Dragon roll that I received.
Jessica B.

I am beyond disappointed with both the quality of food and the customer service by the manager Alina at Kazuki sushi and I will NEVER eat here. I usually go to Sushi Dan, but thought I'd try something new that's closer by. I found Kazuki sushi on a Google search and I was instantly drawn to the photos attached. I ordered a dragon roll, the baked langostino roll, the paradise roll and the seaweed salad. When my hubby brought the food back, I couldn't believe my eyes. This was not at all what the photos looked like! The eel of the dragon roll was burned and dry and had a pile of what I assume are crumbles, but not sure why they're on a dragon roll. The baked langostino was overly baked, but also not at all warm. Weird. The paradise roll was soggy looking and not truly breaded all around. The seaweed salad was the only thing that looked decent. I took screenshots of the website photo then how it arrived (photos #1&2 are pictures of the dragon roll they advertised, then #3 is how it actually arrived, photo #4 is the picture of the baked langostino roll they advertised, #5 is how I received it, photo #6 is the paradise roll they advertised, #7 is how I received it and #8 is my receipt to prove I ordered there). Photo #9 is the amazing food (Dragon Roll, Baked langostino & seaweed salad) I ordered from Sushi Dan after my disappointing experience with Kazuki Sushi. I immediately called and asked for the manager, who answered by the name of Alina. I told her my concerns and she said that there's nothing she could do. When I told her that I'm filing a claim with my credit card and posting a Google review, she patronizingly said, "thanks for your review" and she HUNG UP ON ME! Y'all, if they completely misrepresent the food and this is the quality AND they're not even willing to make it right? Absolutely not, I would never trust eating the food because my health is important. I'm not about to get sick from not fresh, soggy sushi. Trust me when I say, this was the worst quality sushi I've ever seen. I would trust some of the ones at certain grocery stores over this. Don't risk your health! I'm throwing this food away. And I ended up just ordering from Sushi Dan, which is incomparable. And no, Sushi Dan did not ask me to write anything.

2 servings of vegetable rolls (1 serving = 5 pieces).
Tricia A.

At my work we ordered takeout here for the first time. I got 2 servings of the vegetable rolls because 1 serving only has 5 pieces. I liked the presentation and everything was fresh and tasted good. 2 of my co-workers said they didn't have a good experience, though. 1 of them ordered something with salmon and said it didn't smell right, so she played it safe and didn't eat it at all. Another got chicken katsu and although he liked the crispy breaded outside, he said the chicken inside was really dry. Since my own experience as a vegetarian was good, I'm keeping the rating high. At the same time, for those who are meat eaters, you should probably know about the not so good experiences from at least 2 customers.

Pork tonkotsu ramen soup 5 star , salmon colar 4.5 , sushi 4.5. Sushi : Loved the salmon and yellowtail belly did not love the eal as much nor the seared albacore . It was food but not extraordinary. Salmon collar took away 0.5 stars because i think the outside was just w little bit over broiled . The interior was good though.

The tiny Rosie Roll...baby pieces.

The sushi here looks like it's made for a little kid; not adult rolls. Highly disappointed in the food here. Taste was ok, but overpriced for what you get. I've never seen sushi rolls this tiny in my life! Don't waste your money....

Mango Roll

My cousin and I were both having a chill lazy day and stumbled across Kazuki. I am a very picky sushi gal, but we decided to give this place a try because it was on our way when running errands and it did not disappoint. The sushi was very fresh and melted in your mouth. I do nigiri everywhere I go, but decided to try the mango roll, since it was popular. 10/10. Perfect low key sushi spot when you are having a chill day and don't want to dress up or drive far. My favorite was the seared salmon sushi and the toro. The customer service was also great!!!

Delicious rolls. Definitely will go back. It's a gem in Van Nuys. Seen it while driving on Sherman Way. Glad we decided to try.

This place grows on you. I first came here about 2 years ago on one of our first dates with my husband . Maybe it was the butterflies in my stomach that didn't let me truly appreciate all that this place had to offer. The more I ordere from here I love it more and more as I live down the street and the high quality of the sushi gets me everytime. I usually get the Chirashi, Amaebi, and J Special Roll as my usual but we always order more because they have so many things they have to offer. So we also tried the following: Half & Half Roll Arminry Roll Hollywood Roll Ano Roll The food was overall superb and we're a regular here.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

Long story short, our dining experience felt rushed. We waited about 45 min- an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we were pushed to order right away. I had come here before but it was my husband's first time dining. He needed more time to decide and look over the menu. Well he didn't get much of a chance to look at what he wanted to eat because the server was standing there waiting. Literally staring. What would you like to order? I explained to her that it was his first time here and he needed time to look over the menu and asked her if she can come back later. She proceeded to say it will take longer to get our orders in and delay the kitchen staff. That didn't end there. Right after our food was served, one of the servers came by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We said no. Shortly after, the server dropped the bill at our desk. Mind you, we were not even close to finishing our meal. I understand there are other customers waiting for a table but you shouldn't be rushing the customers currently eating. They clearly prioritize turning tables faster to make profit. It was not a pleasant or enjoyable dining experience. I would choose another sushi spot.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. I find that a lot of the criticism levied against Tokyo Haus expects a restaurant that caters to all types of customers. I find that restaurants are like works of art in that art that tries to appeal to everyone won't appeal to anyone. I think Tokyo Haus's excellence will always be found in the AYCE option. That's what makes it a great restaurant. Becoming a regular here has been a delight, especially after finding our favorite items and sections of the menu. The service was unremarkable at first, but with some geniality and consideration, the servers will open up to you and take care of you. Over the past year or so, we've come to appreciate Alex, who always makes sure our meals are delicious. The restaurant itself is temperate and not too loud with plenty of space between tables/booths. The music playing is not too loud and allows for conversation to flow. They upgraded their ordering system to a tablet-based system a while ago, which has greatly streamlined the ordering process. If you're looking for recommendations on what to order, I highly recommend trying one of the AYCE options and ordering the lemon pepper salmon nigiri (I order at least 50 pieces of it every time!). My only minor complaint is that the pace of service was extremely fast. The sushi came out so quickly that I felt a little rushed through the meal. It's certainly better than waiting forever for food, but I would have appreciated a bit more time to relax and enjoy each round before the next dishes arrived. Overall, the food was excellent and I'd gladly return. If you're looking for fresh, high-quality sushi and don't mind ordering everything à la carte, this place is definitely worth a visit.
