The service is amazing, and it's great to see the same friendly faces from the taqueria across the street, the staff works at both locations, which makes the experience feel even more welcoming and familiar. The menu is a bit smaller, but don't let that fool you. Everything is clearly focused on quality and flavor. The prices are slightly higher, but you're definitely paying for excellent ingredients and great taste. From the rich mole to the flavorful tacos and the fresh chips and salsa, every bite was delicious. The decor and lighting also create a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Had the Enchiladas Suiza platter with Al Pastor and Chicken. Also tried the Pork Tamales, Beef Crispy Taco. The best meat was the al pastor with the ground beef 2nd best. The Al Pastor meat in the enchilada Suiza was very tasty with noticeable pineapple taste with other spices. The green Chile sauce had the tart tomatillo flavor. It just doesn't have the suiza part which is the creamy cheesy part. It only has drizzles of cream. The chicken enchilada was seasoned but just ok. The Ground Beef was also tasty and goes well with the slightly sweet crispy taco shell and the savory cheese and guacamole. The pork tamale came in a generous portion. I expected the pork to be more tender but it was a bit stringy. The tamale masa was good, not dry. The red sauce tasted like a mild tomato salsa. Both platters came with red rice and refried beans which were both good. The serve free chips and salsa. Overall, they serve generous portions and combos for the price. The first time I tried La Jaiba Mexigrill, it was for their Caldo de Res, because I wasn't feeling so good. My socks were blown off, because the beef was so tender! Also, the broth was on point. The broth is what will make you feel better, and this is the soup you want when you're starting to come down with something. Well, I came in later to dine in, with two other people. We throughly enjoyed the food we ordered. It's a large clean restaurant, with friendly and courteous staff. The food is more central Mexico, and very true to cuisine prepared from that region. It's a shame, if I had come maybe two days earlier, I expect the meal would have been amazing. The tamale filling was packed with herbs and spices, I've never tasted one with a better flavor. But was it reheated too many times, or left under a heat lamp for too long? I honestly don't know, I've never encountered such a dry tamale before. It was served room temperature, and hard to choke down even with water. The carnitas looked appetizing, it was served in big chunks that looked like they would have a good mix of crispy and tender. But as soon as I put it into my mouth, I wished my first bite had been smaller. The carnitas had a rancid, ammonia-like taste, and was nearly as dry as the tamale. I tried a couple more pieces, but wished I hadn't. If the food was just bad, it would be easier to understand. What's confusing is that the food was clearly prepared with care initially. Perhaps the traffic is less than expected and the management is hesitant to throw out food that is past its prime? I don't know, but some part of their process went horribly wrong. Aside from that, the portions were enormous, while the salsa and beans were made fresh from great quality ingredients. read more

Had lunch here for the first time with some of my Yelp Elite friends. La Jaiba is located on the corner of Winchester and Hamilton Ave in Campbell. They share a parking lot with other businesses in that area. The place is huge inside with lovely decor and gold chairs. They also have a few screen TV's for watching football/soccer. I got there a little earlier than my friends. I asked for a large table for us. Our waitress brought out four waters and gave menus for us to look at. She also brought us some chips and salsa. That salsa was very spicy. I could only have a little taste. After everyone arrived, we decided to order. I ended up getting the street tacos with steak. You can make it a meal by adding beans and rice. So I did just that. Everyone else ordered something different. For some reason, it took a long time to get our food, like over 35 minutes. The menu had a nice variety of options. Finally, our food came out. My tacos were not good. The meat was overcooked and dry, and the corn tortillas were overly dry too. The refried beans were the star of my dish. I asked for extra beans instead of rice, and they had no problem with that. The refried beans were really good. There was also a tiny salad on my plate, and that was really good too. Everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. The staff were very friendly. After we all finished eating, we just sat and talked with each other for about 3 hours. Our waitress even came out and refilled our waters before we left. All that talking left us parched LOL. Spacious restaurant with inside and outside seating options. House music playing throughout the inside. There is a full bar with beer on tap, tequila, etc. About four LCD TVs with professional football (soccer) playing on each. Two separate single-user men and women's restrooms. The service was friendly, patient, and attentive. I went with the Two item Lunch Plate - Enchiladas: 1 cheese & 1 shredded beef. Both were good. The shredded beef was tender and juicy. The cheese one was just as good. I mean the red sauce was good as was everything on the plate. Though, I wish the Enchiladas had more filling in them. Agua Fresca Cucumber & Lime. This was very delicious and refreshing. They really make it well here. My friends ordered the... Chimichanga with Al Pastor - had a good fry on it and the meat was really tasty. 