Very accommodating upon our entry. They checked us off on their list, got our food to us very quickly, and had my to go order for my kids waiting in the wings for our eventual exit. Unlike my friend, @Kubo, who said lots of parking. We arrived two hours after her, about 6:20pm, and the parking lot was near topped off, forcing some to have to park in unpaved areas. This was mostly due to the neighboring gym. (Sorry for those who have slammed vehicles without bags.) The crispy pork was delicious and crunchy. The chicken had a sweet to its savory. Very happy with the sauce choices as well. And sticky rice for the win. Two restrooms available. Half the tables were occupied by customers. One table by other Yelpers, who I wanted to take a picture with, but they were mid chomp. Disappeared while I was stuffing my face. Noise level was average, with adorable children throughout, music playing, and lots of order pickups. Will be happy to return!
LA Kitchen is literally 1/4 mile from my humble abode. Staff remembers me from a previous Yelp experience. My take home to go food item was on the front counter next to the cashier. The Asian persuasion atmosphere is ever present with the home cook smells from the kitchen, the delicious fresh to go yummy appetizers & desserts with all the consumers enjoying authentic food. I highly recommend LA Kitchen for your take home Asian cookery or partake fresh off the grill prepared Asian cuisine in house. Ala cuisine! Mabuhi!! Masarap!!!
LA Kitchen prides themselves on being a "home away from home", whether that be with their beautiful dining space, plenty of laughter, or great food. The employees are so nice and friendly and really make the space feel inviting. They also have something for everyone here, from Chinese food to Laotian food to Vietnamese and Thai food. If you want fresh vegetables, hot comforting soup, or saucy flavorful noodles, this is the place to be. (Not to mention the plethora of Asian dessert available for purchase!) I came in and was served many dishes to photograph, and each of them looked absolutely delicious. I got to try 2 things in particular: the pork belly and the orange chicken and chow mein. Let's talk about that pork belly--I just couldn't stop eating it! It was crispy on the outside skin and the perfect amount of fatty, juicy, and tender in the meat part. And if that alone was not already delicious, the SAUCE!! The sauce was acidic, fresh, and absolutely addicting. I was picking up pieces of pork belly just for the sauce! The orange chicken and chow mein was also a hit--the perfect size of chicken pieces, the right amount of sauce, and saucy, flavorful chow mein with fresh vegetables. I mean, really a treat. I also got to drink their Thai tea, and it was sweet and creamy and perfectly refreshing to finish off my big meal. The restaurant got really busy at lunch and it's so comforting to see so many people gather for great food and just relax and enjoy a meal. Not to mention, the dishes I photographed were graciously given away to customers--these owners and employees are just incredible. Parking was easy, plenty to go around. Make sure to check them out and don't skip on the pork belly!
The sticky rice places are my favorite! The fried chicken is so juicy! Their chili sauce isn't too spice but it's a good combo with the rice. The spring rolls are really good too and they are big. There wasn't much of a waiting time, the staff was helpful they recommended the pork belly 10/10.
With kind service, fast-casual dine in and takeout, and the tasty memory of pork belly, I was super eager to return. Met up with my Yelp friend, I ordered Steam Rice, Pork Belly, Fried Chicken, Namkao (Red Curry Coconut Rice Salad), and a Thai Iced Coffee. My coffee wasn't super sweet, but I have an overwhelming sweet tooth. Tried her Papaya Salad, and it was SO GOOD, just too spicy for me. Hoping to return again soon with my family and more friends.
My mom really wanted some Kapoon. I went by to LA kitchen for some. Drove all the way home and when my mom open it, the veggies they gave us were super yellow and old...and noodles were saggy. I drove all the way back for refund. Overall the food was bad but the customer service was good. They didn't escalate things or try to be rude. They just gave me a refund in cash. I like the customer service. I just don't know what happen to the food.
The food here was great. Everything was authentic and delicious. I'm a big Pad Thai person, and I like that the chicken on the pad Thai wasn't regular stir fried chicken. It was grilled marinated chicken. We had a pretty big party and all the food came out quickly. Like every Thai restaurant, the inside is fairly small. Aside from the food and drinks to order, everything is self served, so there will not be a waiter or waitress coming to your table. You go and make your orders at the front register. They have paper plates, napkins, plastic forks and spoons, and to-go plates available. LA Kitchen is definitely a favorite in Fresno. Love their dessert and drink options. All other Thai restaurants I've been to are incomparable.
Food: the food here is delicious and fresh. Their sticky rice is always nice and warm. The pork belly is so crispy and the sauce they give is so addicting. I also love their salmon laab. It's just the right amount of spice. Their chicken is really good with the jel sauce and sticky rice. Their chowmein was ok. And broccoli beef could have used a little spice Service: very quick to go options. Ambiance: quaint little shop.
Really enjoy this restaurant. They have amazing veggies, spring rolls and also shrimp spring rolls. The service is very friendly and speedy. It only took 20 minutes . i've never eaten in, but it looks very clean.
This place is still one of the best places in Fresno to grab a bite to eat. The service is fast, friendly and always delicious. It can get busy but it's a must!
The staff were super friendly and accommodating with smiles. The inside was decorated with cultural items that looked really cool. Let me start by saying that the Tai tea was amazing! I'll be back to get more Thai tea for sure. The food was okay. The chicken had a really yummy unique flavor, but it was a bit dry. The sticky rice was nice and chewy. But the fried pork belly was really dry. It was hard to eat because the really dry parts were not even chewable. It came with 2 containers of dipping sauces; one tasted and smelled really vinegary and the other was pretty good. Overall, it was a very filling meal, but the meats were dry.
I was really excited this yelp event but the food wasn't what I expected I guess? The pork belly was really fatty :( and my rice tasted a bit old it was sorta hard not sure if it was suppose to be like that but the Thai tea was so refreshing it was my 1st time try that & this place very what seems family oriented! Super clean inside with plenty of seating & the service was fast everyone was walking in n out with bags! Not sure if I will go back tho I have tried in the past and they get really busy but I'm glad I got to try it now!
So we travel from Northeast area to see this restaurant. As we got there, we could clearly see where the restaurant was. Front area looks very appealing. Had menu on the window and specials on the side on a stand up sign.As we walked in the we were greeted by the nice cashier.She explained the menu and asked if we had any questions. We got two pieces of roasted chicken with pork belly plus sticky rice. We also decided to order their spring roll with shrimp .There chicken taste just like how my mom would make it so it brought me back to home.I would say their food is delicious and would go back again. Parking was plenty full too.
The 4-star average lured me on, but I just don't agree. Two of us had the chicken pho which was ok, the broth was a bit bland with chicken, Napa cabbage and noodles. My friend had the shrimp spring rolls which she couldn't finish as the shrimp was rubbery and flavorless. Hubby had the orange chicken which was very doughy and overcooked. Gave it a try, but don't need to revisit. read more

