I've eaten here many times and every time is a great experience with delicious food and awesome service. You can't go wrong with any of their pastas, and I highly recommend trying a special. I had stuffed eggplant blooms on special years ago and I still think about them! Tons of wine options. Perfect place for a nice evening out, especially if you're celebrating.

Been a while since I was here with friends. I found quite a difference. The pear drink was bad, more lemon and very bitter. Asked for simple syrup ( there was no sugar on the rim) that didn't help but waiter did take it off the bill.thank you for that. He was nice and helpful. The menu is pretty fancy foods, such as rabbit, probably authentic to the point of being above board. The squash flowers were kind of blah. I ordered fettuccine with meat sauce. It had an odd flavor, maybe a wine additive. The rest of the menu was either not to my taste or overly priced. This is my personal experience, you may enjoy. Obviously many people do.

The restaurant is very cozy and the table lights are amazing! However, the acoustics in the upstairs dinning room are not ideal. It was very loud. The service was good, but it was very hard to communicate and hear the specials because it was so loud. The food is why I am giving a 2/5. For the price of the food it was severely lacking. The fried zucchini was good, but bland. My partner got a seafood special and the pasta had no flavor and was well past al dente, borderline crunchy. My pasta dish was flavorful but again, the pasta was unimpressive. It was recommend that I try the chocolate flourless desert, but it was inedible. They were nice enough to comp the desert. The capri spritz really saved the meal and the margarita was Devine. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, for the price tag that accompanies this experience, I was not return.

The duck orange was the BEST dish. The orange and tart cherry sauce was a great compliment to the meat. I can't remember the last time i had brussell sprouts this good. The lobster tagliolini was a mess - the pasta was overcooked and turned into a congealed mess while eating even though there was a generous amount of lobster meat. The sauce was bland. Presentation was beautiful. The bolognese was perfect. We sat upstairs - very loud, bad acoustics but romantic. Service was great, even though our app order was forgotten - dinner portions are huge!

A charming visit to 'Italia' in this sweet little town. Delicious food. Bustling on a Friday night and I highly recommend a visit. Get here early though!

Truffles - will they notice if I just take one home?

The pasta e fagioli soup was delicious and tasted as it should. We savoured it. Our salad tasted garden fresh. I asked for a basic spaghetti with meatballs. Delicious. Their meatballs meet my approval. And that is saying a lot because usually no restaurant meatballs measure up. Except for the meatballs my Grandmother, Mother and I have cooked. This is why I'm tentative about eating Italian out since we grew up making it, ourselves. Everything we tried here falls under the "did not disappoint," category which is an A all around. Even the rustic dining style with sentimental interior home furnishings and decorations. All of it speaks to the heart. They are a warm bunch and will talk to those just passing through. When I'm traveling the Eastern seaboard, I will make it a point to dine at Viola Cucina.

Mostly Smoke and mirrors.... At first glance, their website…read morelooks impressive, their menu looks authentic, and their staff promised 'everything' made fresh and to order. But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~
