We really enjoy the coffee from this shop and have been here multiple times, but unfortunately, the customer service has consistently been disappointing. Every time we visit, the baristas taking our order seem to have an attitude and come across as unfriendly. It's honestly confusing because we always make an effort to be polite and respectful, yet we're repeatedly met with poor customer service. It really takes away from the experience and makes us hesitant to come back, despite genuinely enjoying the coffee. Please remind your staff of the importance of being friendly and polite with customers. We understand everyone has bad days, but this has been a consistent experience for us, and we hope it can be addressed. read more

Excellent latte and a decent cookie. The pumpkin spice latte was really good and the right temperature upon serving. The cookie was a bit underwhelming, was too hard and not the preferred texture (perhaps a day two old?) Would go back for their coffee. read more

I dropped by this gorgeous, local coffee spot on a walkable, 'slow street' and it was amazing. I was greater and served by a friendly barista who helped me navigate and guide me to some of the local favorites on the menu. The unique space has really cool, collectible props,, like a jukebox and candy machine. They offer an extensive array of exotic, delicious pastries and treats that I never had elsewhere! This is a cute little corner coffee place in Noe Valley that is off the beaten path of busy 24th street. It feels like a true neighborhood joint. I come specifically for the Apple Jax Latte in the fall. The blend of apple and cinnamon flavors with their regular warm-toned orange mugs is perfect for a fall beverage. I like it because it's not too sweet which makes it a great alternative to pumpkin spiced lattes which at a lot of places can be overly sweet. They have a menu on the wall of an assortment of pastries from Neighbors Bakehouse but they either don't stock all of them daily or run out early in the day which is weird, but the assortment looks delicious. Bland iced matcha latte. At least it's always cold just like the customer service. I visit La Lucha out of convenience and most of the time, my Iced Matcha Latte w/ oat milk ($7) tastes like iced milk. Tho, on two occasions, it was on-point (you can taste the earthy, vegetal bitterness) so it really depends on who makes it. When I try to engage in pleasantries with the staff, I get blank stares from the cashier or a glare from the barista. And to top they carry Neighborhood Baker pastries including the spectacular 2x baked raspberry pistachio croissant. The orange cups for in house drinking just happen to be l perfect for these months. Was super excited to try this place. I went in and tried to order a croissant. Turns out they were out of almost everything on the menu, and were even out of bagels. Decided to try their chai, but it tasted like pure ginger tea, none of the other chai spices. Service was good, the cashier tried to offer recommendations in their super limited menu. First impression wasn't great, so likely won't go back. But it was packed with laptopers so might be decent when not sold out of everything. read more

There is plenty of workspace if you're looking for a quiet office outside of home along with free WiFi. The only complaint is that the drinks are awfully small. For almost $6 I was hoping for something closer to 16 oz but the drinks were definitely smaller than that. All around a solid cafe that serves up modest cups of coffee. read more

Delicious coffee! Had a macchiato with oat milk and it was strong, just the way I like it. Note: it's a tiny, adorable cup, which is a true macchiato. Friend wanted an iced oat milk latte, but they didn't have ice, so they served her a chilled latte. Took it home to add ice, and she said it was delicious. read more

This coffee shop is awesome. Cool menu, cool staff, cool ambiance. I've been coming here every time I'm in Noe Valley. The baristas are knowledgeable about there coffee and flavor profiles. I had great service from Aaron and Bella. I sometimes work from here and it's a nice shop that's bright and peaceful enough to get work done. The pastries all burst with flavor, I recommend the curry pastry or their Ube cookie. As for coffee my summer order has been there orange vanilla latte, with extra syrup since I have a sweet tooth. Found this spot while walking my pup after a play date at the upper noe dog park. I saw several dogs inside with their people but as it was sunny we sat outside and enjoyed the weather. The street it's on is closed off to traffic so it was nice and quiet sitting in the sidewalk chairs. Got an ice coffee with cream, delicious. read more

I usually go for a walk with my wife and son to Sanchez St. and we always stopped by there for a good strong Cortado or a slow dripped coffee (black). I like the inside too. Great name for a coffee joint, makes me feel like a Luchador after drinking a strong one there. read more

Such a nice (re) addition to the block and Sanchez in general -- the space is inviting, spacious and soothing. 2 chairs outside if you want to soak the sun while sipping on SightGlass beans. Would be great to get additional outdoor seating down the road. Coffee serves the purpose but it's hard to have to be compared against the long standing Noe Valley coffee place a few blocks up Sanchez (their coffee is spot on taste wise). I'm pretty sure La Lucha has its chances of creating its own little vibe, very much looking forward to what that place can offer and has under the hood. read more

Cute place and I appreciate the gluten free options, like the quiche. Coffee is decent. It's not weak or moldy tasting like others have said. That said, every time I come in there are no seats due to people using the space as free office space with their laptops. I find that such a rude San Francisco transplant phenomenon. I mentioned it to staff and she said theres nothing she can do. Well actually woman there are things you can do to control the office space users. Cafes do it all the time! read more

Highly recommend checking out this lovely space if you're in the Glen Park/Noe Valley area! They haven't been open for very long but they already make my favorite oat milk latte in the city. I'm pretty surprised by a few of the other reviews mentioning less than friendly service...my husband and I are definitely *not* the most chatty people but we both have felt very welcomed by all the staff and the baristas so far. My only suggestion would be for them to offer more gluten-free pastry options :) otherwise, we think La Lucha is a wonderful addition to our neighborhood! read more

Giving 3 stars though: Wish they had more food - and what neighborhood coffee shop closes at 3 pm? ! There are 2 schools nearby and they're closed by the time we pick up the kids. So head over to my other neighborhood fave, XO Cafe just a few blocks away, if you get there past closing time as they stay open! read more

Just checked out La Lucha for the first time and loved it! The staff was so friendly and helpful, really helping me find a drink when I was indecisive. The oat milk dirty chai latte was delicious (not super sweet but that's how I like it) and had beautiful latte art. And they let me use a reusable cup. Will definitely be back! read more

Amazing service, great coffee!! I asked for a drip, and they just ran out, so I got a taster/espresso cup of the last of the coffee pot while I waited (a short 4 minutes) for a fresh brew. Really disappointing place. In a neighborhood full of friendly families, and in sharp.contrast to the friendly staff at Noe Cafe a few blocks down, La Lucha is staffed by mostly sullen hipsters. The coffee is pretty good, but the decor is spartan/nonexistent, sitting inside is deafening because of all the hard surfaces, and there is very little outside seating. This could be such a great place, but the owners just don't seem to want to be a warm, friendly, welcoming part of the neighborhood. read more

The drinks are really good but the service isn't that pleasant, which is easy enough to ignore most of the time. But today' experience made me regret giving a tip or having gone in there at all. I ordered a couple drinks but couldn't remember if I specified I want them to go. So my boyfriend went up and said, sorry I just wanted to make sure I asked for them to-go. Good coffee and treats. Nice sunny corner. Very dog friendly. I just wish their wifi were more reliable. Sometimes I need to get out of the house to work and it's become this 50/50 thing if the wifi will be working or not. I know they aren't here to be an office for people and their laptops but what's the point of being a neighborhood cafe that offers wifi if it's completely undependable? Doesn't seem that hard to fix. It's annoying to spend $$ on the fancy coffee and then realize you have to go buy another coffee somewhere else that actually has functioning wifi. read more
