    Carne Asada Burrito - HUGE!
    Scott G.

It's a food truck people. But it's an amazing food truck! The staff is very pleasant and I tried the Carne Asada Burrito and the Carne Asada Fries. Both were excellent. I'd give the an 8/10. I love the choice of four salsas and they tasted good. I didn't try the hottest one, but the other three all had different flavors and I loved that. If you want to eat there, they have two picnic tables with umbrellas and the experience was nice. Give this place a shot. I think they are there all the time.

We've tried the breakfast tacos, burritos, birria tacos, and carne asada fries, and each one has been packed with flavor.

You can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in what he does. Tonight his special was wild bison, burgers which I ordered and I also ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. I really liked the mushroom Swiss burger. He said that that's one of his favorites and I can see why. I thought the food was really tasty. It was $50 for 2 burgers and 2 fries. I like to frequent local places, so this will be a burger place that I will keep in rotation. Check them out.

I am not sure what I was expecting, but I definitely thought they were in a more centralized location. They are not too far from State Street but not close to too many other businesses either. The great news is, they have a wide open parking lot with plenty of spaces. Their food truck is super cute. It hardly looks like a truck and resembles more of a massive wagon. They really went all out with the branding and I am here for it. With it being a parked food truck, they didn't have a lobby or an inside but they did have some tables and chairs right outside their truck. Upon approaching the truck, a guy came to stand beside me and take my order. I was not 100% sure what I wanted but I elected for their signature burger with fries. He said that he could bring it out to my car once it was ready, which I extra appreciated because it was not a very nice day out. My total was just shy of 20 bucks, at $19.27. I sorta understand. I mean, they're a local food truck and it seems that they strive to provide much better quality food than other fast food places...but this is pretty steep for just a burger and fries. The food did seem to come out pretty fast and I was excited to try it. The onion on the burger was a bit large, it was almost an inch thick and I think I would've preferred it cut up just a little more. The fries were pretty good but tasted a bit greasier than I would've liked. I did like that it came with a fry sauce. All in all, I really liked Burger Pioneers. I felt that all the flavors were a bit overpowering and almost bitter because of the greasy taste, but it wasn't a bad burger spot. I hope to be back when the weather is nicer with some friends. This is probably such a cute, fun spot in the summer time!
