Me and da besties went for Brunch last Sunday for our Friendsgiving. Really didn't know what to expect except I was going to eat some seafood.and it was going to cost me money. We had an 1130 reservation and seated on time. The restaurant is located poolside, so enjoy the fresh Hawaii sea air, no AC. They do put those huge umbrellas to shield the guests from the super blaring sun, which is nice. On to the food, they do have the normal spread of eggs Benedict, frittata, omelet station, waffles, yogurt, pasta station, pastries, buddha bowl, and fruit, etc. They did have chicken dim sum which was okay and some kinda duck egg roll, which my friend and I agreed we didn't taste any duck. They have prime rib and lechon/roast pork station. The skin on the lechon was kinda tough so didn't eat dat but the pork was juicy and had fat on it. The prime rib was juicy and tender. They do have sashimi/sushi bar, but I did not partake any of that, my friend had her eyes rolling to the back for head, because the sashimi melted in her mouth. The crab legs, shrimp, and oysters are served on ice. One thing nice is that they have an attendant cracking the crab legs for you, yes!, less work more eating. I had a couple servings of the crab legs and the meat was sweet and tasty. My favorite part of the buffet are the LOBSTER TAILS. So succulent and sweet and then you dip in the clarified butter. I can hear angels singing. The tails are grilled, so there's a nice smoky element it as well. Along with the lobster, there was grilled chicken and steak. Didn't try the chicken, but the steak was tender. They had a nice assortment of desserts, if you still have room. Soda, coffee, and tea comes with the buffet. My friend ordered a coffee and the waiter asked if she wanted hot or iced, we were like we can have it iced?! So, we all ended up ordering iced coffee. There is also option of ordering mimosas or beer for an extra charge. Our waiter Justin was awesome and attentive. There was also live music during the brunch. Parking is valet so make sure you validate. All in all, this is pricey buffet $79, plus tax and tip but it is totally worth it to have a nice, relaxing, awesome meal with your besties. read more

Heard that La Hiki was having a special wagyu beef A5 rating fillet mignon option and had to go try it! The steak was amazing. Simply cut like butter and tasted so smooth and fresh. As a side we had their truffle french fries, and I love my french fries, and these were amazing. Super crispy with a great truffle sprinkle on top. Oh and did I mention that I steak also had fresh truffles shavings on top? Amazing! First time here. Wife & son were wanting to go to the Sunday buffet and kept asking me when and if I would be free... After our short wait, we were escorted to our table. The path led us thru the buffet area where we got a glimpse of some of some of the food. We were sitting for a few minutes wondering if we had to wait for our waiter or if we could just go and start getting our food. Luckily, we waited and were able to give our drink orders. It was good that our waiter asked if this was our first visit. With that, he explained the layout of the food stations. My wife didn't like that everything was spread out all over the place. I, on the other hand, liked it it that way. To me, it prevents bottlenecks - if you've been to 100 Sails at The Prince in Waikiki, you'll know what I mean. My wife got where I was coming from. My first priority was the steak, hulihuli chicken, and lobster station. I was hoping to see a setup like the prime rib, where they cut/slice the steak for you. Instead, the have pans out with the steak cut into rectangular bite size chunks. It's on a warmer, at least. You get the opportunity to move all the pieces around to find those to your liking. They looked a bit dried-out. Tastes was, okay, with a little smokiness (from the grilling) and very slightly salted. The hulihuli chicken was not the flavor I'm used to, you know, the kind you used to buy at school fund raisers. The lobsters were okay. Had to use my fork and knife to cut the meat off the shell. All of them were basically sitting in open pans on (what appeared to be) induction heating plates. I think it would have been better if the pans were covered, to retain the moisture. Next was the omelette station. No matter what buffet I go to, if they hav an omelette station, that's a must stop for me. I had everything put into my omelette. It was cooked perfectly for me. Loved it! What made it even better was that the guy making the omelettes was personable and pleasant to talk to. He seemed to enjoy his work. That's a plus. I got a few pieces of bacon, salmon & capers then returned to our table. Loved the bacon, as it was cooked just right to my liking and not crispy where it would fall apart if poked with a fork. Can't go wrong with the salmon & capers. Since I