The facilities are great as far as workout equipment. The steam room seems to be out of commission all the time due to people pouring water on the sensor or covering it with a towel. When I go to ask the clerk to have the breaker turned back on, they always seem too busy to be able to do that. The janitor was not there to turn it back on either. I pay to use the whole facility. Customer service here needs improvement. read more

The facility itself is pretty good -- the sales department is helpful, and the offerings are solid. Cleanliness could definitely be improved, but the main issue lies with management. Specifically, I've observed the female manager, Anna, treat women in a noticeably biased and unfair way. It's disheartening to see someone in a position of leadership display this kind of unprofessional behavior. Leadership should empower, not belittle. At this LA Fitness in Kent, of Kent Kangley Rd. It's a pretty good location, but lots of times this gym has way too many people at times. I'm not sure if they're working out or just standing around the machines talking and taking up space? It can get really crowded here, but it's nice when there is less customers cause we can get our workouts in without waiting around for something to become available. read more

Dirty bathrooms, squat rank platform squeaky and loose, broken equipment, no paper towels in the men's bathroom but apparently the women's does. Seems a little sexist. They charge $50 yearly fee yet never improve anything in the gym, only seems to be getting worse. Do better LA fitness. read more

No hot water over 1 week, hot tub been down 3 weeks, steam room doesn't steam after being "fixed" when it has been down for 6+ months. The one in covington has rusty walls in the hot tub area. I sent an email months ago and got no response. Wtf am i paying for??? Frustrating for sure! read more

I like this gym over the other ones in the area because there is more equipment and a steam room however there's a lot of issues that they need to address for it to be worth the steep membership cost. - equipment will go months without being serviced - multiple weighted machines have huge rips that they have "fixed" with masking tape. It's very unsanitary. - treadmills have display issues - 1 of the cable machines are broken - cable attachments are trashed - the sauna and steam room are gender neutral and uncomfortable to be in - the car rally in the parking lot on Friday nights is a nuisance - locker room is forever moist/wet due to the poor ventilation in the pool room. read more

The desk staff is friendly. The equipment is modern and UpToDate for the most part. Some was obviously bought to fit in with the motif even though it really isn't that functional for making progress. But that is normal for most clubs as looking good is more important to sell memberships. The gym is clean and maintained. I'm wondering how this hasn't been a health department means to shut down??? See pictures below. They have a serious black mold problem here. I recently worked out at the Kent location (address below) for the first time and was horrified to see a serious black mold problem in this gym. I'm attaching some pictures below to show what I'm talking about. This is toxic and extremely out of control. The ventilation system must be pretty bad to where moisture just builds up everywhere. A gym should have clean air considering you are there inhaling heavily while exercising and ultimately there to be healthy. Maybe a good ventilation system with some HEPA filters would be a good start. The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the LA fitnesses in the greater south of Seattle area is immensely disappointing to say the least. Members spend a good chunk of money every month to work out here and the least it could be is clean with equipment and such maintained to a safe, working standard. Legitimately the perfect LA Fitness. New, clean equipment, with a wide array of machines and free weights. Squat racks with deadlift stages that have pads for the weights to drop. A ton of cables and cardio equipment as well. The layout feels more like a theme park than a gym, with new exciting attractions around every corner. It took the best parts of the 24 Hour Fitness that was in this spot beforehand, and built on them in the LA Fitness way. Obviously people still aren't wearing masks 100% of the time, and that's a shame for safety's sake, but I feel better since this is in King County so everyone is required to be vaccinated. read more

The men's bathroom is regularly a mess. Trash on the floor, toilets and urinals not cleaned often enough. They're also curtailing the availability of Terg-o-cide spray bottles so most of the time there's none available at the front desk. During the pandemic, there were plenty. Now there are zero. Must be a cost cutting move. The staff needs customer service training. When you point out a broken piece of equipment or that the bathrooms are a mess, they look at you like "why are you bothering me?" Overall, kind of a frustrating experience with the staff and facility. read more

Chloe in the kids club is great! My kids love her. The rest of the staff is super lazy. They sit around and do nothing. Informed the sales manager Mark that the kids bathroom and women's bathroom were really gross and needed to be cleaned, he suggested I go do it. Customer service needs so much work. The gym is dirty, dark and overcrowded, with a very unhelpful staff and rude personal trainers.

