We have been coming here for years and we never have a bad experience! The food is always hot and fresh, the employees are friendly and check to see if you need anything very frequently. Their chips and salsa are so good! They've changed their salsa over the years and what they have now is the best they've ever had. It's not that spicy but has lots of flavor. We usually get the chicken chimichanga plater and the chicken or steak smothered buritto and add onions on top. The portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. read more

Found plastic in my food. Definitely will not be eating here or recommending it again. I had to drive back and bring all the food to get refunded. They were nice about it, but in the case where the customer comes and picks up the meal and then has to drive it back for a refund - I feel there could have been something else offered. read more

Came here for the first time a few weeks ago. The food was well cooked and tasty. If one doesn't enjoy spicy food then one should be aware of what you are ordering. Seeing negative reviews because it's "too hot", then go somewhere else. As an educated foodie, I ordered menudo which should be full of spices and flavors, I will say that the recipe used for this menudo lacked any spiciness at all. The meat was well cooked but there was no flavor. I've had many different types of menudo in Mexico and in Utah and it just was missing all the crucial elements of a good meal. Color was right, the meat was good well, the base was good but again, lacked spices. Given the area, perhaps people cannot handle the spicy foods, but most people who choose a Mexican restaurant can and want it. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive and fun to talk to. There is an opportunity to use fly catchers. The flies bothered me. read more

I feel bad giving a negative review because their customer service was so great! Efficient, accurate order taking over the phone. Everyone in masks. The guy who rang me up was very friendly and even helped me carry my order to my car. But the food was not great. My son says the nachos are awesome and he begged me to bump the review up to 3 stars. The chips were soggy, the guac has a weird bitterness to it. I ate a few chips and decided to just have leftovers for lunch instead. My daughter's fries were limp and she said the chicken was just okay. The Horchata is way too cinnamony. And the churros should have had their topping on the side like everything else- they were mushy where the topping had started to dissolve them. What a bummer. :( read more

The food is decent, customer service is superb, and we love that we can order ahead and drive-through to pick up our order. However... we have had the wrong order several times in a row now--a smothered burrito with literally ONLY pork (no chiles, no cheese, nothing else), and the last time we ate there, they gave me the avocado pit in the guacamole--meaning I basically got no guacamole, since it was just a small scoop that was mostly pit. I won't say that we will never eat there again but I will say it won't be any time soon. read more

I used to go out of my way to drive here like I did today past two other locations just to get poor quality, smothered burritos hard to pay for smothered burritos with no pork, barely any beans and a thin, tiny tortilla except yet to our surprise when we got home, that's exactly what we got. I don't make many reviews. But I have to say something. I'm from out of town visiting my Gma who is recovering from a fall and she wanted La Fountain rather than the cafeteria food. This has got to be the most disrespectfully put together "burrito" I have ever ordered. I'll let the pictures justify my experience. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else. This was the "grilled chicken burrito." Not sure if the folk here in Utah traditionally do it like this but... that's a no for me. My Gma had a Cheese and Bean burrito and hers was rolled up better but cheese was not melted even after a 15 minute drive back to the rehab center. So basically it was not even hot enough to melt any cheese. Wouldn't recommend it whatsoever. read more

On the recommendation of a friend, I tried this Mexican restaurant. First, I ordered hard shell tacos, with rice and beans. I received soft tacos, which was about $5 more than the hard shell tacos would be. That should have been my first clue. The taco meat is very bland and tasteless. The rice and beans could use a little more salt, but are good. When I called the restaurant they offered to give me hard shell tacos right then, or to give them to me later. I opted for later, but now I'm not sure I'll pick them up. Seriously underwhelmed with the ground beef option. read more