was a bit salted/oiled-out, had to have my fruits. I usually focus on the melons and pineapple, to aid in digestion. I was surprised at how sweet the (honeydew and cantaloupe) melons were. Usually there's no taste, but these were sweet! Went back for more and guess what, the second batch were like all the others I had in the past. I just got lucky on my first batch. My wife went on a hunt and brought back the prime rib, steak, chicken, lobster, fish (believe it was kampachi), pork belly, sashimi, bacon, etc. Unfortunately, she did eat much. She was a little hesitant to eat, just because... she noticed that the fish had the appearance of many people "picking" at it... other stations weren't maintained. Our son wanted to go to this buffet primarily for the charcuterie. Huge disappointment! My son loves his cheese, salami, prosciutto, etc. The prosciutto only had shards of meat on a board. It remained that way throughout most of our time there. My wife happened to pass by and found some prosciutto and brought it back to the table for my son. I'm not an expert on prosciutto, but something about it didn't look right. It seemed like it was sitting in oil. When my wife mentioned that it should be refrigerated, that raised a red flag for me. My son didn't really care for it because it was hard and when he chewed it, "jelly" came out. I think it was coagulated. I was a bit disappointed and felt sorry that my son could not enjoy it. Takeaways from this experience: 1. When escorting guests, escort should make sure they know where the guest is; take a look behind while taking the guest to their table. Interact with the guests. Perhaps, explain what the food stations are as you're walking thru. To prevent having to say it over-and-over with each guest, a simple, "Have you been here before" or "Is this your first time to our buffet?" This will dictate what to do. 2. The noise level in this place reminds me of Roy's. It was kind of loud. Yes, there was live entertainment, which made it different to hear my wife. The guests next to us were talking loudly, as well. But I guess it is what it is. 3. Proper cooling and/or heating of foods is a must. The sashimi my wife brought to the table didn't look like it was refrigerated properly. It just didn't look fresh. The prosciutto should have been refrigerated. Recommend the steak be kept under cover to keep the steak moist and juicy. 4. For the most part, my wife said it was hot, even though we were in "indoor" seating. If you want a "cooler" seat, you'll need to ask to be sat in the air conditioned section. For the price you pay, still prefer Hoku's, Halekulani, Kai Marketplace buffets. read more

Very disappointed. We were given a 1:30 reservation for the Sunday Brunch I was very reluctant about the time, but I was assured that the food would be refilled and there would not be a problem with that time since they would be open until 3:00. That being said I booked the reservation. To my dismay at 2:00 We noticed that the cold seafood station was unmanned and no items were replenished. Then we went to the grill and there were no lobster according to your staff running out of the lobster and crab is a common occurrence on Sunday. While we were eating no one removed our used plates, so it was very disconcerting since the shells from the raw seafood were attracting flies. Finally, we had no choice but to remove the plates ourselves by putting the used plate on an empty table nearby. Management should really fix this. Be sure to call in for Sunday brunch reservations - it gets PACKED. Breakfast buffet food choices ranged from waffle/omelette station to benedicts to even Chinese food. I know, I remember thinking HMM this is RANDOM seeing dumplings at a breakfast bar lol. We had breakfast here everyday while staying at the Four Seasons.. Food and ambiance was excellent. We sat right next to the pool at a very cozy table. We were offered shawls which I just loved because it was a bit chilly out. Pros: Stunning and relaxing setting overlooking the lagoon and Four Seasons' pool Cons: Mediocre and overpriced food, slow service We stayed at Aulani and casually strolled over for dinner to see how Four Seasons' food fared in comparison with Aulani's 'Ama'Ama. Unfortunately, besides being at around the same price point, and both with a mostly seafood focus, the food was disappointingly poor. The field green salad was one of the most bland and boring I've had in awhile, the shrimps in black vinegar aioli was greasy, tough and not particularly fresh, and the ribs were overly sauced and not tender enough. Both the shrimps and ribs were marked as their signature dishes, so I can't imagine what their other average dishes would taste like. I'm guessing this restaurant isn't really meant for dinner, it's high yelp rating likely comes from its brunch buffet where they serve completely different food. The service was so slow that we missed our scheduled evening activities back at Aulani (and the kids were of course quite disappointed). I almost cancelled my reservation at Noe (also at the Four Seasons) due to the surprisingly poor experience at La Hihi, but good thing I didn't because Noe was absolutely amazing. In conclusion, 4 stars for setting, 2 stars for service, 1 star for food and value. read more

