    Best guacamole ever!

Amazing fish fried tacos, family friendly and inviting ambiance. Best guacamole! Once we got the servers attention our visit was the best! Thank you

    My friends Salmon tacos

Had lunch here for the first time with some of my Yelp Elite friends. La Jaiba is located on the corner of Winchester and Hamilton Ave in Campbell. They share a parking lot with other businesses in that area. The place is huge inside with lovely decor and gold chairs. They also have a few screen TV's for watching football/soccer. I got there a little earlier than my friends. I asked for a large table for us. Our waitress brought out four waters and gave menus for us to look at. She also brought us some chips and salsa. That salsa was very spicy. I could only have a little taste. After everyone arrived, we decided to order. I ended up getting the street tacos with steak. You can make it a meal by adding beans and rice. So I did just that. Everyone else ordered something different. For some reason, it took a long time to get our food, like over 35 minutes. The menu had a nice variety of options. Finally, our food came out. My tacos were not good. The meat was overcooked and dry, and the corn tortillas were overly dry too. The refried beans were the star of my dish. I asked for extra beans instead of rice, and they had no problem with that. The refried beans were really good. There was also a tiny salad on my plate, and that was really good too. Everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. The staff were very friendly. After we all finished eating, we just sat and talked with each other for about 3 hours. Our waitress even came out and refilled our waters before we left. All that talking left us parched LOL. I think if I come back, I will try some of the items my friends ordered. There food looked really good.

Two item Lunch Plate - Enchiladas: 1 cheese & 1 shredded beef

I came here to La Jaiba Mexigrill with some Yelp friends (Diane W & Henry M) to check this restaurant out. Parking is decent in this plaza - no issues. Spacious restaurant with inside and outside seating options. House music playing throughout the inside. There is a full bar with beer on tap, tequila, etc. About four LCD TVs with professional football (soccer) playing on each. Two separate single-user men and women's restrooms. The service was friendly, patient, and attentive. I went with the Two item Lunch Plate - Enchiladas: 1 cheese & 1 shredded beef. Both were good. The shredded beef was tender and juicy. The cheese one was just as good. I mean the red sauce was good as was everything on the plate. Though, I wish the Enchiladas had more filling in them. Agua Fresca Cucumber & Lime. This was very delicious and refreshing. They really make it well here. My friends ordered the... Chimichanga with Al Pastor - had a good fry on it and the meat was really tasty. Though, later he mentioned that his stomach wasn't sitting that well. Maybe the oil used wasn't fresh. Salmon Tacos - good amount of salmon in each taco. Street Tacos with Carne Asada. My friend thought the meat was too dry. She wouldn't get this again. But would come back to try their other dishes.

Chips and salsa on the house

**USP: sister restaurant of the already popular La Jaiba just down the street. Extensive menu covering a lot of Mexican dishes. Surprisingly they have sushi on the menu as well. **AMBIANCE: would call it a cross of funky on one side, traditional on the other. Place is huge, they have gold colored chairs. Never saw gold colored chairs in a restaurant before so that's new. **FOOD: Menu is huge, prices are not so low. It was confusing to pick something from so many options. Kids stuck to their usual tacos, I got a trio platter with enchilada, tostada and tamale. Though it's not shown on the menu, we can order any taco for $5 each so we got some of those. They got us chips and salsa on the house like most other places. Salsa was okayish, it felt saucy, similar to the bottled variety. Crispy tacos were tough to chew. The tortilla was chewy rather than being crisp. Rest of the items were all about average, be it the rice, beans or the meat. Service was painfully slow as well.

Stopped by for the molcajetes and while they were decent, they didn't really stand out flavor-wise. The ingredients tasted fresh, but I expected a little more seasoning and depth. Service was also pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't too busy. That said, the ambience was probably the best part of the visit. The restaurant has a lively, colorful atmosphere that makes it a nice place to hang out with friends or family.

I don't leave reviews often. Everything was phenomenal and decor was incredible to match. Ceviche was amazing and huge portion. Marguerita was great. Tacos were awesome too.

This is a good addition to the Campbell dining scene. I stopped by for lunch recently and really enjoyed the fun, lively ambiance. The service was quick and friendly, and the mole was outstanding--rich, complex, and full of flavor. Always happy to see more Oaxacan options in the area. Oaxaca is on the list of places to visit!

