For starters, my table had the calamari which was really really good and the tuna tartare which I wasn't really a fan of. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We sat upstairs. There is not a lot of seating, but we were there early enough and had a really good table upstairs . There is some seating downstairs with a bar as well. Thank you fellow Yelpers to letting me know about the parking lot off of Fiore street! Otherwise, it's such a sketch area so you'll feel great knowing your car is in this very enclosed (and super tight) parking lot. I went on a Thursday evening and it was not busy at all. We chose to sit outside on the patio, which was mostly fine. There were a few pesky flies and lots of sirens, but it wasn't a terrible experience out there. I ordered a lemon cheesecake martini, which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! I later ordered the chocolate covered strawberry martini which was also very good. I think these are seasonal, so get it while it lasts! Oh, and I tried a sip of the espresso martini and I thought it was great, and usually I don't like those. For food, I ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza. Wow! When they brought it out we were shocked, it was huge! And it was a deep dish pizza, which was a pleasant surprise. It was delicious. A lot of menu options sounded great though. Afterward, we wanted to check out their speakeasy but it was closed. I'm assuming that's a weekend feature. We sat at the bar instead, and the nighttime ambiance and inside decor was trendy and pleasant. They also had one bathroom (at least that I saw) which was also well decorated and clean. We came here on a Saturday night around 5pm for drinks and appetizers and it wasn't too busy yet. We ordered guacamole and chips, calamari, and wings! For drinks my husband ordered a pumpkin spice drink and I ordered a mocktail. Food was great and portions were huge! Also, The menu we saw in person is different from the one online, there were more choices! The only downside of our wonderful meal was the slow service. Our waitress was great, but dinner was 2 hours long because it took 30 minutes just to put our food order in. The few negatives were menu items not being available, the server not knowing what was in a dish or that his shadow employee was chomping on bubble gum (that was really distracting), and it took reminding to get out "table bread". New chef in the kitchen who added fun stuff to the apps...servers should know the menu better and relax! Next time I will come for brunch and ask to look at the speak easy. White with black and warm lighting. When we went inside we were greeted and the hostess randomly went away then re greeted. Then seated upstairs. Not that big of a spot. We were at first put at a table with no lighting and had the ac blowing right on it. I instantly asked to be moved. Once we were our waiter greeted us. He was very attentive. We split the tuna tartare it was very good just wished they mixed the tuna and everything a little more. But very flavorful and fresh! I love anything with cilantro! I wasn't terribly hungry so I got a wedge salad with salmon. My friend got steak tips and broccoli and instead of mashed potatoes got extra veggies. We both got a drink. This place was delicious! Everything tasted sooo good! The Grilled Steak Pizza was a favorite for sure! So good with the focaccia crust! Service was great and timely. Our server was sweet! Went for an early dinner on a weeknight, so it wasn't too packed. Great drinks also! It had a great vibe and I appreciated the decor. Very modern but also fun! lol this place is funny in many ways. I would avoid if you want to save your money and time. I'm serious! If I could pay you to take your money elsewhere I would. For starters the restaurant is oddly placed in what many would consider a "rough" neighborhood, I'm fine with it, but the issue with its placement, for me is parking availability and others may be concerned for their safety and the overall ambiance of the place. Its placement is literally like a castle in the middle of a swamp... it's misplaced. We were given a menu with food on it that no longer existed. They don't have sides or fresh vegetables available aside from their salads that are overpriced. We ordered the steak over tortellini (pesto sauce) and salmon sushi. lol it's so funny the lady to our right and to our left also ordered the steak over tortellini and we noticed they didn't touch it. I thought maybe they weren't hungry or it was too much food, so I went ahead and ordered it. Come to find out it's oddly sweet and you can't taste a lick of flavor, I kid you not. It was horrible. The steak was chewy and didn't pair well with the tortellini. I couldn't order sides cause again, they don't do that. lol . The salmon sushi was fairly ok , so I guess I'll give them that. A gem on Admiral street. This well-designed, attractive restaurant maximizes its space. I love how the second floor overlooks the first floor. The speakeasy in the basement is very cozy. The service is excellent. Karissa was top notch. The pear martini was made to perfection. Wow, what a letdown. I was super excited to come here with friends but let me tell you it wasn't a pleasant experience. I will say the space is beautifully decorated and they have ample parking. We ordered the street corn dip and the buffalo calamari to start with some drinks. The drinks were nicely made but the appetizer size was extremely small. There was too much buffalo cause on the calamari. The corn dip tasted like a cheap queso with corn on top. Then we placed food orders to only be told that the wrong menu was distributed to everyone in the restaurant and we needed to pick new items. This led us to leaving because we weren't please with those options. Here is where it gets worse. We go to the valet and there is one person ahead of us (We had 2 cars with our group). The people driving pull out the wrong car that didn't belong to anyone waiting. Then they took the cars of newly arriving guests and blocked in our cars. Then they pull out another car and leave MY KEYS IN THAT OTHER CAR. They notice my keys are in someone elses car and have to quickly go after them to get my keys. What would have happened if they didn't notice in enough time or the other car didn't stop or if I wasn't there? Not to mention they took our cars in the wrong order so people who were waiting got taken care of after others. it was just a mess. Tried Strive after a recommendation from a friend. Made reservations but ended up sitting at the bar...service was friendly, the cocktails were good... But unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. Started with appetizers, and were told they were out of deviled eggs and stuffed mushrooms, okay. Ordered calamari and brussel sprouts. Found out shortly after, that, surprise, they're also out of calamari. Ordered truffle fries instead. The brussel sprouts were good, but not crispy as advertised and the truffle fries were not very good, a strange wedge curly fry situation. Anyway, on to dinner... Pink vodka pizza was horrible....possibly the worst pizza I've ever had, bland, mushy, not good at all. I was also told the burger was not good. Will not be returning, nor recommending this place to anyone. I hope they work on their food quality. Additionally, location is odd, parking lot is hard to find, and there are some sketchy things happening in the parking lot, such as blatant drug use. read more

