Unfortunately, La Industria has really gone down hill. Their salsa is still delicious but the portions are skimpy and the meno has changed. Do not get the fajitas .... the only thing that comes with them is a small dollop of guacamole and a runny white sauce ... no lettuce, no cheese, no beans or rice. If you order the "normal" sides for rye fajitas you'll pay an additional $7.00 plus they now charge an extra $4.00 for chips and salsa. There was 5 tiny slices of chicken breast on a very skimpy plate of green and red peppers. This used to be a restaurant we frequented but tonight is our last time here. read more

This was our first bad experience with this restaurant but the service was so poor, we had to leave a review. The flour tortillas were inedible. The wait staff was busy taking selfies in front of the kitchen. Our drinks were not refilled and no one bothered to check with us. There was one girl working very hard clearing/cleaning tables, but that was it. The wait staff were doing everything but working. This will no longer be on our list of go-to restaurants. To be honest I had very high hopes for this place. We tried a little bit of everything. Chicken Fajitas Birria Tacos The pollo asado plate Chicken Nachos None of the food tasted authentic. Even the tortillas tasted super dry with nooo flavor. We wont be back ever again. The vibe was great, the servers were super nice but the food was not it. We went at a very busy time 6 pm - 630 pm and our party of 5 was seated very quickly. We were there till about closing 930 pm. The big bathroom had issues twice throughout the night. I was absolutely shocked at the unprofessionalism of this place. I honestly don't know what to say. First, no one greeted our party at the door to seat us (well before closing). Our visit was immediately after a work function, and our group started gathering here. Folks were trickling in, as can be expected, so we congregated around the bar. A staff member eventually instructed us to find our own table, and since we weren't quite sure yet how many were in our party, 4 folks sat at a four top while a few others waited for the rest of our friends. We were never offered menus or drinks to start. Instead, we were told that we must sit, and that they "can't have anyone standing at the bar." I went to the restroom while my partner complied and sat. When he was still ignored by staff, he stood up to grab a menu off the side of the host station so he could... (shocker) give this place money for food and drinks. He was admonished by the staff member who snapped "What are you doing?!" When he explained he hadn't been shown a menu, this staff member pressed him again aggressively about how many people for a table (this place has a giant wraparound bar, so this was very confusing- who doesn't allow standing to order a drink at the bar)? He explained we were still trickling in and he didn't quite have an answer for this yet. He was ordered to sit, so he did, trying to laugh off the aggression. The bathroom hallway stunk like piss and urinal cakes. This was less offensive in the ladies room, but it was still coming up from the drain. It was so gross I decided not to even pee and walked back out to my partner, standing next to him in a barstool (and having missed all the conversation about no standing). We ordered drinks from the bartender who got strangely short with us. When he said "Look, I just can't have people standing at the bar," we immediately found two seats at the bar and complied. He went off to make our drinks. The interaction was so strange and aggressive. The bar top was also dirty smelling. My partner privately (but perhaps too loud) remarked about how strange the interactions had been and how he was getting a lot of attitude from the staff. Before we knew it, the bartender and manager were standing before us with their arms crossed, asking us to leave. We were shocked and asked why, and they told my partner that he "was clearly intoxicated and they had the right to refuse service." At this point even I gasped with disbelief. My partner was not intoxicated in the slightest, and as he is in a leadership position and was at a WORK FUNCTION just prior, this was an absolutely ridiculous accusation. He said he had two drinks over the course of many hours previously, and was absolutely not even buzzed. THEN, THE BARTENDER AND MANAGER SAID THEY HAD JUST CONFIRMED WITH THE BARTENDERS AT OUR FUNCTION (who had already left, mind you) THAT HE WAS OVERSERVED. This was entirely fabricated. It was like they were picking a fight because they just didn't like him. Offended and rightfully defensive, my partner once again asked what he did to upset them so much and that he had never experienced anything like this. They told him again that he was "violently intoxicated" and they were kicking him out. When he said he would need to warn others not to come here, the bartender turned to the manager and scoffed "Oh, he's gonna tell everyone to never come here, haha. Scary." These guys were legit ready to fight a patron- it was WILD! We left- gladly at this point. So- if your idea of a good time is toxic masculinity, poor service, a potential fist fight from staff, and a dick measuring contest, I would encourage you to stop by. I hardly ever feel compelled to do yelp reviews but this was honestly the rudest restaurant staff and management I've ever encountered. I'm very glad I didn't order any food here because I can see from the other reviews that their food is as bad as how they treat their customers. Last night we tried this restaurant and it was great. I was raised in Texas so we are always on the hunt for Tex Mex which does not exist here. After 5 years of searching, this is the closest