Do not shop here, I got food poisoning after eating a semi melted fudge pop which I didn't even know was possible. I was impressed at first given the variety of international foods and the low prices of the produce, but the quality is very hit and miss and if you miss you can get seriously ill. I saw a beet completely rotting sitting in the produce aisle, shrimp being sold that was semi defrosted with no cover on the coolers, and popsicles that were melted, when I got my mangoes home one was already rotted and the others rotted in a few days. All of these are opportunities to spread bacteria, mold and other contaminants that will send you right to the doctor. Please be safe, it's serious f**ked up they are selling these items to immigrant communities, the prices aren't rock bottom, and some shopping here may not easily be able to access medical care if needed (I'm sure many can, but statistically immigrant communities struggle to gain equitable access to healthcare on par with other Americans). read more

ICE entered La Mart last week to find and deport illegal immigrants , as of Trump's new laws.

They sell ROTTEN mangoes and refused to accept for return or exchange. I bought perfectly looking mangoes on a Saturday and opened them Monday, and found out they were rotten. When I tried to return/ exchange them on the same day that I found out that they were rotten- They refused to accept them and told me It's only eligible for return a day after purchase. SOOOO FRUSTRATING. Never again will I buy from this store!!!! read more

Just realized that this place was open and gave it a 4 star for convenience for location. This place has all of your asian spices and sauces. Half of the store had Latino products but today I just focused on the asian products. There was a good mix between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese products. Lots of noodles, and a decent produce section. There was also a good selection of some asian cookware items. Prices are on the high side, but it is in the Oakland Mills village center, so much easier than going to route 40 for the larger chains. It was in and out with quick check- out. read more

This is a great grocery store to have in the neighborhood. They offer a great selection of Asian and Hispanic products. My last trip here I bought products from Peru, El Salvador, Mexico and Korea. I deducted one star because the produce department had few veggies that didn't look too fresh. read more

This store seems to have a lot of problems. The biggest problem I have observed is that they do not charge you the posted price whether it is the price for the item listed on the shelf, in the case of produce or the price listed on their posted ad at the front of the store on meats. Cleanliness is not great in this store. If you walk in, you will see first thing that the floor in the produce area looks very dingy. This feeling of dinginess carries on through out the store's aisles. You can not bring recyclable bags to this store as they have a security guard that will give you a ton of crap about it. This store is in Columbia, Maryland, not the worst parts of Baltimore. Why do they need a security guard to go through everyone's purchases? read more

Don't buy food from here I brought duck eggs and they were 2 months prior expire I also purchased salmon and hake fish it had a odor I thought maybe it was just fish smell unknown to me the fish was already expired the next day from the day I purchased it The fat Chinese guy said to have my receipt and he would return it and lied and clearly I pointed out the date and the day I purchased it He wouldn't exchange it I told him that I would report him to the local health department he said Good they already know me Wow I said to myself I couldn't believe the nerve of this guy He is always so unprofessional The fat Chinese guy also yell out what he thought was my balance on my card and was loud and wrong and come to find out he made a mistake from his end but to yell out someone balance is so unprofessional They need to fire him but I think he's lated to the owner even tho he said he was the owner when I was trying to report hum to his boss about him yelling out my balance I will constantly call the health department on them because if you are loyal customer you shouldn't have to have experienced that type of behavior dealing with the public I'm still appalled by the day Chinese guy saying that the local health department knows him already so they know they are selling bad food and ain't doing nothing about it is crazy and for him to throw it up in my face is really absurd he has balls and LA Mart is going to get what they are asking for if someone becomes sick btw my coconuts didn't have anything in them a waste of money read more

I am very disturbed at the attitude of the FAT CHUNKY ASIAN guy (MANAGER) who insulted me when I merely was inquiring about product availability. I asked him why he was staring offensively /aggressively and not responding and he said "cuz I don't have anything nice to say to you". It was a professional and respectable interaction from my end. I was so shocked as he kept staring at me aggressively. I only asked why the guys in the meat department said there was no (meat) and when I asked for 20lbs they brought out the meat and it appears it was 10 lbs labeled as 20lbs. I asked for it to be re-weighed and he became offensive. The fact is the men in the meat department (Illegal immigrants using papers of other residents) always asking for my number and I told 2/5 I was married. They take turns...I only want to make my purchase, I don't need favors. On the said day, the one asked me when he will get my number...I have taken my husband there on numerous occasions. The ASIAN CHUNKY guy does not respect customers. He is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAl, and DISRESPECTFUL. I am looking for another place in my neighborhood to shop. This CHUNKY MANAGER needs training on diversity. Please ask the men in the meat department to stop fraternizing with patrons, use their own immigrant documents for employment, and stop trying to get with the customers to get them married to stay in the USA. I reported this manager to the Better Business Bureau and Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS! BE PROFESSIONAL!!! read more

I am a teenager who enters in this store after school with my friends the workers always follows us around the store even though none of us have ever stolen, one day we entered the store and as usual one of the workers were following us and when we were at the dairy area the worker went up to my friend and the worker asked him what's in his pants (my friend is a minor) we were all shocked at the fact that this man/worker asked to look inside my friends pants to make sure he wasn't stealing,I don't recommend going to this place at all,some of the food they sell are stale and the workers are super racist, as well the items in this store are very overpriced read more

I've been shopping here for over a year. Spent so much money there, but their customer service is terrible. Their prices are really but I still shop there I buy the fish which is expensive . There was a price next to an item that said it was on special and on salel when I went up to the cashier she showed the managers/ owners they said opps oh well. They have really good prices. Better than every american supermarket on fruits and vegetables. Some things are so much cheaper you wonder if they were mislabeled. There is a lot of riff raff in this village center area so I don't really blame them for being vigilant. Not to mention the sense of entitlement with a lot of people these days is being exposed more often with being forced to wear masks. I tend to give businesses the benefit of the doubt because they have to enforce rules and some people just cant ever seem to cooperate. This place is racist first of all, I brought some cream spice from them 2 weeks ago very disappointed it was expired!! Came to buy different one didn't see them in the isle I got it from I ranned around asking everybody where can I find this item they all act like you are bothering them and annoying them. They also always act like they don't speak English. They just kept saying "NO WE DONT HAVE "! Eventually I found it on my own in isle 15 what a disgrace. They don't care about customers at all they just want you out there face so they can continue to sell you old food. Oh yeah I brought lemons to. They were rotten.
