We had a mile-long list of to-dos that we just couldn't find someone to fix: plugs, timers, switches, lights, breakers, moving and cancelling lights, securing spotlights, , properly wiring our pool light, installing new cans, adding bathroom outlets...he knocked them all off the list, efficiently, neatly (gotta love it when there's no trace of work mess) and reasonably. Artin is fantastic! I would give him 10 stars if I could. The first time he helped us was at night in the middle of a rain storm. Our power had gone out and there was a smoking smell. He quickly figured out the problem and not only fixed it, but carefully explained the issue and told me what to do if it ever happened again. Then he charged an extremely reasonable rate, despite the difficult circumstances. More recently, in the era of the Coronavirus, one our sockets went dead and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I called his cell on a Saturday afternoon. He called me right back and walked me through the simple process of fixing the problem. My boss's mansion was new built in 2017, but his general contractor did such a lousy job (Smith Development) and just shove all the wires behind the wall AND refused to fix the problems when they're told to do so. 1) Time: Very fast turnaround. I called for a quote at 3:30 PM. He picked up the phone immediately and scheduled an appointment for an estimate right away. He arrived at my house at 5:45 PM the same day. He checked out what I needed done, gave me a quote, and said he could do it on the spot rather than coming back another day. He finished all four tasks by 6:45 PM. Bam! 2) Courtesy: He was polite and respectful. He changed three lightbulbs without my asking and he didn't charge me for the bulbs. So that was a pleasant surprise! 3) Price: Admittedly, I know nothing about what an electrician should be charging. But I went to my trusty Internet. According to Home Advisor his price was very reasonable (http://www.homeadvisor.com/cost/electrical/). According to this other website his price was very high, but this price range estimate is from 2012 so it might be out of date (http://work.chron.com/much-electricians-typically-charge-per-hour-6397.html). So basically, I'm not positive what's standard in this area, but I am just going to accept that I'm not streetwise and assume it was all good. Artin is reliable, great at the job and honest! You can't ask for better. Our main electrical panel went out when the buzz board broke and Artin diagnosed the problem. He wasn't sure he could find a replacement part because it was so old but he said he would try. In the meantime he gave me a quote to replace the entire panel. When it didn't seem like the part could be located I agreed to the higher quote and larger job just to get the problem solved. In the meantime, Artin did get the part we were looking for and called me to give the option of switching out the part (at a lower cost) or doing the big job. Even though Artin would have made more money and had more work he was honest enough to give me the option. I appreciated it so much. He showed up fast and on time. He completed the word as promised. THE MYSTERY OF THE HIGH-PITCHED SQUEAL: This morning a piercing noise was emanating from our patio in the general area of the fuse box. An hour later, help was on the way... After running thorough diagnostics these guys couldn't pinpoint the problem. The fuse box seemed fine, but the shrieking continued. They checked the attic, the roof, the basement, and everywhere in between. We had no answer, but these guys were tenacious... After a little more problem-solving, the guys lifted the cover off our barbecue grill and found a battery-operated meat-fork with digital thermometer that for some reason had decided to squeal uncontrollably. The batteries came out, and the thing shut-up. Problem solved. It wasn't an electrical issue after all, but these guys would not rest until they sorted out our vexing issue, and the next time we have a REAL electrical problem, we know who to call! read more