House tequila gone! Fabulous! Can't wait for it to be bottled!

1.28.26 We came to La Jaiba tonight with a large group of 22 people to wish our dear friend farewell. As always, everything was on point. The food is so fresh, the drinks are so balanced, and the staff is just lovely. Again, their housemade tequila is amazing. It is so smooth, with no burn, no aftertaste, and a fresh citrus type taste. All who tried it absolutely loved it. HIGHLY recommended and honestly, it is so good it can be a straight shot. It would almost be criminal to mix it with anything! Their mixed drinks are perfectly balanced and not harsh at all. The food never disappoints! Soooo fresh, so flavorful, huge portions, and clean tasting. You don't get any hint of dirty oil or 'old' ingredients. We have not been disappointed with anything yet! The menu is so huge it's really hard to decide what to order. The carnitas are top notch! The grilled shrimp are so delicious and perfectly cooked! The fish tacos are fire! The homemade tortillas are phenomenal. You really can't go wrong. We were graced with a homemade Tres Leches cake that was to die for! It was like a butterscotch tasting top layer with a vanilla custard tasting center. The cake was super moist but not 'wet'. Kudos to the Oaxacan chef who is developing these amazing creations!

Wifey and I, along with a couple of other Yelp elite's had our own "Yelp event" here today. We spent 4 hours keeping each other company. The interior is quite big with about 4 TV's hung up around the restaurant, some nice mural paintings on the wall, and the seating and tables are quite nice as well. They have a full bar too. The menu is quite extensive, I went with the chimichanga El, Pastor Burrito and wifey got the salmon tacos. Wifey liked the salmon tacos and said that they gave her a lot of salmon with the tacos. The chimichanga. Was very good and the El Pastor flavors was on point, however I did get a little bit of feed back from my stomach about 5 hours later from the fried burrito shell "the oil that they used to fry it was not good" the servers were friendly and did a good job. They also gave us chips and salsa with our meal. The price point it IMO is a little on the pricey side.

    Super burrito (vegetarian)
    Ni G.

We came in at 11 am and they offered regular items and breakfast as well . We ordered the pepino y limon (cucumber/lemon) drink , vegetarian super burrito and grilled chicken taco plate . All of these were really delicious . The cucumber lemon drink is made of fresh ingredients and tastes really refreshing . The super burrito was delicious and came with some greens on the side . The service was great . The staff would come by and check up on us to see if we were enjoying the food and drinks . The ambiance is nice and decorations are vibrant .

Lots of super fresh seafood and other meat options

Ate here last night with my girlfriend, and it was really really good. This is their new, bigger restaurant with the big huge dining room. This one is near FedEx, Kinko's and Walgreens at the corner of Hamilton in Winchester. They have another small Taqueria down on Hamilton We had shrimp tacos, had a shrimp salad. My friend had the fajitas mixed stuff which included some crab legs. I had one of their Modelo especial on tap and tried their horchata. We agreed that everything was delicious and fresh. The menu is kind of long and intense. It's a pretty wild selection of things that you can order from them. I know that they know what they're doing since they have several other restaurants but man this menu is crazy long and intense. The service is really friendly. They have a smallish bar there about six chairs. And tons and tons of dining room tables. Lots of light lots of windows lots of plants. Along time ago, it was sushi boat restaurant. Be sure to try them out stop by and support their business in Campbell.

My wife and I came to visit the soft opening of La Jaiba Mexican Grill Restaurant at 10 E Hamilton Ave, Campbell, CA 95008 The restaurant is brand new so everything is very clean. The tables and chairs are amazing looking (see pictures) and the place was very spacious with 3 TVs and a sitting bar area. The decor was incredible with paintings right on the walls. The menu was huge with anything you could ask for. There is even a breakfast menu (from 9 AM-2 PM) that includes pancakes, omelets, benedicts, and a host of other items. Jennifer, our server, greeted us and explained the menu. She was polite, friendly, and professional. I noticed they were serving Sushi on the menu. I figured, why not have Sushi in a Mexican restaurant? So I ordered a california roll and a hibiscus drink. We also had a mineragua, beef huarache, and a pork red pozole. Everything was fresh made, properly seasoned, and absolutely delicious! The pork was so tender and flavorful. The drinks were cold and refreshing. I am a huge fan of the first La Jaiba location and always felt welcomed and appreciated. I experienced this at their new location. It is a very large restaurant which can easily handle groups or special events. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this FABULOUS place!