Returned to La Hiki for the Sunday brunch and WOW. First off, we were a huge party of 20 and they sat us in our own private dining area on a large round table that was very close to the buffet. Not necessary but I thought I'd like to add that the middle piece of the large, wooden table spun around, like at Chinese restaurants! That thing was crazy and very well made! It was a very nice dining environment for our very large party. The brunch was $65 (no kama'aina offered) and the mimosa brunch was $75. You don't really need to add the mimosas, though, because the brunch came with a Bloody Mary bar!! Also included is prime rib and roast pork (like lechon style!), cold shrimp/oyster/crab claw, sashimi (cut to order) and poke, made to order loco moco, steak/shrimp/lamb/lobster tail station, and everything that's already included with breakfast!! However, it seems that they do break down the omelet station and turn it into a dessert station... which I'm completely fine with. :) The brunch runs from 11-2:30 and the lines are crazy long for those first 2 hours. I would recommend making your reservation about 1:30 if you're okay with eating that late. That was about when we were leaving and ALL the stations were empty. Which is what would have been my biggest gripe about the brunch... the hot meat station line led into the seafood bar which led into the sashimi line. So, if you were to stand in line only for sashimi, for example, it seemed that you'd have to wait in line starting at the prime rib station because it would have been rude to cut in right anywhere else in between. The flow of the buffet was also a little weird because depending on where you sat, you'd have to weave your way around other diners and god forbid you run into a chair and spill your sashimi shoyu and bloody mary on the poor soul sitting right there. I always thought that the breakfast there was a winner, but I think that I'd only go back for the brunch because, for the price difference, the brunch is WAAAY more worth it! read more

Best brunch ever. Seriously. Although they scaled back since the original opening offerings, its still the best brunch ever! They no longer offer grilled lamb chops or the giant shrimp/prawns either. Bloody Mary's are one per adult now. The seafood selection was fresh and delicious. Lobster tails cooked to perfection, steak done right from rare to well. Sashimi cut to order. Oysters small to large. 2 kinds of crab, stone claws and snow legs. Shrimp cocktail was cooked perfectly also. Crispy skin on the roast pork. And prime rib. Not just roared beef, this was quality meat that was tender and juicy with enough seasoning and salt. So many buffets concentrate on quantity, not this place. We visited here after finally being able to get in the day of calling to see if they have any openings. I highly advise to make a reservation at least a week before, especially if you have a party of more than 2. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive and always clearing our used plates and refilling our drinks if needed. The food is great... the selection was a lot smaller than I thought. The Selection of desserts are small, or at least I didn't get to see much of it. Because the lay out is kind of all over the place, it is hard to go around picking what you want without over loading your plate or having to go back up again. But seafood was fresh. The oysters were great, two different kinds to choose from. The lobster and crab legs were delicious. I do wish they had the option of heated crab legs (snow) instead of just offering it chilled. This place is worth the $75.00 per person IF you LOVE lobster that much. I'm not sure how much chilled crab a person can eat, but it was definitely the Lobster that sold me. I'm not much of a brunch person but I've been seeing so much buzz about the la Hiki Sunday brunch buffet that I had to check it out for myself. Overall, it was a 6.5/10 for me. Food: there's actually not too many options but everything was just ok, nothing spectacular; the porchetta was dry and bland, seafood quality was meh, ramen bar was alright. I definitely wouldn't touch the charcuterie section, it doesn't look appealing at all with cold cuts and cheese just sitting out at room temp all day. As for the service - it was also just okay, definitely not four seasons level of service that we were expecting. Our table was filled with empty plates and cups and it took quite awhile for a busser/server to come around and clear it. Another negative for me was that we were seated at the most outer edge of the restaurant where the sun was beaming and hot when there were tables available towards the inside of the restaurant that had more shading/AC. Anyway it wasn't an entirely bad experience because I did enjoy the AYCE crab legs & lobsters but for this price I would rather go to 100 sails. read more

