This is a divey but delicious Mexican restaurant that I grew up going to in Galveston. I have not been here in many years, and I heard that the food was still good. I decided to try it out. The service is friendly, but don't come in a hurry because only 2 people are serving the whole restaurant. This is t the kind of place you should be in a rush at anyways. The breakfast plates and burritos are fantastic, so take your time and enjoy. On this visit I had the barbacoa plate. I am always cautious ordering barbacoa because the meat can be too fatty and unenjoyable. Their barbacoa was perfect. Tender, juicy, and meaty. It's an old building, so don't expect it to be trendy or fancy. Come here for the food.

The food here is amazing. Their breakfast is home made and served by Latin abuelitas. The service is, you walk in, grab your menus and sit wherever you want. One of the ladies will attend to you quickly. If you order coffee, it's a bottom less cup. The ambiance is a literal hole in the wall place. The decore is like if you walked into a family restaurant in Mexico. Pictures of saints, Mexican hero villains, eclectic looking. It's truly a Galvestons locals well kept secret. All of the waitresses as so sweet and make you feel at home.

They were open for Mardi Gras just selling a small menu for the awaiting parade goers. I had seen someone with a Turkey leg and asked the patron where she got it from, she pointed down the street. I walked 2 blocks and finally found this at the street corner of Ball and Rosenberg St/25th St. They had huge Turkey Legs and we had to have one! Thank you, I'm sure this menu was only for Mardi Gras, but we'll be back for some Mexican food on another trip! Thank you for the Hospitality!

June 22, 2021 It's been years since I've been in. Was in the area at the right time (they close @2) Came in for just mexicana (just the eggs) and 16 oz fresh squeezed watermelon juice (they have fresh lemonade too) Everything was delicious! Friendly staff. Old skool..."cheap" Mexican eatery ...my all time favorites. Total $3 BUY LOCAL SUPPORT LOCAL

Went back after 5 years and it was so good. Even better! I won't wait so long to go back this time.

My father use to live in Galveston and we always were so amazed at this place for their giant tacos. We always get the surprise. About 10 years later and it's just as good and the outside looks like it got a nice paint job. A must visit when in town.

Why 5 stars? Because this might be my new favorite restaurant in Galveston…read more --- --- --- We had been in Galveston for a couple of days, and while we had some solid meals, we were feeling kind of gross and overstuffed. Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions. An easy 5-stars for me and a place I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Galveston.

The food was decent, but the service was good. I tried the Captain Johnny it was crispy and…read moresatisfying, especially with a side of fries. The Vietnamese taco stood out the most for me, while the Baja and Korean flavors were just okay, not really my favorites. Overall, it's a chill spot with a relaxed vibe and not too crowded. I'd recommend coming during happy hour to get the best experience.
