I seriously cannot say enough about this bistro! First, the ambience is beyond gorgeous, me, and my daughters sat outside on the patio and was able to look out at the ocean view. Secondly, the service was the most amazing service, I had my whole entire week in San Clemente. All the ladies who helped us were so kind and friendly! This service made me come back 3 times in total, to enjoy the food and views. My last day in town, I spoke with the wait staff and let them know what a great job they are doing; They were friendly and so grateful. The food was delicious and so delightful. The chicken sandwich had roasted chicken with bacon and a delicious aïoli. That was honestly such a good mix. The brioche bread they put the chicken on was fluffy and flavorful. My daughters got a Nutella crêpe and berries and cream crêpe. Both were delicious and a good portion size. Their sourdough toast with jam was a favorite of ours, we got it every single time we went. On prime ocean view real estate along the beach, this little eatery has lots of charm, and fortunately it was perfect sunny day in San Clemente for outdoor al fresco dining. The main serving lady/boss lady with a unique accent(French? Belgian? Quebec?) was very friendly and 110% genuine. $14 Salmon Crepe...loaded with eggs, onions, a decent amount of smoked salmon, wrapped in a perfectly soft warm French Burrito, opps!, I mean crepe, with a sprinkle of capers and lemon scented creme fraiche. $11 Nutella Banana Crepe...yes, because I'm a fatty with a big appetite! The best thing about La Galette Creperie is their location right across the street from the ocean. You can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Foodwise, well, I have yet to find a place in the OC that does crepes well. I ordered a mushroom and spinach breakfast crepe ($13), but it turned out to be more like an omelette wrapped in a thick crepe, with some sauce on top. Maybe the dessert crepes are the way to go. If you're thinking about ordering one of the crepes with eggs in it, you might just want to opt for an omelette instead. Prices are pretty decent, considering the location. Service was good. We came here for Sunday brunch a few weekends ago and I have found myself craving the same meal several times since then. There was a long wait for a table but you can put your name and number down and walk across the street to the pier to enjoy the view while you wait. Tables are all outside, simple and they do have some umbrellas for shade. Ben liked his Chicken Apple Sausage and potatoes crepe. Just leaving a note to say that I showed up here today (11/23/24) to meet a friend and the location seems closed while they pursue a permit to expand into the retail next door. When a restaurant has a great location, they frequently have so-so food because they can. Not La Gallete! The location is great-right across the street from the train station and the beach. Our lunch was delicious-a BLT with smoky, slightly sweet, thick cut bacon, house made ceviche, and a delicious avocado toast on hearty bread with some red pepper flakes and pickled onions. The house balsamic vinaigrette was slightly sweet and delicious on the mixed greens salad. It was difficult to choose from the refreshing specialty cocktails but we had one selection from the hangover remedy section -lychee (strawberry) by the sea-one from the champagne cocktails-bubble trouble. Despite the location and the great food, the food selections are priced between $10-$20 making La Galette reasonably price. Just a lovely lunch! read more

Wonderful French crepe cafe. The Mushroom and Spinach crepe, add bacon, was excellent. They essentially make a French folded omelette and then wrap a crepe around it and top it off with Bechamel sauce (kind of like Alfredo for those who don't know). The Nutella banana crepe was amazing with a generous amount of Nutella inside. I highly recommend paying for the extra berries on top to keep it interesting. The side of nicely seasoned breakfast potatoes rounded out the meal. Outdoor seating right at the oceanfront in the most happening part of town, right by the San Clemente Pier. It's everything you want from a sweet, cream cheese, fruit crepe for breakfast. The slight savoriness of the crepe and its texture complement the smooth creaminess of the sweet cheese filling and bites of fruit perfectly. Every bite is worth stretching out and enjoying. You have incorrect information on this. These people are open but now under another name called Frenchies. The service is below par and the food a disappointment. It is under new ownership and the old owner who was from Belgium apparently moved back or left in a hurry over the past 4 months (don't know if this is related to recent immigration situation) leaving the restaurant deserted. Her food was wonderful. These people have no idea what they are doing and it is most certainly not the same food. The waiter staff act more like bussers and have no idea how to approach customers. They have a lot of options for brunch and their specialty is definitely their crepes but I decided to get a omelette while my friend got the chicken apple sausage and potatoes crepe. The dishes came out fairly fast and we dug in! My omelette came with bacon, spinach, and mushrooms along with sourdough toast. The toast was crispy and the jelly served with it was great. The omelette itself was delicious! My friend shared some of her crepe and I loved the taste of the chicken apple sausage! So good! I do have to note they serve water in small plastic cups but the servers were always around refilling them. Our server(s) were great as well. We didn't really have just one server but all 3 of them were great and paid a lot of attention to us. After a 3.5 mile walk, this place checked all I needed for a brunch meal. Every year, my family makes a trip out to San Clemente. Every year, grabbing crepes at this spot is one of my favorite parts of the week. This crepe restaurant is located directly across the street from the pier, with beautiful views of the ocean. What more could you ask? A little up the hill, there is plenty of parking. Right now, with everything going on, they are practicing great social distancing with a nice little build-out of the restaurant into the street so that they can still seat enough people. They're pretty quick at turning over tables (sanitizing and everything) so it didn't take long for us to get seated. We did have to split up our family though, because there's only 6 people to a seat right now. Normally, I would get a big cup of joe and a crepe, but I actually opted out of the coffee this time. The crepe I always get, and have been getting for the past I don't even know how many years, is the nutella and banana crepe with added strawberries. I love the way they put together their crepes here, too. They place the fruit on the outside, so it doesn't get soggy inside, which I appreciated. Right now, they're serving everything with plastic and paper throw-away plates, which is fine! The service here is also really amazing, too. Our waitress was super friendly and our food came out pretty fast despite them being super busy for a beautiful Saturday morning. Can't wait till next year when I get to come back again! read more

This charming breakfast/lunch spot has some great food, and wonderful staff. While I have not tried the breakfast crepes, I can tell you the avocado toast, the french toast, and the black forest sandwich are all fantastic choices. I'd recommend subbing bacon in for the ham. For lunch, the roasted chicken sandwich is really good (add avocado!). And the poke bowl is flavorful and big, but not too filling. Lastly, the cocktails! My Style Mimosa is how I make them at home--mimosa with a splash of vodka (you can do gin or tequila though). Kona Koffee is another great cocktail for brunch accompaniment. Lastly, the staff are so kind and accommodating. Anna and Brian (?) are the managers and go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. We stopped here on a Saturday for lunch during the Ocean Festival in San Clemente, and were extremely happy with the service and food. The check in to get your name on the list is efficient and the wait was less than 10 min. We are locals and walked from North Beach, and had our dog with us, and they had no problem accommodating us as all they have is outdoor seating. Our group ordered avocado toast with an egg, the bacon, egg and cheese crepe, the banana Nutella crepe, and the bacon and cheese omelette. Everything was fantastic. See pics. My only complaint was when I ordered a dirty chai with two shots, and that translated to chai latte, no espresso shots, so it was really bland. Took home about half theMushroom and Spinach Crepe, which was huge, along with most of the side of scrambled eggs.
