Recently moved to Oregon from CA and I have to say.. U go Hacienda !! By far the best Mexican food I've tried in the 2 years of living up here. Oregon for some reason has their own twist on Mexican food that I cant put my finger on but this place is on spot with my favorite joints in Cali .. Just visited this place tonight for the 1st time. I had a wonderful experience. The place is super cozy! Great atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food portions were hearty and had good flavor. Plenty of seating. Wheelchair accessible entry. Handicap parking and free parking lot. Felt like a mini getaway. Best rellano I've ever had! First time having a shrimp stuffed one. I was skeptical having red sauce on shrimp, but wow it was delicious! Attentive server who wasn't over the top, let me eat in peace but made sure I had everything I needed. Down here on business and I will be returning before I go home. Really good food. read more

Because tacos are the center of my universe. I only have a job so that I can buy tacos. I am only going to school so that I can get a better paying job and afford more tacos. These were no ordinary tacos, they were fucking huge, delicious tacos. I know that y'all know how I feel about tacos. If you don't, then you're not my friend. These tacos, they totally blew my skirt up...what a feeling. So you want to know more about the tacos, right? As I stated previously, they were huge. I stuffed that shrimp filled, burrito-sized taco in my mouth with wild abandon. My hubcap sized platter of tacos was served with the usual, rice and beans which were nothing special but ya, know, they must fill the plate with something. A dash of chipotle sauce livened things up considerably. The décor is really cool here too, I mean really, really cool: very kitschy, but also warm and comfy. Every booth had a horse head carved into it. The waitstaff were terrific too, checking in from time to time to make sure we were happy. Happy we were. I LOVE this place but the last 2 times we've tried to go there is a random drunk guy hanging out outside the restaurant/cantina trying to start fights with patrons and calling people names. I sure hope they take care of the random drunk that is driving their customers away. read more

In an effort to support local restaurants through the virus crisis, we have been doing takeout a few times a week. So far, La Hacienda Real in Keizer is our favorite! Friendly lady took the phone order and payment when I arrived for pick up. I ordered the beef tamale and chicken enchilada combo. Both were very good as was the rice and beans. It was nicely presented in a reheatable container. Others in my party ordered chimichangas and enjoyed them. We were given a bag of chips and 4 small containers of salsa plus tortillas. The salsa was tasty with a medium degree of spiciness. The chips and tortillas were good. We are already planning to return next week for another takeout order. read more

I think this is about as good as it gets for family style Mexican dining in the Salem Keizer area. I've been to the locations in Keizer and NE Lancaster. Had enchiladas de chili Colorado at both. The meat is tender and flavorful. I could use a little more spice but I understand I'm not going to get that at this type of place. read more

Last week I arrived back from Seaside hongry! (I bypassed hungry in Portland.) The bright sign of Hacienda Real caught my eye so I walked in and discovered they have very quick take out. The girl up front at reception was very busy but also very courteous and she took orders and handled both eat in diners and take out customers like a pro. I ordered the Grande Combo which comes with choice of three items. I got Chicken enchilada, beef tostada and beef tamale. (Tamale only comes with shredded beef.) I also ordered Chicken fajitas for a friend and they looked and smelled unbelievably delicious. It came with a side of rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole and a portion cup of great tasting salsa. I really loved all of my dinner and, now that I've had the chance to taste a few different items from their impressive menu, I will be back with my family for a feast! read more

I really like this place. The handmade flour tortillas are to die for and their complimentary salsa is very good, a perfect addition to the chips. Aside from an odd fascination with horses (every booth is adorned with the head of one), the decor looks like what I would imagine being inside a functioning Hacienda would be like. Not that I've ever done that, but it looks like what I would think would be authentic. Does that make sense? The food always comes out hot, with a generous portion. I usually stuck with old favourites (i.e. boring), but on a recent trip I tried their Burrito Colorado. The sauce and beef were amazing. Truly excellent. It completely changed my future order, as this will be my new go-to menu item. Definitely worth it....though do try and get them to not steer you into the side room, which looks like part of the strip mall that they expanded into. It's too bright, stale, and looks shoddy. The inner part is much more aesthetically pleasing. Also, try the sopapilla for desert. Totally worth it. read more

