The pork belly was good portion and the skin was VERY crispy, borderline a bit too hard of a crunch. The larb was full of fresh mint and herbs but medium level spice was definitely spicy for me but probably ok for others. Egg rolls were excellent and can tell freshly made with vermicelli, veggie and meat. Got mango sticky rice at the end which was delicioussssss. Pandan like coconut cream to dip / pour. Fresh Thai iced tea also good and sweet. Will come back to try the noodle soup as every table had it! We just winged it when we got here upon ordering. Service- you order at counter and then they bring to your table. One employee was not the most friendly but it is what it is. Plenty of parking. The pork belly was soooo good, crispy and flavorful. The pho broth was also good but I didn't like that they gave me a ground beef patty instead of flank steak that was advertised. The Lao sausage was very disappointing; more processed like a Chinese sausage than the more traditional Lao sausages I've had where you can see and taste all the spices inside. The chicken was delicious! The chili paste was to die for; flavorful and ends with a kick that makes your ears ring the more you eat it. The chicken and sausage rice dishes were pricy but they give A LOT of sticky rice; each tray was like 5 pounds. The bao was huge and had lots of meat; it also had a thick layer of dough which seemed like a lot but was actually good to wash down the salty meat with. We ordered the baked eggs, chicken and roasted pig plates. The flavor and oh man the crunch was so satisfying! First time visitor. Heard all about this place from friends and family but it's quite a travel (30 mins) from home to get here. More "To Go" folks versus dine in during my visit. Ordered two of the more popular dishes: Fried Pork Belly and Beef Larb. Pork Belly: One of the best pork belly dishes I've had in a long time. Crispy! The dipping sauce was a nice addition to it as well. Portions were reasonable for the price. This dish is best enjoyed if you consume it right away. Larb Beef: This dish is typically not what I usually eat on regularly but I'm sure glad that I ordered it. Tons of flavor and wasn't drowned in sauce like some places. Apparently there are 3 levels of spiciness, but since I'm not a fan of spice/hot dishes, I opted for the "no spice". Also, ddidn't want the spice to overload my taste buds. Overall, I liked this dish a lot. If this place wasn't so far, I would go here often. Probably only when I'm in the area would I stop by again. I highly recommend this place! read more

This place has such high reviews, I've tried it twice and have not been fully satisfied. Both times I've orders the pork belly. First time it was chewy and not crispy and chowmein was okay. We've been loyal customers of La's Kitchen since 2021, and it's been amazing to watch this gem thrive over the years. The owner, La, is fantastic--always funny, welcoming, and full of positive energy whenever we see her! It's also heartwarming to see her loyal staff, who are consistently friendly. We've tried over 15 items on the menu and have loved every single one! Our top six favorites are Fried Chicken with Sticky Rice, Larb Beef, Kaopiak, Pad Thai Noodles, Lummit, and Thai Iced Coffee. (Okay, maybe one more--Fried Sausage with Sticky Rice. Oh, and try the Fried Sausage and Chicken with Jel Mushroom from the fridge--it's incredible!) We make a point to visit every time we're in town or passing through on our way to Fresno. The food is always fresh, full of flavor, and worth the trip. La's Kitchen can get super busy at times, but I promise the wait is absolutely worth it. Just yesterday, we stopped by and ordered Larb Beef (raw and medium spicy), Papaya Salad (medium spicy), and Koapiak. We like to add chili sauce, jalapeños, and a little tamarind seasoning to the Koapiak--it's so flavorful! We capped off our meal with a Thai Iced Coffee, which was the perfect dessert and gave us a nice energy boost after our food coma. It's been almost a year since I've last tried this place. I didn't try what I got last time because was scared I might get the same experience last time. So this time I got some crispy pork belly which was good! Super fresh and hot. It was $13.99 and you get a lot for the portion. The skin was super crispy and the sauce they provide with it was so delicious! It tastes very much like home. Although I do have to admit it was a bit dry, could have been juicer. But this doesn't take away from the flavor. (4/5) I also got the Korean garlic cheese bread which was also tasty! Different order taking and service from any other pho