Almost more than half the time I come on the weekends, they are never opened on time. A crowd of people are always waiting outside for someone to come. Their workers are young and it's as if they do not have any work ethic or know how to be on time for their shift... or early on time to open at opening hours. They open at 8 am and I'm currently still in my car waiting for them to open at 8:15 am. Whoever is the manager or is the hiring manager, should really look into who they hire or invest more time in hiring quality employees. read more

I would give 0 stars!! I requested a cancellation because I was going on a trip outside of the US. Instead, they froze my account and spam called me to pay for it. I asked again, but they made the cancellation process so difficult and insisted I mail the cancellation form to them every time I called. I want to mention that I have an accent. I asked my boyfriend to do the exact same thing, and they did the cancellation for him over the phone--he is American. Never go to this gym; it's also expensive for literally nothing. Trainer, Ray, at Kent LA Fitness, changed my world. I was medically in need of surgery due to a hip injury. The doctor suggested I try building muscle to prolong the need for surgery. I just had my one year check and I am ecstatic to say, no surgery any time soon!! The doctor gave kudos to Ray's techniques and said it is most likely the only reason I am still walking. Ray's technique involve personalize moves that target what needed. I was not there to lose weight and he helped me in the specific area that even physical therapy could not help. He also helped me improve and fix bad habits/form. My previous bad form led to my injury. He is truly a miracle worker! He does not train with preset routine. He tailors each workout to what I need and adjusts to help me improve. Again, he deserves 10 stars for helping me not have to have surgery right now! read more

This location hasn't had a working shower for the pool/spa area for several months. People get sweaty in the dry sauna and then go into the hot tub and pool. Most often people don't shower in the locker room before they go into the pool. The pool today was extremely cold (most likely heater went out again) The hot tub had long black hair floating in it and hair on the bubbles. The people at the front desk are normally really nice except an older woman that used to work in closed Kent location. She never smiles or acknowledges anyone. I really think the health department should check in on this place. read more

I stopped in here for a quick workout while in town to see my wife. I used the 7 day guest pass and was greeted by Danny, the manager on duty. After explaining that I was only in town for a little while and in a bit of a time crunch, he quickly got me through the sign in process and I was able to get started. I joined the gym because my weight was getting put of control and I was very weak and unfit. Justin set me up with personal training with Ray once a week. I followed the program they gave me. Ray is very patient, and he corrected my form. In 2 months, I'm really surprised with the results. I lost 5 percent body fat. I was pleasantly surprised with my inprogress photos. I've got more muscle definition than I have have in my life! Including my glutes,arms, back and legs. I think I look better now in my late 30s than in my 20s. The staff are very friendly and encouraging. It's worth every penny read more

Shout out to the Personal trainers Jessica and Justin that make coming to the gym a family atmosphere. I've been coming here for over a year and up until recently have not had any problems. The last 2 times I've visited this location the mens locker room has been closed. I've never heard of this happening. I'd understand if this was a 24 hr operation but seeing as it opens at 5 I don't understand why they can't get it cleaned before they open. Decent gym with standard machines nothing special. The problem is one employee who doesn't open the gym on time in the morning (5am). The gym MAY open at 5:05, 5:10 or not at all. At least 2 times that I was there no one showed up at all and I just drove home. Complaining to managers gets you nowhere. They don't give a damn. read more

On Thursday, February 15, I went to work out at the LA Fitness facility on Kent Kangley Road in Kent, WA. When I entered the gym, the music was turned up to full volume. I went to the machine I was going to work on and plugged my earphones in and couldn't hear my music because the club's music was so loud. I went up to the front desk to ask the woman if she would please turn the volume down. She told me the music was pre-programmed and she couldn't help me. I told her I was going to contact the corporate office to see if they could help but she was more interested on what was on her phone and seemed to care less. I have visited the Fairwood LA Fitness and they also have their music on but it is at a normal volume. I hope someone sees this and can help with this problem.