For $75... I'd expect a little more. Granted it is priced as that for being "Four Seasons." There were lots of selections- Cold Seafood Bar (Oysters, Crab Claws that you get the option of being opened for you, and Crab legs, and Shrimp Cocktail). It was okay. Nothing crazy nor exciting. I've been to cheaper buffets with better crab legs. These hardly had meat in them. Lobster Bar (Grilled Lobster, Grilled Steak, BBQ chicken and various pickled things). My favorite was probably the lobster. Steak and bbq chicken were flavorless, which probably was why there were many different sauces to choose from. Prime Rib Station. Good. Omelette Bar. Didn't get to try. Various fruits and a wide selection of desserts and cookies. No ice cream but lots of puddings and panna cotta to select from. Breakfast/Brunch selection with some Asian choices like pork hash and dumplings. We went at 11:45. It was pretty hot so wear breathable clothing. Also making it clear, for $75, it ONLY includes ONE FREE BLOODY MARY PER PERSON. No bottomless drinks besides water and soft drinks. For $75, okay there's lots of choices. Realistically, you won't be eating everything because there's literally SO many choices. But, that being said, I don't think I'll go back to spend $75 when I'll actually be eating about two plate fills that would regularly equal out to more than half that price. Staff however, were very friendly and accommodating. I appreciate the staff, just don't agree with the price of the buffet. But I do know I have to keep in mind, that four seasons is a price in itself! So noted! Also, good luck trying to reserve a spot for more than 4+ people a week before. It's extremely difficult! Decided to give it another try with the same group of friends from last time. I appreciate La Hiki reaching out and offering a modest discount to try to make up for the less-than-stellar experience. Food was great and service was friendly as always. Was sad to find out that they did away with their bottomless mimosas :( I now know that the best time to go is 1030-1230. Any earlier and you won't have the same selection (I think it's limited to mainly breakfast buffet options until about 1000). Any later and you run the risk of them packing away certain items and shutting down the grill (and trust, the grilled lobster is one of the main reasons you'll be going). read more

We ordered the following: -Firecracker Shrimp Salad -Scallop Bacon Skewer -Short Rib Bao -Steamed COTD - Opah -"How Fun" Chow Funn -Molten Chocolate Banana Lumpia I normally don't say much about service because my bottom line is how the food tastes. PERIOD. But in this instance, I'll make an exception, although I won't rate it. Our server impressed me in the beginning when he asked us if we had any food allergies! I told him yes, mango! I was very pleased that LH asks that question!! Well apparently that was just a "check in the box of some list"!! I know because if he had looked at his memo pad where he wrote it down he wouldn't have come back at the end of our meal to tell me that their most popular dessert was mango!!?? Even the BF looked incredulously at him while he kept going on about mango and then asking me if I wanted to try it?? ***Insert Faceplant here!!!*** My point is, no matter what goes on in the kitchen, the customer doesn't care. They want to believe for that moment in time that you heard what they said!! Attention to details is important!! I don't know if mango purée is being used in their kitchen. I only find out when I get a rash... Anyhow... Firecracker Shrimp Salad - $16. (2.5 stars). The shrimp were actually a healthy size and fried nicely. But the dressing that was drenched on top of the salad and the awful "crispy noodle" which was so hard that it hurt my tooth was such a turn off to me. So yes, I let the BF eat the rest of the bowl and I could hear him struggling to chew on the crispy noodle as I shook my head at him. Stubborn boy!! Scallop Bacon Skewer - $4. (3 stars). Exactly as stated. Scallop. Bacon. Skewer. Decent for what it promised. I liked the skewer part the best (to look at not eat). Short Rib Bao - $8. (3 stars). The Bao was steamed nicely. The Kimchi was actually tasty and had a nice spicy kick to it. But the short rib was pretty tough to bite. Even though it was a small piece it seemed like the meat wasn't tenderized or broken down at all. I would consider ordering this again but maybe just the Bao and Kimchi!! :) Steamed COTD - Opah - $39. (3.5 stars). Opah was steamed