House Salad with arugula, tomato, cucumber, and balsamic dressing.
Carson M.

My family and I were exploring Grass Valley and came across this local Italian restaurant and saw that it had great reviews online. The restaurant was cozy and had lovely artwork. Once we had ordered I went to use the restroom and almost hit my head twice on the broken door hinge. When I came back we were served lunch and my waiter forgot to make sure my Fettuccine Alfredo had chicken as requested. I didn't say anything and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was new. Once we concluded the meal it felt like they forgot about us and we were waiting an extended amount of time to pay the check. The owner came to bring out a dessert for me which was on the house because it was my birthday. I thought it was really sweet and so did my parents but we were also trying to hit the road on our journey. Overall the lunch was decent but I also hope they can make some improvements.

Very good pizza and options. The menu is limited, so check before you go. Beer and wine options. Atmosphere is casual.

I heard you were open for lunch through a yelp notification ? Is it true?

yes! open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am to 8:30pm

Why aren't your hours posted anywhere?

Hi! You can find our hours on our business profile here on Yelp, or on Google, or you can download our latest menu on our website www.lagastronomia.us We are open Wednesday…

Does anything come with sandwiches Are the pizza large?

The sandwiches come on their own (and they are fantastic). I find that a small side salad ($4) really rounds out the meal. The pizzas are medium-sized. Someone with a REALLY big appetite could eat a whole one at one sitting. I have managed about 2/3…

Do they serve beer or wine?

We will at the end of the month hopefully! Beer & Wine license coming

Bicycle Thief absolutely lived up to the hype! We ordered a half Brooklyn and half Phoenix pizza,…read morewhich was the perfect way to try two very different flavor combinations. Both sides were excellent--the crust had just the right balance of crisp and chew, and the toppings were fresh and thoughtfully put together. The real surprise, though, was the Caprese salad with peaches. It was so unbelievably good that we completely forgot to take a picture before it disappeared. Honestly, it's one of the best salads I've ever had. The peaches added just the right amount of sweetness, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. By the time we finished, I was completely stuffed, but my boyfriend still found room for the homemade Oreo and mint ice cream. I was too full to try it, but judging by how quickly it vanished, I'm guessing it was just as good as everything else we ordered. The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere that feels welcoming without trying too hard, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. Bicycle Thief is absolutely worth the drive to Grass Valley, and we'll be making it a point to come back.

One of our two pizzas was well-past overdone, but they were gracious in replacing it. May have been an off-day, but the service was slow and it seemed like we were ignored, waiting 20 minutes (after we were seated) before being acknowledged. Probably won't be back for the pizza, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it an awful experience. The place was cozy and clean, and the seat was comfortable. They have a gluten-free crust option for those who shun gluten.

