. Service was friendly, but that was about it. I ordered 2lbs of crawfish CAJUN style and 3 potatoes. When the crawfish first came out I was surprised because they were medium size and it's off season. I thought it was my lucky day! Once I opened one, I saw that the meat has turned black and brown. I smelt it and it didn't smell fresh, but had a very strange fishy odor. I opened a few more and they were all the same. There were a few that were okay, but you could tell they weren't fresh. Even if the crawfish was fresh, the cajun seasoning was lacking. I needed more flavor! I'm officially done with this place. Recent health code violations weren't the issue (Houston Health Dept is like the Mafia when it comes to violations - but anyway). They recently eliminated the soda and tea machine. All soda and tea is sold by the bottle. Water is available in a big orange cooler but the water smells and tastes like a stale big orange cooler.