1.28.26 We came to La Jaiba tonight with a large group of 22 people to wish our dear friend farewell. As always, everything was on point. The food is so fresh, the drinks are so balanced, and the staff is just lovely. Again, their housemade tequila is amazing. It is so smooth, with no burn, no aftertaste, and a fresh citrus type taste. All who tried it absolutely loved it. HIGHLY recommended and honestly, it is so good it can be a straight shot. It would almost be criminal to mix it with anything! Their mixed drinks are perfectly balanced and not harsh at all. The food never disappoints! Soooo fresh, so flavorful, huge portions, and clean tasting. You don't get any hint of dirty oil or 'old' ingredients. We have not been disappointed with anything yet! The menu is so huge it's really hard to decide what to order. The carnitas are top notch! The grilled shrimp are so delicious and perfectly cooked! The fish tacos are fire! The homemade tortillas are phenomenal. You really can't go wrong. Wifey and I, along with a couple of other Yelp elite's had our own "Yelp event" here today. We spent 4 hours keeping each other company. The interior is quite big with about 4 TV's hung up around the restaurant, some nice mural paintings on the wall, and the seating and tables are quite nice as well. They have a full bar too. The menu is quite extensive, I went with the chimichanga El, Pastor Burrito and wifey got the salmon tacos. Wifey liked the salmon tacos and said that they gave her a lot of salmon with the tacos. The chimichanga. Was very good and the El Pastor flavors was on point, however I did get a little bit of feed back from my stomach about 5 hours later from the fried burrito shell "the oil that they used to fry it was not good" the servers were friendly and did a good job. Ate here last night with my girlfriend, and it was really really good. This is their new, bigger restaurant with the big huge dining room. This one is near FedEx, Kinko's and Walgreens at the corner of Hamilton in Winchester. They have another small Taqueria down on Hamilton We had shrimp tacos, had a shrimp salad. My friend had the fajitas mixed stuff which included some crab legs. I had one of their Modelo especial on tap and tried their horchata. We agreed that everything was delicious and fresh. The menu is kind of long and intense. It's a pretty wild selection of things that you can order from them. I know that they know what they're doing since they have several other restaurants but man this menu is crazy long and intense. The service is really friendly. They have a smallish bar there about six chairs. And tons and tons of dining room tables. Lots of light lots of windows lots of plants. Along time ago, it was sushi boat restaurant. My wife and I came to visit the soft opening of La Jaiba Mexican Grill Restaurant at 10 E Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008 The restaurant is brand new so everything is very clean. The tables and chairs are amazing looking (see pictures) and the place was very spacious with 3 TVs and a sitting bar area. The decor was incredible with paintings right on the walls. The menu was huge with anything you could ask for. There is even a breakfast menu (from 9 AM-2 PM) that includes pancakes, omelets, benedicts, and a host of other items. Jennifer, our server, greeted us and explained the menu. She was polite, friendly, and professional. I noticed they were serving Sushi on the menu. I figured, why not have Sushi in a Mexican restaurant? So I ordered a california roll and a hibiscus drink. We also had a mineragua, beef huarache, and a pork red pozole. Everything was fresh made, properly seasoned, and absolutely delicious! The pork was so tender and flavorful. The drinks were cold and refreshing. I am a huge fan of the first La Jaiba location and always felt welcomed and appreciated. I experienced this at their new location. I've been meaning to try this place. Pros: it's pretty big inside. As another yelper mentioned, they have fairly decent comfortable seating, which is great. You don't feel like you're crammed into a small space. The chips and salsa were good. The chips were a little bit bland. However, the salsa was amazing. I also like how they bring it to your table with no extra charge. The interior was clean and fairly modern looking. The cons, I asked the waitress for the super burrito (from the lunch section). I asked her if I could have vegetables in it instead of meat. She assured me yes, no problem. However, the burrito didn't have any vegetables in