we have found to true Tex Mex. I got the chicken enchiladas and I was pretty full after eating one of them, there were 3 on the plate. Our absolute favorite restaurant within an hour of where we live - and we live 45+ minutes away and go to La Industria almost every week so you know we love them. Super vegetarian-friendly, just be sure to specify the cilantro rice. Their mushroom filling is fantastic, just addictively good. The smoked cauliflower is a close second, also delicious. Hubby says their chicken and seafood options are just as wonderful. He loves their soups, and usually gets a cup of soup with one or two tacos. Their chips and salsa is amazing, huge thick homemade chips with a truly yummy salsa, pretty sure it's chipotle as it's a little smoky. The brussels sprouts appetizer is another winner, so good that if it was the only veggie option I'd still want to go here. Everything we've had has been fresh, delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. Their drinks are also great, especially the pineapple margarita. Bathrooms are clean, service is always friendly and efficient, there's not a bad thing to say about La Industria. Had a really nice dinner here tonight. I ordered the rockfish, which is a new on the menu item. Having been here several times before, this is finally the winner! The ambiance is always great here. It's lively without being loud. It feels modern and clean, and the service was wonderful tonight. (It wasn't super busy when we arrived around 7:30pm.) Industry Restaurant has been reborn with a few decor tweaks and a whole new menu with a Tex-Mex theme. I had three tacos: beef brisket, chicken, and sautéed mushrooms. I have never heard of -- much less eaten -- a mushroom taco, but l love mushrooms. I was excited to try the mushroom taco. It was difficult to even tell the difference between these three very different tacos. The heavy-handed seasoning and toppings and sauce overwhelmed the other flavors. All three tasted the same. The mushroom taco was such a shame. That should be a signature dish for this restaurant. It could be so good. My own culinary goal now is to steal the idea and make it delicious. Mine will be lightly seasoned to compliment -- not cover -- the mushroom flavors and given a gentle sauce perhaps itself made with a mushroom base. The smoked beef taco should also have been delicious with smoky flavor. But again the delicate flavors of the protein were absolutely smothered in stereotypical "Tex-Mex" spices and sauces. Similarly, the chicken taco tasted of nothing but seasoning and sauces. If you go to La Industria, skip the tacos. They all taste the same and don't allow their key ingredient to shine as it should. So, food aside, let's talk about the rather radical change here. In my opinion, change is generally good for restaurants. It keeps things fresh and interesting. I can show you restaurants in the area serving the same menu today which they served 20 years ago. Of course, twenty years is a long life for a restaurant and one can argue against messing with success. In a case such as that, I don't advocate changing the whole menu, much less radically changing the whole style. But, every year, take a few of the least-popular dishes -- and these days every restaurant has computerized point-of-sales systems which can identify these dishes in an instant -- and replace them with something new. But what about a radical change, to even change the style completely? Maybe industry needed that. But if you are going to do that, why Mexican??? Why? And if you are going to do Mexican, why tacos and burritos??? The market for this is just saturated in the area with wonderful little taquerias all over the place... usually with incredibly low prices. If you like the La Industria name, why not Brazilian food or Spanish or Mediterranean or Portuguese? The area could use a really good choice in all of these styles. If you insist on Mexican, why not move beyond the trite tacos and burritos and explore a bit deeper into the wonderful world of Mexican cuisine? Hire a great Mexican chef and ask him/her to bring you authentic Mexican food as you'd find it in Mexico. So, while I do think far to few restaurants embrace change, and while I salute Industry for making a courageous move, I just don't think it was the best way to "shake up" this restaurant and I don't think it's been done well. A change like this is a big risk and a big investment so a restaurant should strive to get the best return on it. That's not done by embracing a race-to-the-bottom style already saturated in the market. read more

Best restaurant in the Sherwood/Tualatin area! While it isn't "traditional" Mexican food it is my favorite place to quell the craving! Every drink I've had (ESPECIALLY the sangrias) are incredible and unique. We always sit at the bar and service is awesome! Also love the new brunch though it seems as though the breakfast staff is a little underhanded with the salt! Last time we were there we happened to get a newer server and our food didn't come out after over an hour. The manager was INCREDIBLE at getting us what we needed and taking care of the issue once he was notified. All in all I am SO happy to have this gem in the neighborhood. We came to celebrate a graduation. The building is nice and the service is nice but I probably won't be coming back. We ordered chips and salsa. The salsa is a bit smoky tasting. The margarita was super small. The meat was smoky and nice but the burritos don't have enough cheese inside to make it cohesive. The rice and beans inside were just meh. My daughter liked her quesadilla but it wasn't anything very special. The overall take is their meat is good but the rest is pretty meh.