Food is pretty good! Got the pork belly plate, and damn is the pork juicy and crispy at the same time. Perfection. The sauce they give with it is good too. I also bought jel pong as well to go with it. Bruh, to say it's good is an understatement. They make their jels here pretty damn good The service was quick and easy. Super friendly as well. Walking in was good, simple little place to grab a bite or order to go. Will be back soon read more
Nice people running this place. The space used to house Taste Kitchen so I was familiar with the layout. The dining area is on the smaller side. The portions of the chicken plate are very generous. The skin had that 'jerky' texture which I love! Also tried the egg rolls and they're better or rival similar places in town. They were not seeping with grease and were not cooked in old oil which is key to that fresh and crispy texture. I have a lot of family on this side of town and food choices can be minimal unless it's drive thru. so glad LA kitchen has become an option! read more
Very clean and friendly, welcoming staff. Menu is simple and posted. Ordered the sticky rice with chicken, full-sized fried pork belly and med spiced papaya salad. Waited about 5 mins for our food. Most of the sticky rice and chicken, sausage and pork belly is all prepacked in the warmer. The sticky rice with chicken was a huge portion, there was literally 4 chickens the chicken was good it did have a slight sweet flavor to it, jel came in the packaging. The pork belly was fresh and crunchy the sauce that came with it was green and was a bit too salty for my taste. The papaya salad was delicious I was worried it would be too spicy since I accidently ordered med instead of mild but it all worked out, there was a nice spicy kick to it but I didn't think it was too overwhelming where it wasn't enjoyable. They have a sitting area to the right as you enter. Overall, it was a good experience, customer service was great and they worked fast and handled the rush quite well and the food was good. Food was very basic. Almost like a fancy Panda Express. We ordered the sweet & spicy chicken and chow main plate , orange chicken and fried rice plate, and crispy pork belly and sticky rice. The plates are big and could've be shared. I liked the chow main. The fried rice was mushy. I found it strange that the crispy pork belly was pre-made when all the plate items had to be made. Reminded me of 11-7 food. Hopefully they switch out their food often. read more
My second time coming in a week. Price is at a good price point for quality and service! (-) *Some things they could improve is the amount of herbs/condiments supplied with is low (no fish sauce/soy sauce) supplied for take out or dine in *The 2nd time we came, the bean sprouts were wilted & going bad *Self service table dine in, about 4-5 tables *Dine in, everything to-go style containers (+) *Food came out fast (less then 10 min wait time) dine in *Good price point for quality and service *Good location & parking space Food: -Pho was a good portion size! More of homestyle pho style -Papaya was also great! -Pork belly was fairly crispy, sauce is very refreshing! I thought it was going to be the jeow for fried chicken but it's a different sauce. More like the sauce they use for steam rolls but taste more gingering/limey. Very nice kick! -Would stay away from their pork larb. Didn't mention on the menu nor did I see upon walking in but the larb was pre-made and stored in the fridge. Dry, cold and no flavor. Giving it a 4/5 considering they just opened and the price points are pretty fair. Just know ahead it's more of a quick take out or stop then a dine-in style experience. This location is pretty close to home so would def be a repeat customer to stop by for a quick fix or pick up for dinner! read more

