Great brunch and regular menu offerings. Good local restaurant with spot on flavors. Recommended by friends for authentic Mexican cuisine.

5/5 service 5/5 mango cucumber jicama salad ($13) - so much like mango chutney, so good, I'd go back for this 5/5 Oreo cheesecake $9- on the house since it was a bday celebration, best thing I had there. Don't even like Oreos cuz too sweet but damn, this was good 3/5 tres leches $9- too sweet, but good otherwise 4/5 orange zest & vanilla flan- wish it was less sweet but the caramel on top is a bit burnt/bitter which helped balance a bit. Didn't taste orange zest tho. 3/5 Wild Mushroom pizza ($14) - Goat cheese, shallots, truffle oil. Not a fan of goat cheese since it's so pungent. Decent otherwise. 3/5 "Tacos de Camaron- Jumbo shrimp and roasted red peppers; cilantro, onion, and guacamole. Served with a side salad and red and green sauces." Decent, so much bell peppers tho. 3/5 "Quesadilla de Camaron $14- Jumbo shrimp and roasted red peppers with mashed potatoes between 2 homemade corn tortillas." Made with cornmeal or corn flour instead of tortilla. We were surprised but this is def more filling. 3/5 calamari - bit salty but decent otherwise

Stumbled upon this place while in the neighborhood. It's right off the 52st 7 train and totally worth a visit! The place was a little dark and hard to see inside, my husband thought it was a bakery but then when I looked it up there were great reviews and boy did this place have some yummy food with great prices! We started with the elote corn which was so yummy and the friend calamari! Also very good! Then we had the bbq pork torta and the shrimp tacos! Soo much food but we ate it all because we were so hungry. It was all very delicious and I would definitely come back and recommend. The inside ambiance is very local vibe with an open kitchen. The staff were very sweet and nice. Not to mention everything is very reasonable in price :) it's not manhattan prices that's for sure!

I've been to La Flor a couple of times. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food is really good, definitely home cooked. The vibe is friendly and service attentive. Check out the cool interior mosaics.

I've been here several times before this year, but I haven't been back in a while until now. I never wrote a review either. There's plenty of seating inside, so there's no need to make reservations, especially for lunch or brunch time. They serve lunch, brunch, and dinner menus here. I couldn't decide what to order here bc there was so much to choose from. I eventually chose from the dinner/ lunch menu. The waiter was really nice and patient. He gave some suggestions and examples of dishes that we had questions on. I decided on a white sangria, bistec quesadilla, and elote. The street fair elote was pretty good with the chipotle aioli lime sauce. I was very satisfied after the meal and would eventually go back.

I wanted to like this place since I always see that is packed. A nice decor so I decided to give it a try by ordering something to go. I got myself two tortas and I should've listen to the red flags before playing an order. Only 2 tortas for a Mexican place that's red flag number one. When ask if the tortas have cheese since it wasn't on the description the server had to ask! Red flag number two. When placing the order the server told me that it came with a salad! Red flag number 3. The tortas themselves had decent flavor but they came in a burger bun! Second the torta was miniature any other place, that would only cost less than 8$ and i was charged 13$. I guess they charge 5 dollars for a side salad that was only Romanian lettuce. Long story short it might be a good place outside my experience but it is most definitely not a Mexican place so beware.

My wife and I finally tried this place after 10 years of passing it by when driving from central Queens (Rego Park) to Astoria, Jackson Heights, Sunnyside, Woodside and LIC. That night we ordered appetizers, including my wife's soup of the day, which was a delicious pea soup. My starter was the chicken flautas that come dressed with red and green salsas and crema to illustrate the Mexican flag. The flautas were hot and crispy right out of the fryer, filled with chicken and mashed potatoes. This dish was perfect. My wife's entree was the carne asada torta which she said was delicious. She simply wanted something mild since she doesn't tolerate spicy food well, and also with the help of the friendly waitress she had navigated a number of allergens. The sandwich came with a side of greens. I chose the nuclear option: the molcajete with hangar steak, fresh corn, nopales (cactus), grilled jalapeño and mashed potatoes. The entire spectacle was delicious and beautifully presented in a stone molcajete. We would definitely try this place again which was only overlooked since we have lots of choices of authentic Mexican food.

Good food, reasonable prices. The way things should be. Stopped by for brunch with a friend as it was close to our Airbnb and I liked it a lot. Very cozy and homey spot. I got the steak and eggs, and everything was seasoned nicely, and I left feeling satisfied. The food isn't too heavy/greasy which was nice. The service was good. Not much else to say lol

My kids and I rolled into the Chase Sapphire Lounge at LaGuardia's Terminal B, and I will not lie to you... it made me a little sad. Not in a bad way. Sad because Denver doesn't have one of these, and now I know what I'm missing every single time I fly out of DIA. Here is the deal. Made-to-order cocktails. REAL ones. Not the sad pour-your-own well whiskey situation you get at most lounges. A bartender. Craft drinks. Actual effort. And the food? You sit down. A server comes to you. You ORDER. Like a restaurant. I got a sandwich that had no business being that good inside an airport terminal. The kids got NA cocktails... and they were into it. Like genuinely excited. That alone tells you something about how this place operates. Oh and there are facials up on the second level. Complimentary. We didn't plan for the time, so we skipped it, but... that's a thing that exists. In an airport. In New York. (I know.) I'm a loyal United lounge guy and that's not changing. But this Sapphire Lounge? It's the first time I've ever actively rooted for a flight delay. That is not a sentence I expected to type. Damn you, Denver. Get one of these.

The mafadine pasta was a good pick adorned with springy components like pea leaves and a compelling Parmesan vibe. Maybe I like vegetables more than I thought? The steelhead carpaccio special was a stunner. Based on my 1.5 bites of monkfish I'd also endorse that. This may be more of a "DVD extra" but when I originally looked up the QB many of the top-ranked items were breakfasts and some were p-zza (reverse SEO). Based only on lower-left menu placement I would say don't go that route and that specials are a good bet. Again this is only based on 1.5 bites but the eggplant parm special had great sauce. I'm undecided on the watermelon granita which wasn't all that watermelony but spicy dessert was different. I was surprised by how much I liked the edamame, since you can get that everywhere, but the Japanese 7-spice add an intriguing citrus kick.

Food: 3.5/5 We made it a point to try a range of brunch options. My grandfather ordered the sweet potato and chorizo hash, I went with the two-egg combo with pork sausage (eggs over easy), and my husband chose the Moroccan eggs. Overall, the food was good and flavorful, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit more nuance and influence from Spanish or Mexican flavors. That said, as someone who leans more toward classic American diner-style brunch, it didn't fully hit that nostalgic spot for me. It's not that anything was bad--it just wasn't the most memorable brunch I've had. Still, it was nice to explore a different side of their menu beyond the burgers, fries, and pasta we'd tried before. Service: 4/5 The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, they do rely on a QR code-style menu, which can be a bit of a learning curve--especially for those who prefer a more traditional ordering experience. During the brunch rush, things definitely got busy and a bit overwhelmed, so service slowed down slightly. One tip: if you already know what you want, it's best to order everything upfront to avoid delays. Vibe: 3.5/5 Like many New York spots, space is tight. Even as a party of four, we were seated at a small square table, which could be challenging if you have strollers or extra belongings. That said, the space still feels cozy and neighborhood-friendly--great for a casual brunch, just not the most spacious. All in all, It's a solid neighborhood brunch spot with interesting, flavor-forward dishes and kind service. I wouldn't call it my top brunch destination, but I'd come back if I were in the area--especially if I was craving something a little different from the usual diner fare.