They just replaced all the tables and chairs and the entire restaurant looks great. They are trying to allow more people to come in and enjoy their pizza since it is very good pizza. The staff are all friendly, very helpful and the owners are incredible and care a lot about all of their customers. They're very friendly. There were also complaints about the Arcade and the pricing you can't get a bottle of water basically these days for less than five dollars so expecting to do anything for entertainment for five dollars is definitely an over expectation. You do have to consider that many of the arcades are distributing prizes that have to come overseas and we all know about tariffs and what they have done to businesses so thankfully these businesses are still able to operate, but nothing is cheap these days, including the price of food and or gas so you can't expect to go out and spend $15 and get pizza and get entertainment. That's not even close to reality! I'm sure not every product that's put out is perfect but this restaurant tries hard. They put out a very good product. It's good and they do their BEST! You have to take each complaint with a grain of salt because every customer is different and some people like to just complain unfortunately. The restaurant does have a variety of games. They have a big party room available and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I had high hopes with this place being under new ownership and good reviews but it was worse than…read moreever and definitely the worse place for an overpriced pizza in Nevada County! For starters, I placed my order around 3pm for 5pm and got there about 5:03. There was one person ahead of me and after the cashier helped them they just walked away without even acknowledging me. I let them know I had placed an order and added a drink and salad bar. She gave me those with no mention of my pizza and how long it would be, no number or anything. I walked back up 15 minutes later asking if I needed a number and apparently she set it on the counter while I was trying to get my salad but without mentioning it. Getting a salad was a huge task and killed my back (I'm 5'9" and in my 40's). The salad bar was about 3 ft high with huge glass covering everything about 3 rows back and 3ft away and I could barely reach anything after bending way down. The lettuce was only iceberg and not very fresh and $10 for 1 trip! My pizza finally came out 25 minutes late and the person dropping it off was walking away really fast, I wanted to say thank you but all I could get out was "that's not right." as it was not made the way I ordered it. Her response was "I'll go check" as if it was possibly my fault. This was around a $45 pizza for a large. She came back 15 minutes later with a Luke warm pizza with hard crust and with what looked and tasted like microwaved pineapple added to it and said nothing, no apology no acknowledging their mistake or that my pizza was now 40 minutes late. It seemed like they just waited a long time to make it seem like they remade it, it was bad! Just an overpriced crap pizza. It also was too small to fit the large pan so I kind of got a medium at the large price. They only had one trash can that was literally overflowing. Yes, it was a Friday night, yes it was busy, but that is no excuse for bad food and poor service at a steep price. The arcade that costs 6+ credits a game (I think $5.25 for 20 credits so basically 3 games) does not make up for this! Also, with the new cheap tables and chairs it's set up to pack way too many people in there and it's uncomfortable to try to walk around. Obviously, they only care about packing them in and getting them out and not the product or customers. They're getting 2 stars because I didn't see any cock roaches and I'm in a good mood

It was canadian bacon instead of ham and small amounts of Pineapple with small amount of cheese. I saw that I'd have to add cheese and pineapple so thought I should get a Ceasar Salad too. Anyway, here's my experience: Wandered in on a Tuesday and was surprised to see they had their specials going on. $13.99 for a large, but the family size is also discounted. We ordered 3 specialty Family size pizzas and only spent $50. Like, what. *mind blown* Talk about a good deal. The pizzas were made up for us in a matter of 10 minutes or so, and we were on our way. No issues with the food, and the pizzas were delicious. I only take one star away because the lady at the register wasn't too friendly. She didn't do anything wrong necessarily, but she also did not smile or have a very welcoming demeanor with that, our experience with her was pretty brief and did not impact the food once we pulled it out of the oven. Overall, if you are looking to save some money pizza night, I definitely recommend coming here on Tuesdays.

We ordered a house sausage pizza and to add the salami to the pizza which was a great choice loved the pizza we watched it get made right in front of us and their bacon and cheddar melt. I personally though the bacon and cheddar melt was fine I probably wouldn't order it again looking back on it just simply on the fact it was $21 and the pizza was $23 it just felt very boring and overpriced in comparison to the pizza. I do love the sustainability of this place but find it odd the water cups are plastic after all the effort put into reusable, sustainable, organic, and farm fresh It definitely eat here again especially with the fact the menu is always changing the pastries here were a hit every other table had something from the bakery or a pizza. This is a great spot to come on a date or with a bunch of friends. I haven't tried the brews here yet but I'm looking forward to it. The staff here are very sweet and food comes out quickly. I paid because I only had an hour for lunch and needed to eat. I got my mocha and sat down to wait for my sandwich. As I waited, I noticed several people who ordered after me receiving their food while I was still sitting there. About 15 minutes later, I finally received my to-go sandwich. When I opened the container, it was obvious it had been sitting there for a while. The sandwich was sweaty, and half of it was soggy. Apparently, they had forgotten to bring it to me. By that point, my mocha was already gone before I had even started eating. The BLT itself was made on regular-sized sandwich bread, and the tomatoes and bacon were good. But $34 for a basic BLT and a small iced mocha is outrageous, especially considering the wait and the condition of the sandwich when I finally received it. I will not be going back. The prices are simply far too high for what you get.