Super burrito. I asked for veggies, but I didn't get any. It was very dry. It tasted good though, but it was just lacking flavor.

I've been meaning to try this place. Pros: it's pretty big inside. As another yelper mentioned, they have fairly decent comfortable seating, which is great. You don't feel like you're crammed into a small space. The chips and salsa were good. The chips were a little bit bland. However, the salsa was amazing. I also like how they bring it to your table with no extra charge. The interior was clean and fairly modern looking. The cons, I asked the waitress for the super burrito (from the lunch section). I asked her if I could have vegetables in it instead of meat. She assured me yes, no problem. However, the burrito didn't have any vegetables in it, other than just a little bit of lettuce and tomato, which was scant. I feel like they shouldn't have charged me for a super burrito price since they couldn't even swap the vegetables for the meat lol. I could barely taste any guacamole on there and the burrito was very dry. Luckily, she brought me some more salsa, so I doused that on the burrito. Service was very slow, even though there was just a few people. No big deal. I was in no rush. They also had the door open (it was cold winter day), so it is a bit drafty. You'll need a jacket. The music was full blast, very loud. I don't know if you can hear it in my video, but you definitely cannot hold a conversation. So not a good date place. The waitress may have misunderstood me earlier because of the loud music, when I asked for veggies on my burrito. Who knows, so hopefully they can turn down the volume just a notch. Also, the servers will be able hear better that way too.

Arrived and was told they dont open until 4p. So we had to walk out and kill some time. Mind you....we are starving! We come back. 4p place is empty and apparently they're now open. I ask for a table instead of a two seater high top. Was told couldn't get a bigger table because they have some large groups that need them. Reminder, were the only ones there and place is completely empty. And we got there at our reservation time and got turned away. I agree to a smaller table even though I really wanted to walk out, and we sit down. Not even a minute passes and this same wait staff walks up to our table and then proceeds to tell us the two large groups canceled (maybe they also had a 345p reservation??) and we could have a bigger table now. Are you kidding me??? Maybe check first before telling customers no. Moving on. Ordered drinks. The cajarillo. AMAZING!!! It was creamy on top, not too alcohol forward definitely well balanced & just made up for the previous 5 minutes. I am forgiving, to an extent - great cocktails help. The food..see below: - Queso Fundido + Chorizo my favorite dish. Creamy, chorizo full of flavor and added the saltiness that the creamy cheese needed. - Ceviche pretty good. Not bad about what I expected for a ceviche. - Birria Tacos was just OK. Again a bit of an issue. Menu says it comes with habanero salsa. We didn't realize it until after. Pointed it out to the sane waitress. She responds with there's no habanero salsa on the birria tacos & that we should have asked instead. Mind you she never checked on us after we got our food until we were done. Oh she also came back and said they removed the salsa because it was too spicy so that's why it wasn't included. Menu description though, clearly includes it. Again misinformation. SIGH. - Strawberry Galette seasonal. Was not as crispy as we thought it should be. I was celebrating my birthday and waitress said they don't have a bday dessert but that she would add a candle. She didn't add one, no candle on the dessert. - Cajarillo x 2 BEST THING FROM THIS MEAL. PERIOD. As far as patrons. Party of 2 came in right after us off the street no reservations, she seated them at a larger table. Another party of 4 or 5 also larger table. Three tables in the entire place and she couldn't accommodate any of our requests. Ps. I always order a lot of food & she gave us a smaller table so I couldn't. That cajarillo might be the only thing I ever order here IF I come back.

Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. What made me come back to Aquis is eating with the same friend who hyped up the place. She told me I could actually get different veggies and try it with the herb sauce. When I did this, it was a game changer!! It was nice that I could enjoy a full meal and the herb sauce is a must every time I dine. It is a creamy, fresh sauce that can be paired with anything. It tasted great with the salmon too. You may be thinking, why not order a different dish if I don't like coleslaw? The thing is, the other dishes here are more of mexican cuisine, and I rather go to an authentic joint. Also, they cook seafood very well!