Food was incredible. Went for the Lord of the Wings and they were very very good. Same with the calamari. For my main course I got the carne asada tacos. Genuinely might have been the best tacos i've had in a restaurant. I also tried some of the hot honey focaccia pizza and that was also phenomenal. My dad got the steak pasta dish and the steak was cooked perfectly. Place was also very cool on the inside. Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! I was really blown away by the aesthetic interior and even more blown away by how incredible the food was! We came here for brunch on a Saturday (also a plus, that brunch isn't just on Sunday) and enjoyed bottomless mimosas, different food options and relaxed. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Reservations recommended, we used Open Table. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there didn't seem to be a designated parking area and it is on a main road. I was drawn to this restaurant because of the speakeasy. But as it happens we wound up going early and the speakeasy wasn't open yet. But the dinner was so delicious! The atmosphere is chic and modern. They have a fun drink menu to pick from. I got the truffle mushroom rigatoni with sausage. So good! My husband got the wagyu beef burger and he loved it. And our waitress so so sweet. Attentive with great suggestions. Very genuine. We'll definitely be back for a late night at the speakeasy. I'll start off by saying the space is beautifully decorated and has multi level seating which I thought was really nice. Bathrooms all have a theme which I appreciated and were very clean. Ample parking around back which was huge given the area doesn't have much street parking. The food was good but I think the menu was a little overpriced for what you got. Paid almost $30 for the charcuterie board and I didn't think they gave enough variety of cheeses or meats and very little at that. No complaints about the calamari I thought that was excellent and my drink was good but nothing to really rave about. Server was very nice and as very knowledgeable about the menu. The host also was pleasant and came around and asked how everything was. They have a speakeasy in the basement which I just loved. Loved the music and the decor but I'm not sure of too many people know about it yet because it was empty besides us and another couple. But it's definitely a cool spot to check out. I came to check this place out on a Thursday night. It was pretty empty when we got there but later in the night the bar filled up. This is where you get cute and go out for a drink and app. You may not be blown away by the food, but you may be blown away by the interior design - they did a great job laying this place out. They have 3 floors with a sexy speak easy on the bottom floor. They have friendly staff, great service and all the spots to take pics. The experience + aesthetic was a 10/10 with the food + drinks being 7/10. read more

This is a local go to for us whether we sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers, or bring family that's visiting. The art and the ambience is fantastic. brunch - Good stuff: 1. Son's cinnamon toast chicken & waffle looked amazing! 2. Hubby's omelet was also loaded with veggies. 3. Blood orange mocktail was delish! Problems: 1. Poached eggs were almost solid. Pretty to look at but not poached. More like soft/hard boiled. 2. Why were several items on the menu for one price (omelet & classic), but then were charged to us as a dollar or two more? 3. And why does the "classic" say it comes with sausage or bacon, then there's a $2 upcharge for bacon? -The nickel and diming was a turn off and seems like a scam. If it hadn't been fathers' day, I would have made more of an issue of it, but I didn't want to ruin the day. We won't be back just because of the shady pricing. read more