nicely. Fresh. The dish came out and then I realized... it sits in a Miso broth... Curse my wicked awful reading skills!! The Cilantro, Scallions, Ginger, and Sesame Chili Oil complimented the dish but for some reason I was thinking this would be the true authentic Chinese style where they pour the hot peanut oil on... Sigh. The Bok Choy were tasty but I would have preferred if the chef had sliced the Bok Choy and fanned it out vice leaving huge stalks in the bowl. There is one thing I really did like... the thinly sliced oyster mushrooms that soaked up the broth! Yummy!! The BF devoured this dish and said he really liked it. I liked the flavor of the broth but again my expectations let me down. "How Fun" Chow Funn - $17. (4 stars). I think this is the only dish I really enjoyed! The beef was sliced thin enough that it was tender. The bean sprouts, carrots, and scallions all tasted crisp and fresh. The Chow Funn noodles were cooked al dente and wok fried together with all the ingredients. A simple yet tasty dish. If I come back this would be what I would order again. Molten Chocolate Banana Lumpia - $14. (2 stars). I can't say I was in awe of this dessert. In fact I only enjoyed the CINNAMON ICE CREAM that was served with this dish! I didn't really care for all the sugar that the lumpia was rolled in. The lumpia was crispy but too sweet for me. The chocolate was tasty but frying the banana left a bitter taste in my mouth. It could just be me but after this dessert I don't think I'll eat anything but fresh bananas thank you. --- All in all, the ambiance is nice. But I keep feeling like Lā Hiki isn't anywhere near what their prices suggest... Lā Hiki does give 10% Kama'aina (Hawaii Resident) discount but only for dinner and you have to ask. I don't see it advertised anywhere in the restaurant?? Lā Hiki has potential and maybe I'll be back one day but I'll need to recover from this T.K.O. first!! read more

Missing the Ihilani aside...this place was pretty good. Ambiance, casual but not too casual. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops, the watermelon salad and salmon sashimi. Phenomenal but really conservative portions. The lamb... amazing. But again, portion size could have been a little more generous for the price. The pandan doughnuts... delicious. Light. Not too sweet. Perfect. I also had the Thai milk tea (alcoholic version) with my meal and it was a bit strong for my liking. But I'm sure someone would appreciate the kick. I gave this establishment 4 stars due to the fact that it was Valentines Day and not crowded at all but the service dragged. Our server was incredibly sweet and really down to earth but it was like watching paint dry to get anything on or off the table, including the check. Definitely coming back at some point. Almost a 5. Got to say the grilled lobster tails was super tasty and the griller was very accommodating as well as the omelette chef. They both were helpful, engaging and funny. I asked the omelette chef if it's okay to bring the lobster and make a lobster omelette and it was, yes of course!! We can make anything you want. Man what service huh! And the carver at the meat station was also funny and helpful. As most of our family asked for the crispy skin off the roast pig and didn't mind halving the roast slices with a smile. Our servers were very friendly as well as the buser. They checked on us pretty frequently and considering they had the entire dining room of the over flow to themselves, great job. The only concern as its a safety thing is as they pour the water, it splashes unto the ground. Being in a restaurant and the floors could get slippery, anyone could slip and fall. I thought they would wipe it up but didn't. So, I thought better be safe and just do it. Right after I wiped it, a mom carrying her baby walked by...whew. Great brunch and staff! Another great breakfast at La Hiki kitchen! Maria our waitress made our breakfast even better with her Aloha spirit. Surprisingly she remembered us from our last visit there. Again the food was on point. My favorite choices from this trip to La Hiki were the shrimp Hau Gau, Asian style steamed fish, pork sausage, lup cheong as a meat choice at omelette station. You never see Chinese sausage as a choice at any buffet. So awesomely Ono along with spinach, mushroom, onion, mozzarella. Mmmmmm! Fruits fresh and sweet. Eggs benny was on point & the zucchini benny was Ono also. Nice mix. Fried rice was delicious also. A slight smokey flavor made fried rice perfect. All in all a great breakfast at La Hiki once again and we will be back on our next trip. read more

