Really friendly and kind staff. I went in to order the ceviche with mango, three fish tacos, Mexican rice, horchata and a agua de piña. I waited about 20ish minutes while sitting at the bar. I got my drinks first then my Togo order nicely packed. Once I got home, I opened the bag to find two of three of my items weren't what I ordered. In the bag there was agua chile and a plate with carne asada, small portion of rice, and beans. If they would've come out and say "hey we actually don't have mango ceviche right now is it ok to swap for an agua chile?" And "we are out of Mexican rice" Would've been appreciated. Although I wasn't disappointed by the food, the fish tacos were amazing and their drinks were great, I was disappointed because the items weren't what I ordered. From the first time we tried Agua Salada from its early days we knew this would be a staple for us in San Jose because you cant go wrong here. We came for Valentines Day weekend, and while we missed the live music we were able to still receive the complimentary champagne and a rose from the owner. I ordered the camarones pa la diabla, which was a good amount of shrimp, with rice and beans. I opted for the tortillas de harina, which also were very good. There were a few times the food tasted saltier than my preference, but it didnt ruin the dish. We also got the deconstructed sushi rolls, which were very good and fresh. Not pictured was my partners ceviche de jiba (crab) that actually had fresh crab (and not imitation). Prices are on par with other restaurants, and for the bay area. The owner came around and checked-in on tables around us too, which was a nice touch. Both were a bit more expensive than i would expect at this place $18 and $9. From the size and quality, marg should have been $12. Service was good early on, and then got a little slow when trying to get check. Seemed really 1 server, 1 bartender, and 2 other guys mainly just talking when I saw them. The ambiance infact seems similar to Anejo as well but apparently it's a brand new restaurant with new owners. *USP: slightly upscale Mexican cuisine. I didn't have the fish tacos but they are double the size of an avg taco and mainly filled with fish and not filler ingredients. Portions are massive across the board at reasonable prices. This was a food truck and now this is their brick and mortar restaurant. As an avid food lover I had to try, so off we went on a weekday night hopeful it'd be our new favorite spot. Great option for Mariscos! We went on a Friday evening and the place was bustling with energy and a live band. Despite the crowd, we were seated promptly. The menu features an array of seafood options. We tried two dishes from the ceviche menu (ceviche de camaron con mango en salsas negras, ceviche de jaiba) and the super Baja style fish tacos. The ceviches came with a basket of saltines and tostadas. Even though we ordered the smaller size ceviche and 2-taco option, the portion sizes were hefty. This place is really, really good! Like everyone else, the directions threw us for a loop. When Google takes you to the park, you have to go to the right (when looking in the direction of the park entrance from the street), and you'll see a sign at the end of the cul-de-sac. The portions are very generous too, in addition to being flavorful. The ceviche was delicious, and thinking about it makes my mouth water for it. Its a gummy texture. Sinaloa ceviche is crudo but not thaat crudo. Aguachile is usually on the greyer side because its supposed to tan quick but they cut the pieces so big that they wont ever tan(curtir) in the time you are in the restaurant. The ceviche should not be grey. They did not tan (curtir) it long enough. Ive had ceviche in multiple Mazatlán locations, it was never grey. My original 5-star review proves how much I once loved Agua Salada, which makes my disappointment now all the more real. And as a side note, I am very aware of how an agua preparada is made which is exactly why I brought it up in my review. What we were served was simply sparkling water with lime juice squeezed into it. No tajín, no preparation, nothing more and nothing less. You are absolutely correct that we could have brought it up during service, but that doesn't change the fact that this is what was delivered to our table, and that is the experience I reflected here. Clarifying pricing is fair, but accusing me of being "misleading" or "mischaracterizing" my experience is dismissive. Reviews are not supposed to be PR copy they reflect how guests actually feel about their food, the value, and the service. Responding with lectures and blame doesn't change the fact that the consistency has slipped, and the experience no longer matches the price point. I drove from the East Bay to support your business, because I believed in it. Instead of taking that feedback in stride, your response chose defensiveness over hospitality. It was a huge portion of food and the tacos were STACKED! they were not only scrumptious but the presentation was beautiful! Service again was great! Restaurant clean! I visited Mazatlan not too long ago and I was lucky to have found a spot in which the food tastes almost exactly like the food over there. Worth the 30 minute drive. One time we were there and Banda Corona del Rey showed up to eat there. I CRAVE the green aguachile de camaron all the time. I have been here multiple times and always order the same thing. I tried other dishes like the ceviche, sushi, shrimp tacos, and camarones zarandeados and I can say that they have all been very good. Their chipotle mayo tastes delicious on the tostadas. Also, you have to try the chiltepin salsa as well! Spicy and tangy at the same time. Their micheladas and cantaritos de piña con mango is also very good. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant since they first opened. We enjoy supporting small businesses and love the story - started in a food truck. Their food and prices are very good. Yesterday we arrived around 6:30pm. It's good that they finally have a separate drinks menu. Why only 3 stars? The live music was WAY TOO LOUD! We couldn't have a conversation. We sat as far away from the band as possible. As soon as we finished our plate, I couldn't wait to leave. My ears were ringing. Owner: If you're reading this, please lower the speakers.