Last month, I bought 2 orders of the crispy pork belly. I picked them up and was super excited to share them with my friend since we often go there to eat the pork belly. When I opened them 10 minutes later, they were old and dry. I couldn't go back because we were doing a picnic lunch with her son at school. When I called LA Kitchen to let them know I didn't appreciate the old pork belly they gave me, she claimed that they only sell fresh pork belly. Didn't apologize or anything, just tried to brush me off and said they don't serve old pork belly. I've had their pork belly enough to know it does not look like that when fresh. Paid $36 for 2 orders of this old dried pork belly. Super disappointed and will never go back. read more
Came here on a Saturday evening with the family. Order and pay at the front, choose a table. Sticky rice was perfectly cooked. Chicken has good flavor. First time trying Salmon Laab. Was not disappointed. Good portion Pork belly was perfectly cooked. Crispy skin. Not dry. Sauce was good also. Papaya was pretty good. Not the best I've had but still good. Overall, really good restaurant. All the dishes we tried are above average. Good portions to price. read more

We came here for lunch yesterday and it was hit or miss. The owners are the nicest people ever!! I would give them 3 1-2 stars if Yelp allowed me to. We ordered the fried chicken with sticky rice, mango sticky rice, larb, and chow mein with orange chicken. The fried chicken and mango sticky rice were very good. The chicken had very good flavor. The larb was solid and the lettuce was fresh. The chow mein and orange chicken was not great. The chow mein was soggy and was not my favorite. The orange chicken sauce was to goopy and not enough orange flavor. I will be back to try their soups I think that is what their best dishes are because everyone around us was ordering that. read more

First time we dine in was good with generous portion of pork belly and it was juicy. This time around I wasn't too impressed with the portion plus it was a tad dry. The beef larb is ground beef incase you're not into ground beef larb. If I had known it was ground beef I would've skipped that dish, taste was okay. Khapoon was good could be better, papaya salad was on point in terms of flavor. If you want restaurant quality find another restaurant in town to dine in, if you want Lao street food this would be the place to be! read more
Man, I don't know where to start with how incredible the food at LA Kitchen are. To start as an appetizer I had ordered the medium heat papaya salad and the steamed scrambled egg in the shell. The papaya salad, in my opinion was very refreshing and delectable. The flavor wasn't overpowering and the amount of heat was just right. Next, the Thai Boat bowl is packed with so much content and flavor that just by looking and smell the bowl already made me full. The broth is deep in flavor and it goes really well with the fried pork belly. I was surprised just how much food you get in the bowl. You won't be disappointed with how much food you get in the Thai boat bowl. The spicy raw beef laab was good. The beef is fresh and is seasoned with all of the right seasoning making it delicious with the sticky rice. The portion was pretty generous and the slices of the beef were prepared just right so you can pinch just enough of it with a small handful of sticky rice. Overall, I am exceptionally pleased with the quick service and preparation of the food. I loved every dish as every dish were super tasty! I plan on come back again the next time I am in town. This is probably my favorite Hmong restaurant in town to date. read more