It was good but not worth the price. I don't eat seafood, but my mother who loves seafood was of the same opinion. The quality of the ingredients is high; however, I don't feel like there's all that much work going into the dishes. The steaks were delicious, but the lamb chops, the were seasoned well - but they were just steaks. The pork and prime rib were well cooked, but bland - not enough salt. Not that many prepared dishes - I enjoyed the eggs benedict, but it was nothing interesting or special. I can't say that I remember much else of the food I ate. The desserts were unexciting as well. The service from our waitress was wonderful, but some of the other staff were not. The grill chef was a little irritating. When the person in front of me asked "is there any medium rare?" the chef smirked and just lifted up all the steaks, looking at the customer like "duh." This is the second time I have come to this weekend brunch. It didn't disappoint me and I'm still happy I chose this place for a Sunday brunch. First off the food there is exceptional. They have many choices to choose from. From breakfast items, to sashimi bar, fresh made pasta, and all you can eat lobster tails among those things they are famous for. The parking there is valet. Valet is free with a validation from the restaurant of course. I went at a time the hotel was busy with people checking in and out. So i has to wait a while for them to take my car in. Second, there staff there at the restaurant were very nice and proper when talking to you and answering the questions you have for them. You don't feel rushed and they are glad to give you their time to see that your needs would be met. The brunch was amazing itself.. walking through the area, there are many items to choose from. Many of their foods they serve and prepare, you can see they take time to prepare it and the flavors are amazing. Came here for a wedding reception buffet. The staff were super nice, friendly, and attentive. Food was great. Lobster tails was what I wanted to stock up on. You don't go to a buffet to eat salad -_- GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH! If you read my original review, you'll see that we had a very disappointing time on Mother's Day. We gave La Hiki a second chance this morning for our anniversary brunch, and had a much better experience. Gabby, the Hostess at the podium greeted us very kindly and pointed out the coffee and croissants and encouraged us to help ourselves while they readied our table. She also wished us a happy anniversary, which was a nice touch. Cecile (? I believe that was her name. She had a great French accent) led us to our table and was very accommodating, checking on us a few times during the meal. Our waitress, Ashton, was also great. She waited to fill my coffee until I was seated with a plate in front of me instead of immediately filling the cup when I requested it so that it would be hot when I was ready to drink it. Aston also spent a little time talking story with us, but not to the detriment of her other tables. I didn't see furikake on the buffet anywhere, so I asked for some (I like it on eggs) and a small bowl was brought to our table almost immediately. The food was all very fresh and appealing, but again, we were disappointed that there was only fried rice on the buffet, no white rice. I guess their target audience isn't really local people. Have to chalk it up to that. I was very disappointed that there was no fresh mango on the buffet (there was a mango pastry, but it's not the same). We are deep into local mango season, you'd think they'd take advantage of that! But there was a large bowl of lychee, and I pretty much gorged myself on them. Since I am not their most frequent type of customer, I would recommend putting a sign on the bowl of lychee so visitors know what they are. I didn't see anyone else indulging. All-in-all, we had a vastly different meal here than last time. I can't, in good conscience give them 5 stars since our last visit was so disappointing, but who knows, we might be back! read more

It's the best brunch buffet you will ever have. It has roasted lobster, NY steak, roasted pork, prime rib, poke, shrimp, raw oysters, stone crab, snow crab, steamed whole fish, Korean bbq ribs, omelet station, and exotic fruits like dragon fruit, and Logans. OMG! It's good. There is live music. It will costs $75 per adult, $25 for kids 5-12 and $15 for kids 4 and under. It's only on Saturday and Sundays. We went in October 2019 to celebrate my kids' birthdays. The prices will go up for the holiday season (ie Starting in November at $115 for adults). No, I do not work for the Four Season. Lot of flavor! -Confit Duck, chicken skin, scallion and hoisin: The chicken skin was a nice addition! *Alaskan King Crab Legs, crab egg sauce, pork cracklings ($42) This one was good and i LOVED the sauce but the portion is super small!!! And for the price, i didnt see the value. I would have expected more. *Steamed Hapu'upu'u, ginger, green onions, cilantro, soy sizzling sesame oil ($39): it was good too and portion was bigger then the king crabs but still for $39? I think