You grab a menu, order & pay at the counter and they bring you your food once its ready. My son and I shared the Strawberries Romanoff Cinnamon Bun French Toast. It jumped out at us off the menu and we had to have it. It wasn't as pictured though. They didn't have the cinnamon roll croissant. It was on a different bread, they told us when we ordered it. It has been at least 10 years since I went to a La Madeleine restaurant . We used to frequent it regularly when our kids were in living at home. I wish the ham was a little thicker on the ham and cheese croissant We also ordered some tarts the mixed fruit, chocolate and lemon and a Sachertorte The crust is shortbread like and delicious, I liked the lemon but wish it was a little more lemony. I've been here a few times and I do enjoy coming here. The ambiance is so different than anywhere else so it's a nice change of pace. My most recent visit I got a half croque monsieur sandwich which is served hot. It's thin sliced ham, gruyere cheese and then it's toasted. On top however is a delicious creamy garlic sauce that is somehow toasted (see pic). It is delicious! I got it with a side of pasta salad which was really not flavorful. It's the second time getting the pasta salad and both time I wasn't impressed. I also got a cup of French onion soup to have later and it was really good. La Madeline is absolutely DIVINE! As one reviewer (and bf) put it, La Madeline is like an upscale Panera/Wildflower. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I opted for the cafe sampler with the half chicken friand, country potato soup, and strawberry bacon spinach. Bf ordered the croque madame. The chicken friand is a chicken puff pastry; flaky and delicious! It came with a side of mushroom gravy. The country potato soup was cheesy and bacony; how can you go wrong?! The strawberry bacon spinach had feta cheese and pecans that added nice texture. Bf's croque madame came with a fried egg on top with a side of wild field and balsamic. It was very filling! The real stars of the show though are the pastries!! ESPECIALLY THE CARAMEL CRÈME BRÛLÉE. YOU NEEEEED IT. So rich and creamy, absolutely indulgent!! Look at the presentation of the fruit tart!! So aesthetic and fresh! A side note, the crème is more custard/pudding like than with usual fruit tarts; not a bad thing, just depends on your preference! The sacher torte is rich and chocolately; it also has cherries on the bottom! We still have a lemon tart and cookie to review but it is safe to say that we will ABSOLUTELY be back!! read more

This was a bit of a treat! I fell in love with La Madeline- it is hard to go wrong here. The menu isn't extremely extensive but they take great time & care into their offerings. Each item is photo-worthy presentable & tastes just as good. The potato soup was wonderful. Not too thick but perfect amount of ingredients to hit the spot without making you feel bloated. I appreciated the toppings on the side so it was like being served fresh though this was a delivery order. The croissant on the side was plenty in size & absolutely perfect in consistency: light, flaky & slightly buttery flavor. Paired very well with the soup. The quiche is an individual serving size, but with the soup I split it in half & saved the remainder for breakfast. And it was also to perfection! Generous amount of spinach & key ingredients, fluffy & nice golden crust. It had very good flavor & was one of the better I've had. The price point is a little high for the quantity, but the quality makes that justified. The desserts here are just a level above everyone else. The tarts are to die for! I first ordered the mini & realized why they offer a full size... you want the full size! Can't beat that cute, chocolate swirl straw that embellishes. Not too rich but still filling & melt-in-your-mouth consistency. I also had to try the almond croissant. And while the croissant itself was great- that light, fluffy & buttery consistency of the regular- the almond flavor was a bit weak. There is almond paste included in this, but not enough. The slivers on top were a nice embellishment but it just didn't give a whole lot of almond flavor overall. Good, but not good enough to crave another. Overall, I love the food & presentation here. Great sandwiches, fab salads and, they have an excellent Tomato Basil Soup and one of the better Croque Monsieur Sandwiches with Smoked French ham Swiss with garlic cream sauce on Country bread in the valley. Being National, usually makes a joint less attractive, and lose a bit of its prestige, but at least this location holds it own with really good bakery products. This is a fun spot within walking distance of where we are staying so we decided to try it out one morning for a breakfast. They have great coffees as well as a huge selection of pastries. I'm told their omelettes and Kish are also amazing but we didn't try any of those this time. They have a deal as well that you can purchase six croissants of the same sort for a discounted price. We chose the chocolate croissants and were not disappointed! The restaurant seemed friendly clean and quite busy so I'm sure everything they offer is delicious. I was hungry for lunch and decided to give this place a shot. I ordered their madame