Saw that La Hacienda was one of the few places that stayed open late (11pm) and was impressed with the ratings on DoorDash. We proceeded to order a feast. The California steak burrito was massive and filled with delicious tender steak - think long slices and not cubed steak. Mexican rice on the side was delicious too. The service is good so that's why I gave it a 2 stars otherwise it's just a 1 or less. We ordered the chipotle enchiladas and the cheesesteak burrito. Both were served pretty much cold. The chipotle enchiladas were supposed to be cheese but they were chicken (shredded from a can) and they were cold. The burritos were a good portion but also cold. Both meals were below average for even a bad Mexican place. We only came here cause it was a Sunday night and everything else was closed. Overall, the servers/ host were really sweet, but the food was below average for an average Tex mex place. I've been here a few times and usually order the special rice with chicken. This dish is obviously my favorite thing here and will hit all of the notes of salty, cheesy cream queso drenched over rice. My only regret is that this dish is somewhat smaller than some of the portions at other family-owned, local Mexican restaurants. Their chips and salsa are complimentary. The chips are warm and fresh. I also enjoy their salsa which is more fresh with finely chopped tomato than what you would get out of a jar/chunky, picante style. This time I tried their margarita for the first time and was disappointed. I had a frozen mango house margarita and the texture was somewhat foamy and smoothy-like versus being sharp and icy which is what I'm used to for a frozen margarita. Plus, it was not that cold. The chalky, foamy texture made me think that they used a mango powder mix or something. It just wasn't very satisfying or fresh. It cost $9.75 and while it was a big margarita (size medium per the menu), I wouldn't get it again. read more

We ordered take out and the food was delicious. The order taker on the phone was very polite. The only issue we had is I had ordered 2 chicken chimichangas and we got 2 seafood chimi's. I wonder why the bill came out so expensive. Those that ate the chimi's said it was very good, but they weren't expecting seadfood. It came with shrimp, scallops, and they believe lobster. Love this place! We drive from buford. The sopes are great and the carnitas are amazing! They are seasoned perfectly and are so DELICIOUS!! The restaurant was very clean and the waitress was very good. I definitely recommend the sopas here. I will be back for sure! Ok im changing my review. The carnitas are not consistent! The first time we went they were so good. The next two times they had no flavor and were greasy. I asked why so different and they said they have two different cooks so they are different. Im sorry but all your cooks should have the same recipe. So basically you dont care that your food is only good half the time?! When we first started coming 3 years ago we really liked the food, atmosphere and service but it's definitely gone downhill. The last few times we've been our server was too distracted watching futbol and didn't bring our food or drinks.. our food was cold.. and my daughter's quesadilla cheese wasn't melted but the tortilla was burnt. The manager argued with us and said they weren't watching futbol and didn't even apologize for the poor food or service. The next time we went my La Hacienda bowl was completely cold. Partner and I ordered food to go on 2-14-22. We were excited to see the Quesabirria as an option on the menu, I have been wanting to try these for a while. We ordered those as well as the pork carnitas. Both came with rice and beans. The cost was $32.00 (est.) The food was ready in about 15 mins. It was to go, but it was well packaged and the onions and cilantro were separated from the other food which I liked bc I don't care for raw onions. The carnitas also came with 4 corn tortillas. We would definitely return here for pick up or dine in. The meats in the Quesabirria was tender and had great flavor. There was also cheese inside of them. We were recommended this restaurant by a friend who had good things to say. I unfortunately don't. First entering the restaurant there were two younger boys at the host booth asking how many and then their father who is the owner began yelling from across the restaurant where they needed to seat us. The chips and salsa were great. Everyone pretty much ordered some kind of margarita. The frozen margaritas tasted amazing but the non frozen margarita tasted like straight mix and water, zero alcohol, it was disgusting so we told the waitress she said they would remake it. After some time she brought another one back out and it really wasn't much better, I'm not sure if it's the mix they use or they just didn't care to make it better. We asked a good 4 times for waters and finally received almost after we were almost finished our food. My husband received his food way after the rest of the table had gotten and eaten their food. Then when we received our check we noticed they way over charged for an order of nachos. After complaining they fixed this but who knows if this isn't something they do to get more money out of people. Dinner 7pm approx I normally really enjoy this place and have been there prob bout 20 times or so. Never had an experience like this. I hate to say this but the 1st bite of rice I had was rank. I had the wife smell it and she noticed nothing wrong. A few minutes later I got a bad bite of tilapia. The wife and mother n law noticed a foul odor. It smelled like trash/garbage. I now know what it was. I was smelling trash from the kitchen while I was eating. She asked an employee to close the kitchen door as it was quite nasty. Someone opened it right back up. A mngr came by and we asked him to please not leave the door open as it is very unpleasant to eat w/the smell of a dumpster in my mouth. He insisted he smelled nothing. All 3 of us smelled it and it was nasty. I asked for some to go containers as we could not stomach the smell and eat at the same time. The mngr told the wife that a customer had tossed a dirty diaper in a trash can next to the kitchen door. I know the diff between that and dumpster smells. Why would you have a trash can right next to the kitchen door - that is just nasty. I am sorry to say this was a very bad experience - shame is the food looked real good but now I don't even want it. Maybe I'll have it for lunch Friday - my kitchen does not smell like a dumpster or shitty diapers ok? Neither should theirs. I'll give em one more try and hopefully I will not have anything like this happen again. If it does then I'll just order to go from now on. I do like a good marg w/ some delic food but please - clean the trash cans and the dumpster. There's no excuse for that. read more