I ordered the combo Orange Chicken with Chowmein noodles and a side of egg rolls (5 per order) $22.73 The good: I particularly enjoyed the egg rolls. They seemed fresh and served scorching hot. The bad: noodles were overcooked, mushy texture and VERY salty. The Orange chicken was also very salty. The sauce for the egg rolls was a bright red watery sugar mix that turned everything red that it touched. I know this Biden/Newsome economy is bad but at almost $23 dollars for what I got and will probably throw it in the bin to avoid getting sick. I should've just walked out after I saw the prices. I'm not sure how it has so many positive reviews. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items SMH. Probably won't return. read more

Ordered pork belly, fried chicken, spicy raw laab, spicy papaya... everything was amazing. Full of flavor. My favorite were pork belly and raw laab. But it wasn't spicy for me. 10/10 Papaya was okay and very sweet. 6/10 The sauces for the pork and chicken were bomb. 10/10 Customer service 10:10 I would come back whenever I'm in town. read more
Finally got to try this yummy restaurant. We got their pork belly with sticky rice, the jerky with sticky rice, and one of the garlic cheese breads to try. The pork belly was delicious - there was a good amount of meat on them, so they weren't just fat. The beef jerky was also delicious; this was a first try for me but it was literally like beef jerky. Flavorful and chewy. The sticky rice was good but I've had others that I liked better. It seemed a little under to me but might just be how they make it. The garlic cheese bread was good but the cream cheese was a bit too sweet for me. I had read previous reviews that mentioned the sweetness, but I didn't expect it to be that sweet. The bread itself was really good though! read more

Ordered take out and for the tofu curry, I got a bowl full of greasy oil before I got to the actual curry and tofu. I understand a layer of oil, but almost half the takeout cup is ridiculous. That said, once I got to the curry, it was decent, and the other dishes we had like the kua mee and larb salmon were good. Give me less grease next time! read more

The chicken was actually really good, and the sticky rice portion was the right amount, unlike other local spots. The egg rolls were mediocre. It was mainly vegetable with very little pork in it. So more of a vegetable egg roll. The reason why I gave it a 3-star only was because of the crispy pork belly. It was so overcooked,dry, and bland that when I took a bite, I didn't even want to eat it anymore. I'm not sure why I even took it home when it was going straight to the trash. I was so disappointed because my wife and I hadn't eaten the entire day, and I was looking so much forward to it because of the awesome reviews of the restaurant. The pork was probably one of the most expensive items on the menu as well. It wasn't even busy when we got there, and I'm just not sure how they were able to mess that up? Would I still go there? Yes, for the chicken and nothing else. Other than the food. The workers had good customer service, and the restaurant was clean, but a lot of inventory on the wall, which can be very distracting. read more

A must try when in Fresno. It is definitely one of the best places to eat Lao food. We love this place. Food is amazing. We ordered beef larb with sticky rice, fried chicken, sesame balls filled with taro, sugar cane guava juice, sugar cane passion fruit juice. Friendly staff, clean place. Their employees are nice people one time I got my order and I didn't realize one of my orders was the wrong one, luckily one of their employees came out and told before I left the let me keep pork belly for free. read more

Friendly cashier and customer service! I didn't want bean sprouts in my kua mee noodles that I didn't get a picture of and they were kind enough to be able to accommodate without it. The pork belly can be a hit or miss with some days it being cooked perfectly or some days dry but today it was cooked perfectly and still juicy. read more
My mother ordered shrimp spring rolls and chicken pho. The worker was nice and said it would be ready shortly. We went to get it. The restaurant is safe and clean. The order was ready and the worker was nice. Wished my mother well. Got everything set up. Chicken pho split. The shrimp spring roll was fantastic! Large! Great peanut sauce with it! My chicken pho half was fresh and delicious! Fresh veggies, tasty noodles and chicken cooked perfectly! My mother said hers was really great! One of the best spring rolls she has tasted! Nice and fresh! Great service and lunch! Highly recommended! read more