you can find the same/if not better chinese style fish in other restaurants. *Chawan mushi-cherry yuzu agar, crème brûlée, shiso granite ($14) For some reason everytime i think on chawan mushi i think on a cup and something soft inside of it. Entertainer was great, but the partially enclosed room we were in was so noisy (like a school cafeteria), it was hard to hear him and impossible to see him. Desserts improved since last month's visit, (I only tried 3 this time.) and the raspberry chocolate square was very good. The chocolate ice cream was the best--creamy and the little chocolate malted milk puff ball toppings were fun and tasty. The fruit tart was ok but nothing special. The butter mochi was good. The mini char siu bao dumplings were great. I enjoyed the orange chicken and the tartness of the eggplant in the spicy pork dish (couldn't find the pork). The busboy was great--he whisked away all our used dishes. The server was very cheery and tried hard, but she couldn't keep up with serving so many tables (not her fault, but we still had to wait for service and to pay and kept trying to wave her down to get her attention, but she was busy, busy, busy!). The cook behind the omelet station and the lobster server were very pleasant and helpful. The valet service was not great--the woman at the valet desk was helpful and wonderful, but the guy valet didn't help an 85 year old man who was leaning heavily on his walker, so the 85 year old women and the 76 year old man had to fold up his walker and put it in the trunk. Nor did the valet open the car doors for the 4 senior citizens! The quinoa with coconut milk (?) in the whiskey glass was awful and I'm not sure if that's what made me so sick that night that I vomited a couple of times and had diarrhea ... or it could have been I'm not used to the food I ate. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch for my birthday! This brunch offers a great spread. From fresh crab legs, oysters, sashimi, sushi, to grilled lobster, steak, duck, chicken. They also have nut free desserts and gluten free options. They offer you a complimentary Bloody Mary with the brunch. It was my first time trying one and it had way too much pepper and spice for me. I let the staff know when I booked my reservation that it was my birthday. They offer you a free birthday dessert for your birthday. A girl next to me had one served but I did not receive one. My server told me that you have to request it at the time of your reservation (I did just that) but that she will get me one. She didn't even say happy birthday and she was MIA for most of our dining experience. We had to keep asking for refills on our iced teas. Our server is the only reason for the 4 stars. This was our pick for Father's Day brunch. It was our first time trying this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We were seated at our reservation time and Russell, our server, took us on a tour of the buffet areas. The outside grill area had lobster, steak, and huli huli chicken. Inside there was an area for sashimi and poke, crab, crab claws, shrimp, and oysters on the half shell. A carving station with prime rib, lechon, and roast loin, many other hot dishes, omelette station, pasta bar, breakfast meats, fruits, salads, and desserts. Brunch also includes soft drinks or coffee/tea and 1 bloody mary per adult. All this for $75 per person! Not bad for all that you get. My only complaint is that we were seated far, far, far away from where the food was setup. Our table was located on the lanai of Mina Fish House (great view of Ko'olina's lagoon 1) adjacent to the pool. Russell was great and we had a wonderful brunch! read more

Tl;dr - a fine example of, "You get what you paid for." Just had brunch here for the second time this past weekend, during a weekend of extreme winds. For future review-readers, winds were extreme enough that the hotel closed down the stairs you'd normally take to go down to La Hiki, as well as La Hiki actually closing all the 'outdoor' seating, as well as the entrance. Winds were strong enough to nearly knock me down as I was walking from the elevator to the front. With that scene painted, our reservation was set for 11:30 and the restaurant did their utmost best (eventually) to accommodate all that still held their reservations. I have to preface the outstanding experience with due to the weather, the last-minute salvage operations did slow down service, initially leaving our party in the dark as to how we would eat. After voicing my concern, we were informed that we would be served, rather than a typical 'serve-yourself' buffet. At first I was a bit disappointed as they brought out a finite amount of food for our party, thus there was just enough lobster tails for one-a-person, versus normally being able to get a few if it were the normal buffet. But all of this was quickly remedied by