Very good food, although experiences a very long wait time for our food. Server was bland. Never brought extras that I asked for (needed more napkins, dining with child). We were given a gift card for this restaurant by an awesome couple and decided to try it out. They had mentioned to us that these folks had amazing margaritas and my wife had just asked about margaritas and chips being it was our anniversary, so we gave it a go. 1st off, they were SWAMPED! I mean a dozen couples and families or so outside waiting for tables. This is ALWAYS a good sign to me. We went to the attached "sports"bar next door and were seated and given the same menu (score for having paid our dues and already raised our kids so we can sit in a bar). The wait for food and drinks was not excessive, but the quality of the food was outstanding! Now it should be mentioned that while we aren't picky eaters, we do only eat plant based for health (her), and moral (me) reasons. They took the plant based challenge and kicked it's lily-livered arse. They had options already on the menu for us, and weren't afraid to modify other menu items as well (mark of a skilled/confident kitchen staff). Even though the wait staff and kitchen staff were severely over worked, we had a great evening and will return every time we want authentic Mexican cuisine. We'll be back!!! read more

Everything was great, the ambiance, the margaritas, staff. I was taken when we got our food. My son ordered the Chicken Mole and there was very little chicken, it was more like mole soup, disappointing. My dtr. ordered the carnitas plate and again very little meat lots of veggies yet a very small serving. Again, everything was delicious however they definitely held back on the chicken and meat. After traveling back and forth from Oregon to California I can safely say this is the best run, friendliest, most enjoyable Mexican restaurant I've come across in the two states. The waitresses are outstanding, the managers are caring and attentive and want to give you the best dining experience, the food quality is terrific and the pricing is ridiculously reasonable. Hey, all I can say is this is the best place in Oregon and Washington and I really miss not living nearby and being able to visit the River road location in Keizer week after week. read more

This used to be great. Our server seemed unhappy and was not friendly. The margaritas had pretty much no alcohol. She forgot my friend's tortillas and when we finally got them, they were flour even though corn had been requested. The food wasn't hot. The black beans were as salty as the ocean. They were annoyed we asked for the bill to be split separately. And I had sticker shock when I saw that I paid more than $30 for an entree, side of guac, and margarita with no alcohol. probably the worst dinner experience I've ever had. we went to celebrate my grandmothers birthday. arrived at 5:30 and ordered by 5:45. they sat 4 other tables after us. all those other tables for their food before we did. we were told after waiting over an hour that the waitress is new and forgot to put our order in. when our food finally arrived after being there for an hour and a half it was subpar at best. they "made it right" by giving my grandmother the birthday dessert that they always give for birthdays. did not financially comp us at all. incompetent and disrespectful staff. my grandparents are regulars there and were treated like this last week as well. terrible experience. do not waste your time and money here. read more

When I was in college, my roommates, girlfriend and I would drive to La Hacienda Real two or three times a week. Sometimes for a full meal, sometimes for an order of homemade tortillas and salsa. It's hard to describe how amazing those tortillas are. Buttery, perfect texture, warm and simply delicious. If you're able to go here, to any of their locations really, be sure you order something with the homemade tortillas, or get some on the side. I recommend the fajita trio (steak, shrimp and chicken) but truthfully I like most all of their food. read more

I have been going to this locatiob since it opened and for the longest time couldnt find anything negative but sadly the last 3 times we have gone we have had TERRIBLE service!! Been forgotten about, had our orders not taken correctly and/or not cooked correctly.. Then not fixed or compensated, none the less last night when my birthday girl wanted to go there for her bday dinner we loaded everyone up and went. It was GREAT food but Horrible service yet again. Been going here for a long time amazing service but the wait on some days can be a little while but nothing like somewhere like Olive Garden it's usually 3-10 mins, food is quick and it has good options. The food is amazing but the drinks can be a little lack luster. If you going for food 5 stars, but if you want drinks across the street casmingos has amazing drinks but I still prefer here. read more