I received an incorrect order. I ordered a shrimp taco dinner and when I opened my order at home I saw that I actually received some type of fish tacos with cheese and lettuce on the side instead of on the taco like I had asked. I received a tortilla with fish and tomato. The taco itself was horrible as the fish was filled with so much grease it leaked onto the tortilla. I called to see what they could do about getting my order wrong and serving me such a bad order and no resolution came about. They did not want to replace the order that they got wrong nor refund me. I highly discourage you from wasting your money on this establishment! They charged me extra for cheese and lettuce that wasn't even on the taco. I complained and then half the order came out I said cancel the other half , and then all of a sudden the other half appeared but I refused to accept. The young man then caught an attitude and said "what the hell man". I walked right behind him waiting for him to say something else so I could properly address him. He spoke to who guess was the manager in Spanish. Since I do not speak the language I don't know what was said. I was charged full price for my son's meal and drinks. I don't know that I've ever had a bad meal or experience at a Mexican restaurant before. One thing you can say is that menus, service, and food quality is pretty consistent across most Mexican style restaurants in Georgia...until I ate here. We ordered frozen margaritas...again, a consistent staple at all Mexican restaurants who have a liquor license...but these were awful! First they were some weird artificial green like a neon watermelon rind color rather than your standard lime color. Secondly it was garnished with a single maraschino Cherry...a cherry!?! No lime, no orange, but a cherry. Who puts a cherry in a margarita??? Last, it tasted like 409 or some chemical cleaner. I rarely have a bad margarita at a Mexican restaurant but this was the worst ever! Our server apparently would carry only one item at a time...brought out our cheese dip app, then went to get chips, then a third trip for salsa. Two minutes later, my entree of Texas Rice arrived and then two minutes after that my wife's entree of tacos arrived. Much too soon, not that I'm complaining about how fast my food arrived but we barely got into the app yet. My rice plate looked great with steak, chicken, shrimp, peppers and onions over rice but it was cold...barely room temperature. My wife's tacos were just okay but not really hot either. Obviously, every ingredient is sitting in a pan and scooped onto the plate but it didn't even get two minutes under the heating element to warm it up. My Texas rice was $16.50 which I thought was high since most places charge $13-14.50 for the same dish (but served hot), yet the portion was substantially smaller than other nearby places like El Parian, El Jinete, Gringos, etc. Learned my lesson, won't go back here...too many good Mexican restaurants around who earned my dollars. read more

The food is normally satisfactory but one time our server seemed confused and didn't accurately describe menu items which led me to ordering something I didn't enjoy b/c I was expecting something else. The prices are decent, typically $11-$13 entrees but you do get a good portion of food. Their chips and salsa is very delicious and I usually order the BBQ nachos. This heap of tender carnitas pork on chips is amazing. Fair warning, you will prob gain 5lbs instantly. My wife regularly gets the arroz con pollo (rice covered with chicken and queso cheese) and loves it. I think any thing covered in queso will be amazing anyways. Other than our 1 bad encounter, the service here and the family that owns this place are friendly and attentive. They do have a full bar but I haven't tried their drinks yet. read more

This place has an extensive menu, some being the standard choices and a few other choices that I haven't seen from a mexican restaurant. The Tamales El Chilango was my choice for dinner on this trip. The tamales didn't seem fried at all, in fact they weren't even warm which was surprising because they had one cook on staff and our food wasn't ready until after 25 minutes of our order. They would have been delicious if it wasn't for the temperature and the excessive cilantro. I would suggest you say no cilantro on your order unless you absolutely love it, to me it took away from all of the other flavors. The cheese dip was delicious and salsa equally good, made fresh.
