The Crispy Burger store at the Regents Marketplace in La Jolla shares its space with La Jolla Boba. The two businesses replaced a taco shop and salad spot that were operated by the same ownership group. Parking can be validated if you bring the ticket to the service counter where an employee can authorize the charge to be free during a visit. Otherwise, the rate was $1 per 15 minutes. Upon walking into the double suite, La Jolla Boba was straight ahead and to the right. You could place an order using the self-service tablet stand or at the counter. The beverage categories were classics, specialties, and hot drinks (teas, Vietnamese coffee). Serving sizes for the boba teas were regular 20 oz and large 24 oz. For the regular size, it cost $5 for a classic and $6 for a specialty. For the large size, it was one dollar more for each category. Toppings cost $1 each. I arrived during a weekday lunch hour. To my disappointment, the brown sugar boba was not available because it was still being warmed up. The wait was around 40 minutes before the pearls would be ready. I don't understand why the boba wasn't prepared before the business opened at 11:00. It's a planning issue that the staff needs to rectify. My order was a large Passionfruit Green Tea with less ice and no toppings. The tea flavor wasn't strong as it was obscured by the fruity sweetness. The cost for my drink was $6.21 plus sales tax. That meant a 3.5% fee was added without an explanation. I assume it was a service or convenience charge that should have been described on the receipt. I gave a three star rating for my boba tea experience at La Jolla Boba.

Came by here since I was in the area and it was a very nice experience. A cool place to grab a drink (and a burger if you'd like since it's connected to another shop) and hang, the menu had a nice selection. Ended up with a lavender milk tea (good but a bit sweet, boba was chewy) and a La Jolla Shores (so cool looking, sweet but it is cotton candy flavored!). Staff were very helpful and nice, and they even offered an insulated bag to carry the drinks out. Thanks so much!

Come down to San Diego for a conference and this is across from the hotel. The drink is rather good and they definitely put a lot of fruit or boba into the drinks. Once you order using the kiosk, they make the drinks rather quickly depending on the amount of people there at the time. It does share a building with another restaurant but it is still a nice setting. We loved the drinks and have been back twice now.

Wanted something sweet before picking my daughter up from school. Found this place on Yelp. The lady who took our order was very nice. They had pretty cool drink items but I chose the La Jolla drink. It's located inside of a plaza inside of a burger spot. Parking can be validated so that's a plus because it is paid parking only.

I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it wasn't as great as I had hoped. Even at 1/2 sweet, my drink was too sweet and didn't have as much tea flavor as I had hoped. I likely won't be back. FYI, it shares a space with the neighboring burger restaurant. No issues with service, just missed the mark for me on the drinks.

The service here is amazing! The staff is super welcoming and friendly!! It just so happened that I came to try this place on national boba day! So they had these cute little bags!! They make their strawberry matcha with fresh cut strawberries that they cut daily, and they have all the milk substitution options which is awesome. I loved the strawberry matcha, and will definitely be coming back to try more drinks!!

After driving around aimlessly in the paid parking nightmare that is la jolla (locals shouldn't have to pay, just sayin'), I settled on this spot for a quick treat and some computer work while my man got his self care sauna and cryo on at Chill N Out. I loved my oatmilk matcha boba drink! note to reader, I have not had boba in like more than a decade so I don't feel like im experienced enough to have a well researched and educated opinion about authentic or chef's kiss boba. BUT I LOVED IT! and which i ordered the bigger one, and which i had known it was much easier to suck up the boba when there was still liquid in the cup. may have unlocked a new treat obsession. if only it was lavender/rosemary flavored, OMG i would be floored. the place shared space with crispy burger and there is two entrances to the shared space. the manager/owner person was so nice, and proactive. she saw i was working on my laptop and suggested i sit at the tables with power/charging stations. LOVE THIS! every place should have this, but it is so rare to find. this alone warrants a star on its own.

Got the House Special Milk Tea and the strawberry matcha. The house tea is quite solid. What you can expect when you.l get a house milk tea. I didn't get any seeetness adjustments and it's a pretty good level. I would recommend. The strawberry bits in the matcha are tasty and sweet but the matcha doesn't taste as rich as other places. Still okay, but that knocks it down a little for me. The inside is nice, was empty so probably good for studying. Price is not bad considering La Jolla

Can never go wrong with the La Jolla Sunrise!!! Seriously one of my favorite drinks anywhere!! It's so refreshing especially on a hot summer day!! The service is always spot on and we are always greeted with a smile!! Support this business and while you are there pick up a burger from crispy burger to enjoy as they are in the same spot!! Highly recommend both spots!!

A Rare Gem in the Boba World - La Jolla Boba I normally don't write reviews about boba -- I've been drinking it my whole life -- but La Jolla Boba truly deserves one. What makes this place stand out isn't just the drink (which is absolutely delicious), but the combination of the cozy atmosphere and the incredible owner, Angela. Even though it's her first time making boba, Angela has clearly done her homework. She's learned from Taiwanese traditions and brings that authentic touch to every cup. You can really taste the difference -- it's rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. What makes this place even more special is the warm, welcoming vibe. It's a perfect spot to relax solo, hang out with friends, or even bring the whole family. Angela has gone above and beyond, even installing rapid phone chargers for customers' convenience -- and if you're a San Diego local, she might just surprise you with a free refill. La Jolla Boba isn't just a drink stop -- it's a place where you feel cared for. Highly recommend checking it out. You'll come for the boba and stay for the hospitality.

NATALIA IS AMAZING best customer service ever she was such a vibe made me feel so loved, drinks were 10/10 so beautiful, not skimpy on the portions would totally recommend love our girl natalia make sure to say hi!

Our orders were taken quickly, and large waters with lemon were brought out to us. Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

First off, if you're in San Diego, this should be your only must-visit. I rarely go back to places I've already reviewed, but Hodads is a MUST, non-negotiable!!! The dining room is not fancy and looks like a teenager's bedroom with stickers and license plates adorning the walls. While the burger speaks for itself, whether you get the mini, reg, or double, the patties are thick, juicy, with fresh veggies and a soft, sweet bun to soak up those juices. This goes for the onion rings too, that don't seem to come out of the dryer in a bag. At the end of the day, the service was fast and friendly and carried the ocean vibe a Cali burger joint should have. I even picked up my Hodads T-shirt to probably advertise on my travels! My only question and curiosity is in the fries. I'm not a fan of wedges, and I feel like my last visit, they were thick-seasoned traditional fries. Fries or wedges, it will never change how I feel about Hodads!!!

Rocky's Burgers is a casual burger spot located in Pacific Beach, known for its juicy burgers,…read moresimple menu, and convenient location in a busy beachside area with a laid-back, local vibe. Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.

The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.