the consistent bringing of food by the team and I have to quickly plug that the outstanding service by Russell and Malia really changed the atmosphere to be much more enjoyable. Nearly 2 hours into our meal, needless to say, the staff was more than ready to bring more food out at our request. Alas, we had to tap out and let our bodies begin to digest the amount of food we ate. Lobster tails, crab legs, steak, prime rib, sashimi, huli huli chicken, dim sum, egg rolls, ahi poke (normal and spicy), mussels, and a whole lot more - all truly great quality and all we could eat. I believe the price per head for brunch was roughly $75 a person, and probably one of the most expensive buffets you could treat yourself to on the island. Do yourself a favor, if your means afford you a once-a-year celebration, give La Hiki a chance. Great food, great lounging atmosphere, and a GREAT staff! Sunday brunch. Totally off the hook, so many offereing that a small bite of every item will leave you too overwhelmed to get up from the table. Bottomless Bloody Mary bar very nice touch but there is a $10 a glass charge on mimosas. Highlights were the grilling station that included grilled Maine lobster tails and wonderful marinated flank steak. Don't miss the sauces and wonderful picked onions at this station. BEST DINNER EVER!!! This was the best meal and service we have ever experienced! Very relaxed atmosphere, but had an upscale tick. On February 22nd, we stopped in after a convention center event. Jean shorts, T-shirts', and flip flops! Most people were in dressy casual, but our appearance didn't deter staff from hostesses to the managers from providing exceptional service! We were seated to the capable hands of Justin, our server. Although he had multiple tables, his service never seemed rushed or his patience tested. He was patient with our questions, offered multiple samples of wine and gave amazing suggestions for dinner. We were directed by a valet employee toward the House Bacon appetizer. It was made at our table and had a nice taste. We were expecting BACON flavor, but it was more like moist pork chops with delicious tomatoes and onions. Justin suggested the cauliflower steak. We should have gone his direction. The 8 oz filet and the 22 oz Cowboy Ribeye were out of this world. Not kidding. The cap on the ribeye melted in my mouth and the size of the steak allowed for leftovers that created a delicious steak salad the following day. The filet was cooked to perfection and could be cut with a fork. Our sides were the broccolini and hot spinach. I would eat the spinach every day if I could. So much flavor it will melt you out of your chair! On to dessert, with a candle! To our surprise, the carrot cake and chocolate pudding cake with ice cream were served on a beautiful tray for the birthday celebration (see the photo). The carrot cake was unique. Fabulous hints of spice cake, smooth, and in a three layer torte. The chocolate was NOT bitter but not overly sweet. Both were AMAZINGLY delicious and beautiful--right down to the cream cheese butter cream frosting! Next day left overs of the entire meal were exceptional as well. Our hats are tipped to the two managers on duty who frequently stopped at all tables to help the servers and make customers feel special. I really enjoyed everything about La Hiki kitchen. After experiencing this brunch I keep thinking about going back. The layout for seating is very spacious and adds privacy to any party or just for two. The food is very good for seafood and other brunch items including omelette station, Mexican fare, deserts and bloody Mary's. My Uncle and his family were visiting Oahu from the Big Island, and after extensive research (he loves to travel and eat) picked La Hiki Kitchen in the Four Seasons Hotel in Ko'olina. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with outdoor seating and a great view. It was my grandma's birthday, and luckily we got a table facing the ocean! Unfortunately.. at least for me, the food wasn't spectacular. I was looking forward to the seafood so I started there. The oysters were really fishy didn't taste very fresh.. The sashimi bar's fish was not of very good quality. My boyfriend said the lobster was just okay. I did think the snow crab legs and rock crab were the better of their seafood items, and those were good but not great. They did have the best fresh fruits of any buffet I've been to, and after giving up on their seafood sections, I found I liked their fruits, omelettes, bread and cheese with charcuterie, and desserts (the malasadas were yummy) a lot more than the seafood. I did try the eggs Benedict and unfortunately it was bland and dry :[ so was the lamb.. and I love lamb. But hey, my grandma enjoyed herself on her birthday, service was top notch and attentive, there was a spectacular view and valet parking makes arriving here stress free.
