love this coffee shop to chill and especially to work at! plenty of tables and seating, charging outlets, free wifi, and a bathroom are all available, plus it's open late. service is super friendly - they make you feel completely at home here. they also have a tv and play sports games sometimes so you could come hang and watch a game there! they seem to serve a huge variety of drinks, including traditional middle eastern tea or coffee as well as specialty espresso and matcha beverages with lots of flavor options. they also serve sweets like baklava, cheesecakes, and milk cakes, in addition to savory bites like meat/cheese pies. i like that they kind of have something for every craving! i was super impressed by their drinks and food. as someone who is picky about iced lattes, their iced latte ratio is on point. i only tried the coffee so i can't speak to the matcha, but my friend and i really enjoyed the spanish latte and the date latte. they have a large selection of milks including soy, which is always nice. for food, we got their spicy chicken pie. the dough was really fresh & soft with a slight chew and the chicken was so flavorful (and honestly pretty spicy). overall i have nothing bad to say about this place! i think it's an awesome place to get work done or chill with friends. i'll probably be back at some point to try their sweet pastries and assortment of other drinks. read more

My friend recommended this cafe in the Mission and we decided to give it a try. They have a large menu of drinks, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and baked goods. A coffee spot that's open late night in The Mission? Count me in! It's a nice space if you need a quiet spot to get some work done or just read a book. Free Wi-Fi that's fast enough for most stuff you're working on with your laptop. Ample amount of seating inside and some outdoor seating too. Friendly folks working the counter and I love getting the fresher drinks here. I do see some game boards here too so you can do that too. Walking by I was drawn in by the Arabic coffee decided to go for it. I ordered a single Arabic coffee no sugar that's how they remembered me in Egypt everyone uses sugar. It came in a beautiful pot in a copper tray . The server also gave me a taste a cup of their house special the Finjan Qahwa. They were both good the atmosphere is friendly they are set up to watch FIFA games also. They offer many coffees and teas . They have an array of Turkish delights along with some baklava cheese cake and a tiramisu among other offerings. They guys are friendly and welcoming. It was a nice surprise as I was walking down mission street. They had the most delicious baklava I have ever had . I have had grandmas baklava. Spent years in Egypt with all the temptations of sweets but this was fantastic so delicious. I would like a whole pie it was a walnut baklava. I had not strolled on this stretch of Mission in a while, so I was pleasantly surprised to see someone had taken over the space that Tierra Mia used to own. In a prime location where Valencia meets Mission is a new Arabic cafe that serves authentic Yemeni and Turkish coffee and pastries. There were ornate decorative touches (Photo 8) and resplendent displays of exotic delicacies. The combined effect evoked aura of a Middle Eastern market bazaar. It reminded me of my long ago travels to Jamaa El-Fna in Marrakesh and the Spice Market in Istanbul. That's quite a feat for a Bernal Heights bakery cafe. Because I had not planned on having a mid-afternoon snack. I ordered modestly with the intention of coming back when I had more calories. I had the $4.95 Cold Brew (Iced Coffee), which the server mixed with just the right amount of milk and sugar (Photo 9). It was just the refresher I needed. I knew I had to have at least the taste of something sweet, and the first thing that caught my eye was the $1.99 Chocolate Baklava (Photo 10). That was the perfect mouthful of sweet indulgence. So many of the other desserts looked as alluring - the Pistachio Dream Cake (Photo 5), the Lemon Cheesecake (Photo 6), the Dubai Cake, the Kataifi. I'll have to increase my cardio exercise exponentially to justify such tasty-looking decadence. I saw that this new bakery and coffee shop just opened so I stopped in here on the way home from work. The coffee shop is super spacious so it's perfect if you want to hang out or do a little work. They have multiple display cases of pastries, baklava, and cakes. It's was so hard to just choose two items to take home. I definitely will be back to try more. I ended up getting the pistachio milk cake. The cake is super moist and flavorful. It wasn't super sweet. And the pistachio was perfect on it. The Dubai chocolate cake was something I've never had before. It was chocolate cake with a pistachio coconut flake filling and topped with hard chocolate on top. The flavor was really good. But since I'm not a fan of dried coconut I preferred the milk cake. Just preference. I loved this place and I definitely will be back to try their baklavas, other cakes, and drinks. I've been wanting to try this place since it recently opened. It's in the former Tierra Mia space (RIP). And if you are as old and as local as I am, this used to be the taco bell in front of the BK. I got done with my run and just went for it. Got the go-to, iced latte with oat. And since they have a very nice looking pasty cooler, I tried the nutella cheesecake (so much for my run). The staff is friendly and service was fast. The menu has several specialty items, which I have