restaurant. There really isn't any service, they just take your order at the register and then bring your food. Drinks and napkins are self serve. I had the Thai boat, it's a little too "herbal" and "earthy" for me. Can definitely smell and taste the herbs, very overpowering, but if you like that flavor then this is the place to go for your Thai boat. The rice was dry and sticky, it didn't seem freshly made to me. I don't think it had much flavor. The orange chicken wasn't as tender as I felt it should be, sort of hard to chew. One plate they messed up on but we kept it anyways. It's a small eating space. Tables are a little too close together. I would not recommend a large group. Plus I didn't like how they had their storage towards the back of where the seating is and also storage in the restroom. That should be in an area customers cannot see. read more

We loved LA kitchen. We chose it at random because it was near our nephew's house and we were looking for somewhere nearby to eat, but it was really good. I wish I'd taken pictures but fortunately there are already a lot of pictures of the place! It's a very casual and seemingly popular spot because it was very busy and full, with many people dining in and many people getting to-go orders. Whether you're eating there or not, you order at the counter first and pay. Then if you're staying, you sit down and they bring the food out. Servers and cashiers are all efficient and friendly. We got some papaya salad and egg rolls to share, and then for our meals, I got the meal #1, the fried chicken with sticky rice and the others with me both got orange chicken and fried rice. (I didn't try theirs but they said it was very good.) The papaya salad was delicious and crunchy -- there was plenty of it, with plenty of sauce. There were peanuts on the table which we could add. The egg rolls were great too -- fresh and crisp and good flavors. I loved the dinner #1! The fried chicken does not look like American fried chicken with a heavy coating (again, sorry I didn't get pictures but refer to the many fried chicken pictures here). It's reddish and crispy and perfectly seasoned. You get FOUR big pieces of chicken, and an ENORMOUS amount of sticky rice which is perfectly cooked . Seriously the three of us could have shared that one meal I got. I had lots of leftovers. The meal also came with a small sauce cup full of very spicy pepper sauce -- also delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming. The place is smaller than what I had expected, but luckily we were able to get a table large enough to accommodate 8 ppl. It's self-seating on a first come first serve basis. The ambiance was overall, okay. There are two doors for entering and exiting so it helps with the flow of traffic, but it doesn't help with the flies that come in. That was a bit bothersome to eat and wack the flies away. I ordered the Kopiak and chicken laab as entrees and egg rolls for appetizers. They were all great! The Kopiak is refreshing with fresh flavors from the chicken broth and added herbs. I liked how the chicken laab had an authentic bitter taste to it. The egg rolls were crispy, but a little burnt looking so you know they needed to change their oil. I just ordered the noodles chow Mein and it was almost ready when I got there. The noodles tastes freshly made. They had a great salty tasteful flavor. I really loved it. Nice people running this place. The space used to house Taste Kitchen so I was familiar with the layout. The dining area is on the smaller side. The portions of the chicken plate are very generous. The skin had that 'jerky' texture which I love! Also tried the egg rolls and they're better or rival similar places in town. They were not seeping with grease and were not cooked in old oil which is key to that fresh and crispy texture. Most of the sticky rice and chicken, sausage and pork belly is all prepacked in the warmer. The sticky rice with chicken was a huge portion, there was literally 4 chickens the chicken was good it did have a slight sweet flavor to it, jel came in the packaging. The pork belly was fresh and crunchy the sauce that came with it was green and was a bit too salty for my taste. The papaya salad was delicious I was worried it would be too spicy since I accidently ordered med instead of mild but it all worked out, there was a nice spicy kick to it but I didn't think it was too overwhelming where it wasn't enjoyable. They have a sitting area to the right as you enter. Overall, it was a good experience, customer service was great and they worked fast and handled the rush quite well and the food was good.
