We went on a Friday for lunch and they were busy but we were seated right away. Our server was…read moresuper sweet and did a great job. I ordered the Ribeye street tacos which are ribeye tips, (I cut the onions), cilantro, queso fresco soft corn tortillas with avocado salsa and spicy red sauce. I love hot food and this sauce was hot to me. So good! It also came with black beans which had great flavor. The restaurant has a Spanish, airy feel to it. It was clean and I would go back to this location again.

Gringo's is a Tex Mex chain, the name is fitting because there are a lot of honkies up in here. I…read moresay that with love because the food is pretty good. It's not the best but it's reasonably priced, the margaritas are good and everybody is having a good time. This location is nothing different. We were out in the Conroe area helping my Mother in law with her lake house and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Seafood Enchiladas, my wife had the Presidente Combination and my mother in law ordered the Cozumel Chicken Salad. The shrimp in my Seafood enchiladas were cooked well but they didn't have that snap that really good shrimp have. Also, the seafood is on top of the enchiladas, and the flavors blend in with the cheese and the sauce. The enchiladas on their own is just cheese. The charro beans didn't taste Tex Mex enough, it was all sausage and like a ranch flavor My wife had the Presidente enchiladas. I tasted them and again all the flavor comes from the sauce on top. My mother in law's Cozumel Chicken Salad looked really pretty. I didn't take a bite though because that would've been weird. I like Gringo's and would come back to this location. We had good service and the restaurant was clean and well kept. I love that they offer red and green salsa, although their chips are a little thicker than I like. Overall it's a decent meal at a reasonable price... and the margaritas are fantastic, I really thought about getting one but can't let the mother in law think I'm a drunk.

The previous dining experience before this one, was not good, but I didn't post about it. I was really hoping it was a one time issue. The chips were so greasy you feared eating them for getting sick. The manager acknowledged how bad they were, and said they had an issue with the supplier. He said rather than not serve chips, they decided to serve them. They were inedible. Also the once delicious salsa has gotten watery. After my food arrived, I sent the taco back because the shell was the same as the chips. So greasy and the taco poured grease out of it. This last trip, the chips were better, but still very greasy and tasteless. The nachos I had would be about the quality of Chilis. No refried beans. Most restaurants layer refried beans, cheese and meat for SIX almost $20 dollar nachos. The chicken fajita meat was dry, and the beef was not good. A few bites were not edible. Another note- The once delicious tortillas were super thick and gummy. The manager came by and I explained everything to him . He didn't have much to say and didn't really seem concerned... other than taking off $2 of the bill. Which I do appreciate! It's still a beautiful restaurant, just sadly the food has changed too much for it be a top place for me.

You choose a numbered spot, text the restaurant where you are and the staff will bring the food to your car. During the summer, this is greatly appreciated so I don't sweat in my work clothes. I also do enjoy their food. Some of my favorite are the fajita platters, the chicken tinga enchiladas, mixed ceviche and the chicken flautas. The only thing I've ever ordered that I didn't like were the seafood enchiladas. I was surprised that the enchilada itself is a cheese enchilada with a few pieces of seafood on top. It wasn't what I expected. I will definitely be back!

Michael was our server, he had a great personality, made sure our drinks stayed full and made sure to get our birthday girl a group to sing the signature song. I had the large gold margarita which tasted great! For dinner I chose the chicken quesadillas which are always cooked just a little crispy on the outside, gooey cheese inside and plenty of chicken. The restaurant was loud but we could still hear each other enough to talk. All in all in was a great dinner and we had a good time.