croque sandwich. It's ham and Swiss cheese grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. I have to say I am not a huge fan of grilled cheese but this sandwich was very good with a nice taste. I also ordered their new white bean soup and it was not good. One of the spices they out in there they over did it so I switched it out for their country potato soup. The country potato was a lot better than the white bean soup. It's not the usual thicker style soup it was more of chunky potato thinner soup. Not potato pieces but blended potato. The flavor was average not my favorite potato soup but good enough. I enjoyed meals and tasty sweets this week while working in the Chandler area. Service always starts up front and the ladies up front smiled and thanked me for dining with them. Customers have many choices in the area and friendly service is key. Also, the food is really good and hot. I had the salmon meal and chicken with mushrooms and will order them both again. I came here twice as it was right in front of the hotel I was staying it. It's very beautiful and clean on the inside. All of the employees were fantastic. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese croissant for myself and 2 sausage patties, scrambled eggs & bacon for my son. The food was very good and so was the iced latte I ordered. My friend and I stopped at La Madeleine to pick up some dessert. We saw it as we were driving by and I immediately looked it up on Yelp. Seeing that it had good reviews, we decided to try it. We chose a variety of individual dessert pieces. Got a couple of fruit tarts, eclairs, chocolate cake, & Napoleons. The presentation of everything looked very inviting. I also saw that they had some quiche, soups & salads to choose from. While we were paying, I noticed their menu and looked through it real quick. They have an all day breakfast and have some of the famous French staples such as the onion soup and croque monsieur. When we tried the desserts, everything was pretty good with the fruit tart being the best. I honestly did not like the super sweet glaze on top of the napoleon, same with the eclairs; the chocolate on top was not my favorite. The fillings were pretty good, but I noticed they used the same filling for all 3 desserts (tart, Napoleon and eclairs) so they made me feel like I was almost eating the same thing 3 times (disclaimer: we cut them into smaller pieces to share them with my husband and hers, I can't eat 3 at one go!). I didn't try the chocolate cake so not sure how good it was. This place looks like it has good potential. Their dining area is nice and is pretty big. I see myself trying their food next time. I stopped by on a Friday evening around 7:15. There was one person at the front register, who looked up at me and told me it would be "at least four minutes" before she could take my order. Ok, fine. I looked at the menu, perused the desserts and observed. She was frustrated because an order had come in and she didn't know what to do because they were out of something that was ordered. I thought to myself, where is everyone else who works here. Voila, another person came out of the restroom. She helped her, saw me standing there but said nothing and went back to the restroom. Apparently she was cleaning. While I was waiting to order, a DoorDash delivery person came in and the employee busily got that order together. The other employee came out of the restroom, walked past me and began to sweep the dining area. Now, if it was 8:30 and they closed at 9:00, I would understand but it was 7:25 at this point. DoorDash left and it was finally my turn. I ordered a half quiche and half Caesar w/chicken and a danish for tomorrow. I had a reward to use, so I asked how to do that and was told just scan. So I did and she gave me the same total as before. I replied with my reward was for $5 off an order of $15 or more. She explained that my order was $14 and some change. I was going to ask for a lemon Madeline to bump it up but she walked away saying, push one of the white buttons and then insert your card. Got home (I live 20 miles from this particular store) with no chicken for my salad. Devastating tbh. Food was still tasty. The main issue was the disconnect between ordering food and paying for food. When ordering we were told that some items weren't available but then the items were brought to the table after they told us to order something else instead. Which caused them to make additional dishes and provide the extra food to us free of charge. There were also duplicate items made and they brought out double portions of the same dishes. The last issue was the fact that a few of us ordered our dishes first but we were served way after the last people in our party got their dishes. We waited about 20 minutes additional for a sandwich and salad to come out after everyone had already been served. The restaurant itself was clean and visually appealing. The staff were nice and courteous. I will return to dine however, it may be best to call the order ahead for lunch. read more

Stopped by this place as it was recommended by a friend, it was a delight!! The decor is cute and cozy, the staff are friendly, and the kitchen is an open concept to watch the chefs if you please.