I took my family here and they loved it. It was the second time and I was impressed both times. I loved the chimichanga. The fajitas were great. The fried ice cream with churros is fabulous. I love their salsa! So far everything my family has tried there has been great. There were nine of us the last time, and I did not realize that they charge a gratuity for over six people. I did not enjoy my meal here. First of all, the portion sizes are gigantic which normally shouldn't be something to complain about, but when it means even MORE bad food... You see what I mean. My chicken enchiladas were bland, drenched in tasteless sauce and topped with way too much cheese. They sat in a pool of all of that. I've always found La Fuente (which is now La Fountain incidentally, the chain has gone through several name changes in the last few years) to be decent quality Mexican food and comparable to other similar chains. Their lunch and dinner specials in particular are superb value for money. I have tended to be more of a frequent visitor to the one out on 5600 West mainly because it's near to my work and I have work colleagues who enjoy it too, so that tends to be the one I compare any of their locations to, but I am happy to report the food quality is just as good here as in any other of their restaurants in the chain. They do seem to have consistency down really well when it comes to the food and that's certainly no bad thing and for me in many ways is what makes me go back along with the great prices and speed of service. They have all that at this location too, but personally I found the ambiance here to be rather lacking or clinical and the service not quite as personable but the latter could have just been luck of the draw. Went here last night off of a recommendation on Facebook. Atmosphere/decor- reminds me of a fast food joint. Chips and Salsa- chips were already set out on most the tables. Right away get a feeling they are not fresh because you don't know how long it's been on the table. They were crunchy though, not warmed. Salsa.. not a fan. I like chunky, they have bland purée salsa. Menu and pricing- I felt the menu was confusing. You can't mix and match items to make a combo. You can get 3 bean and cheese burritos with no rice and beans or two bean and cheese with rice and beans....? Who wants 3 of the same items? I like to have a crunchy taco and another items, depending on my mood with rice and beans. To be able to do this, it would have been a $16/$18 plate at a dive that looks like a fast food joint. I would have had to order the main plate and a side item. No thank you. Also, be careful about the up charges. Overall I think they are missing their mark on pricing and combination options. The atmosphere and food quality don't justify the price. Food- nothing terrible but for the price I expected more( not quantity but taste and quality) I got the shredded beef chimichanga. If you like a lot of dry, tasteless, shredded beef go for it. I will say they do give huge portions so if you like large portions of food but not good quality and taste this might be good for you. Though people who like that don't typically like to spend the kind of money these people are asking for. I would not recommend this restaurant. The service is always great--keeping waters filled and bringing more chips if the order isn't out yet. On my very first visit I was turned off by a pretty blah taco, but now that I order the chicken enchilada (YUM!) I crave La Fountain regularly. The portions are huge and the food is good. This place just wasn't my favorite. The quantity was AWESOME. Our combination plate was easily enough food for two hungry adults (or even three light eaters), but nothing was in the least bit memorable. Lots of yellow cheese, kind of funky beans, and canned enchilada sauce, all topped in tons of shredded lettuce was the rule. There was not much difference in taste between the burrito, enchilada, tostada, etc. It's not that it was horribly bad, it was just totally unmemorable, kind of a sit-down Taco Bell. I've been here once previously and recall it not being so bad. So, I'm solo for dinner and decided to stop here for some takeout. They were not the friendliest bunch. They were not rude, but also not really nice either. For example, I wasn't greeted or offered a menu. I got one myself and asked if I could place my order. I got a smothered burrito with rice and beans and a side of chips and salsa. Portions are GIGANTIC!! This was enough food to feed a family of four. So you do get your moneys worth. The parking lot is always full. So, I think that's why. You could feed your family with one meal. Haha! My wife and son decided to go here for lunch. Mistake. I ordered the special which was a small combination, my son got a kids cheese enchilada, my wife got the chilie relleno. There were only 5 tables. We had to ask for drinks and chips and salsa. All the servers and managers were sitting directly across from us in a booth. When they decided to place or order they messed up the drinks, water with lemon, diet coke, coke they brought us all sprites. They brought out our food. My sons enchiladas the tortillas were hard and barley had any cheese or sauce. My wife's chillie rellleno was not battered in egg it was just a green chillies with cheese and sauce on top, it was supposed to be stuffed with cheese as well. My combination a taco, tostada, enchiladas. What I got was a hot mess, there was no lettuce or tomato on the taco or tostada everything was just covered in beans and taco meat. When I asked the manager he said that he would take it off my bill but never did. Excellent food. My Chili Verde sauce was awesome. Lots of pork in the sauce. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I even ordered the cheeseburger and fries for my son because he's a very picky eater and doesn't like Mexican food. He ate the entire dinner. I snuck a couple of fries and Wow they were awesome too. After four sick kids and a really creepy experience I am choosing to write one of my first really bad reviews. Walked in with whole family knowing we'd probably drop a hundo at the place. First thing I noticed was they had already "pre-placed" chips on the tables for people. How nice of them? no How nasty. They'd been sitting out for how long. Got to see a little guy grab one of the chips as he left also. Nice 8 dinner plates gave us a good idea of the caliber of food. Nachos, mixed fajita plate, chicken burrito, enchiladas, hamburger for the kid. Nachos came out looking good with no sour cream though. I asked for it and it was delivered in a plastic single serving tube. Just interesting. Mixed fajita plate felt more like the bologna of meat plates. What ever was left over from the butcher table was sizzled up and delivered. The tortillas were brought to the table in a paper towel. By the time I finished the first tortilla, the other one was hard. Chicken burritos were delivered alone on a plate. Shredded chicken in a tortilla that was as brittle as the one in the paper towel. 9 bucks. Cheeseburger might have been the best buy. Off the kids menu. 3.95. I did have to make a call back to warn them of possible food poisoning. 80 bucks was a waste. Unfortunately, this Texan is still searching for good Utah mexican food. read more

I should start this out by saying I am looking for a replacement of my old favorite Mexican food place. I recently moved to South Jordan from Provo and I had some high hopes of finding a Los Hermanos replacement. La Fuente is not it. The service was good, but I just wasn't happy with the flavors in the food. I always order a bean chimichanga which isn't on the menu, but they were kind enough to make it for me anyway. The hubby ordered the fajitas which were decent, but the flavor just wasn't quite right. OK place to go, not my favorite. Probably wouldn't go back.