it, other than just a little bit of lettuce and tomato, which was scant. I feel like they shouldn't have charged me for a super burrito price since they couldn't even swap the vegetables for the meat lol. I could barely taste any guacamole on there and the burrito was very dry. Luckily, she brought me some more salsa, so I doused that on the burrito. Service was very slow, even though there was just a few people. No big deal. I was in no rush. They also had the door open (it was cold winter day), so it is a bit drafty. You'll need a jacket. The music was full blast, very loud. I don't know if you can hear it in my video, but you definitely cannot hold a conversation. So not a good date place. The waitress may have misunderstood me earlier because of the loud music, when I asked for veggies on my burrito. Who knows, so hopefully they can turn down the volume just a notch. This is a sister restaurant that just opened of La Jaiba down the street and it's just as good. My favorite thing is the flautas plate with chicken. Everything is so flavorful & they have my favorite rice and beans. I don't think I'll ever find another refried bean as flavorful as La Jaiba, you could drown me in it and I'd die happy. The inside is great for a cute brunch lunch or dinner or whenever you want some food. We've only done pick up so far, which is easy and convenient for us living locally. I was fortunate enough to have one of the owners serve my table and had the chance to get to know more about the upbringing of La Jaiba Mexigrill. They're currently in their soft opening and expected to have a grand opening by early January as I've been told. La Jaiba Mexigrill is a beautiful restaurant that serves traditional Oaxacan cuisine such as molotes and tlayudas. These dishes are amazing and a fun way to introduce more traditional Mexican dishes that are not too commonly seen in San Jose. When visiting La Jaiba Mexigrill with family or friends make sure to order a tlayuda (klah-you-dah) for the table as an appetizer or even entree. More delicious plates include their massive molcajetes and their grilled red snapper fish! These dishes are heavily inspired from Nayarit flavors. La Jaiba Mexigrill does a great job at having flavorful and delicious seafood dishes. So excited to come back and try various other dishes. If you're in for an early brunch make sure to ask for some pan dulce and traditional Mexican hot chocolate to go with it. If you want a quick bite for lunch mark sure to drop on in and get their Baja Fish Tacos! So delicious and flavorful and they're made with handmade corn tortillas. The dining area and bar are beautifully decorated and it really is an amazing experience. From sitting at the bar, or a table or their comfy booths your experience here will be wonderful. My cousin and I tried this new Mexican restaurant in Campbell. It's only been open for 2 months now. The service is so cordial and welcoming and the ambiance is open, fun, and festive. We were surprised the restaurant was not busier during the lunch hour. We hope more people come and try this nice establishment. We both had the soft tacos luncheon special with salad, rice and beans. Both the carnitas and the al pastor were excellent. The tortillas were soft and warm. Everything tasted homemade. The servers were so friendly and eager to seat us. They were quick take our drink order and allow Is time to cruise the menu. The menu is extensive and you really have study it. The pricing is a little high but the portions are larges and in my opinion everything is shareable or great amount of leftovers. We had the chicken mole tostadas. The flavor was good, could be a little sweeter. The portion could have filled four tostadas. I had the queso Birria , that consume was amazing and a little spicy.. Taco was filled with a lot of meat, so delicious. We also ordered the grilled fish taco , fish was fresh and perfectly grilled. The three street tacos, one with carnitas and two carne asada, all the tacos were good but the clear winner was the carnitas. The carnitas were perfectly crisp. Since it's still fairly new, it's less crowded than the original spot, which makes it perfect for conversation and a more relaxed dining experience. I came on a Saturday evening around 4-5 pm for an early dinner and it was pleasantly calm. The staff here is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were happy to make off-menu adjustments and substitutions, which I really appreciated. I ordered the mole and asked for beans and tortillas -- and the tortillas were homemade and outstanding. The mole itself was beautifully balanced between spicy and sweet, rich without being heavy. The rice deserves its own shoutout -- unbelievably flavorful and honestly good enough to be a standalone dish. The enchiladas were excellent, and the drinks were strong yet well balanced. I especially appreciated the guava drink -- refreshing and not overly sweet. Since this location is newer, I haven't explored the menu as extensively as the original yet, but it's still very large and includes a great seafood selection that I'm excited to try soon.