tried at other places and have been pleased. Also, the menu is pretty extensive. An absolute gem of a spot! I recently visited on a short business trip out here in San Francisco and wanted to try some of the local pastry/coffee shops. The ambience at Finjan Qahwa was super chill and quaint. I was ordering to-go from my favorite pupusa restaurant los panchos and was looking up coffee shops so I could get a latte for my hour long drive home. I asked which desserts were favorites and the staff was quick to explain the favorites and specialties that I was eyeing in the case. For the dessert options I ordered the baklava cheesecake and pistachio crème cake which I could not decide between so I just got both... YOLO!! Partner and I were in the neighborhood waiting for a pick-up order and had time to kill, and the wind was chilly so when we walked past this place on Mission St, decided to head in. I'd never heard of Finjan coffee before, I've only been to one Arabic coffee shop in Oakland once and I didn't really get to enjoy it due to time constraints. I was very excited to see the offerings this place has- the menu for coffee, tea, drinks, and pastries is plentiful! I ordered a rose latte, partner got the Finjan latte, iced. We also got a beef pie to share. First off, presentation- my latte was in a clear glass mug with foam art, my partner's coffee in a to-go cup because that's the only way they can currently serve a Large (20oz). I was not expecting this, and though I ordered a "Medium", my latte was plenty! The beef pie came on a paper plate, but this didn't matter to me- it was a little greasy so the plate soaked some of that up. They sliced it into sections so it could easily be shared- and boy it was tasty! I was worried that the bread would be heavy and the meat would be little- I was pleasantly surprised that the pastry shell, while a nice thickness, was still light, with the perfect proportions of meat filling. It was plenty flavorful, without being too overwhelming. A perfect savory snack. My latte was delicious- not too sweet, creamy, very well made. Partner said that his Finjan coffee started off with a nice sweetness, then upon stirring it a bit got a kick of the spices which balanced it all out. I will say the drinks are on the pricier side here, but the quality is excellent- I do not mind spending more for a well-made drink, especially if it supports a small business like this. The atmosphere is very casual, they have Arabic music playing, a mural on one corner, large pictures detailing what they offer and why it's the best. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly, answer any questions you have about the menu, especially if you're not familiar with this type of cuisine. We felt very welcome and comfortable here. Also, they're open late everyday?! Find me another coffee shop in SF open til 10pm, bc I don't think I've seen one anywhere except in San Jose! I'm very excited that we have an Arabic coffee shop around, it's not something I've come across besides the one in Oakland, so it's great that we have this in the city! I immediately texted my mother-in-law about this place, in the hopes that we can come another time when we don't have somewhere to be at a specific time. I really would enjoy just being here. Stumbled upon this new café on Mission St and I'm so glad I did! They opened earlier this year and are already doing everything right. I tried the Horchata Latte and the Finjan Latte--both were excellent and highly recommended. I also had a warmed-up beef pie that was so good I'm still craving it. The staff was super friendly, service was quick, and the quality of everything was top-notch. I loved that the beans are ground fresh right in front of you. The vibe is perfect--quiet enough to get some work or studying done, but with just enough background noise that you're not stuck hearing someone chew next to you. I am SO excited that this place opened up in the neighborhood. I saw their grand opening sign and balloons yesterday and decided to check it out and I'm really glad I did. The staff there are very welcoming and you can tell they are excited about this new venture. The space itself is a good size with plenty of seating, and they had a lot of choices in terms of different types of lattes, chai and other drinks. They have various pastries such as a few types of baklava, a few varieties of milk cake and cheese cakes to name a few plus a delicious looking pistachio cake. Their staff they are gonna be adding more deli-style sandwiches to the menu and there are even more treats than what they had today. I wish I took more pictures but they are definitely not your average cafe treats in SF so HUGE plus. As an Iranian Armenian, I am so excited to have a place nearby with fresh baklava!! I had a pistachio oat milk latte and my girlfriend had an rose oat milk latte--both very tasty. The baklava was fresh and full of pistachios and the textures were spot on. I'm not usually a cheesecake person but the lotus cheesecake looked amazing and I'm not kidding when I saw this is the best cheesecake I've ever had. It's light and airy while still tasting rich and they gave me a huge piece so I can't wait to finish it later. Glad to see how many people strolled in to check out the place while we were there. I ordered these disgusting beef and chicken pastries which were dry, hard, and cold. Threw all of them out. The service sucked. I ordered online and the guy didn't even realize there was an online order. The honey pastry with cream cheese was stale and gross.