We hosted an anniversary party and communication and planning with management Cam, Joe and Olivia was seamless. Also Cameron and Carina were amazing servers. They helped us set up and clean up and were very efficient to help serve our party of 40 people! Not really sure this review is fair since it was their first night open ( Soft Opening) but I really enjoyed myself and everyone was so friendly, that I thought I would share. Got to go because my friend has been working on the restaurant for 2+ years to help get it open. We got their early for our reservation and sat at the bar for a drink. First off, restaurant is very impressive inside. Black & White is the theme and it really does look nice. I would call the inside; casual elegance. At the bar we ordered "fries in a bag" which were delicious. My friend loved the dip that came with it. The 2 bar tenders were very nice and personable. When we sat we ordered dinner. I got a Chicken Ceaser salad which was very good. My friend ordered a falafel which he really enjoyed too. After dinner my friend gave me a tour of the small bar in the basement . Overall I want to go back and try the pizza or possibly the ShortRibs which both looked so good. The only concern I have is the parking. You had to go to the back of the restaurant down some side streets for the valet parking. Hopefully they change that and have valet out front. Looking forward to going back. read more

This place is a disgrace! My daughter was served a dish made with cashew oil after she told them 2x she had a tree nut allergy, she was assured it was not free! She went into anaphylactic shock. She was vomiting in the bathroom, no one called 911 or checked on her. The manager hid in the back. Then had the nerve to still charge her friends for the bill! She spent the next 6 hours in the hospital. I called the owner today, and he was disrespect, rude and dismissive! The resturant needs to be shut down! The staff clearly is not trained well to run a restaurant! The next time a mistake is made like this, the outcome could be fatal! read more

We don't usually send drinks back but I was very happy a different bartender took over the task. Thumbs up. The bolognese was awful to say. So we went on a Tuesday at 6:00, there was no one there and we were sat right away. We didn't get our order taken for another 15-20 minutes. We then waited for our food for 45 minutes. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it came out with the rest of the food. The mushroom rigatoni was good, the salmon alright, but the baked four cheese was horrendous. It seemed as if it was a can of tomatoes poured on top of pasta with cheese melted on top, nothing came together as a cohesive dish, there was even some pasta water that filled the shells. Went to strive as a party of 2 on a weeknight. As noted in previous reviews, yes parking and signage are lacking. We showed up on time for our 7:30 reservation and we waited at the host stand for a few minutes before a hostess came by, who informed us our table wasn't ready yet but invited us to sit at the bar while we waited. My friend ordered the smoky Negroni and he was informed about 5 minutes later that they were out of mezcal which was the main component. The drinks were tasty once we got them and the bartenders friendly, but clearly lacked some basic training (one of them seemed to be referencing a recipe throughout) and took about 15 minutes to make 2 drinks on a fairly quiet night. Once we were seated, we probably sat for about 15 minutes before our waitress came by. Our waitress was very sweet but seemed frazzled and again lacking in training - no fault of her own but clearly a management issue. Many of the staff are young and it seemed like it was everyone's first night on the job with no management in sight. We were told at the bar our tab would be transferred to our check at the end of the night, however we noticed they hadn't added the drinks so had to ask for them to be added so they could get paid. Pros: the food was pretty good and it was a cool space with a nice vibe. Cons: poor service, lack of training, and long waits (we were there for about 2 hours). Definitely want this place to succeed but they really need to improve service in order for me to return. read more

I ordered the bottomless Mimosa which I loved but unfortunate in my hour and 40 minute brunch I got 3 as service was too slow. Our waitress was not attentive and the food took forever. Again 2 hour brunch for three people, three simple entrees and 9 drinks total. The parking is also annoying. I was really excited for a place offering Saturday brunch but I won't be back. Had the sticky toffee cake and a mocktail and that toffee cake took me to heaven!! It's warm with vanilla gelato and it's the best dessert I have had in a long time!!! I made an 11:45am reservation for brunch and ended up leaving before being seated. Upon arrival, we entered from the parking lot and were greeted with the bar with no hostess stand. After taking a peek and rounding the corner we found the host stand empty and chatted for a few minutes while waiting to be greeted. After about five minutes we grew uneasy as we were looking to the waiter who had walked by multiple times while tending to her tables to atleast acknowledge us. Finally a man appears, clearly the MIA host, and asks if we have a reservation. I confirm we do and proceed to give him the details. He looks at whatever screen is behind the stand and whips his cell phone out to take a mystery call. After waiting for a few rings for the mystery person to pick up this mystery call to no avail, the host looks at us and says it'll just be five to ten minutes and that he is waiting on a few tables. Me and my friend look at eachother with worried eyes. Finally, he hangs up the phone and confirms it'll just be another five minutes until a table is ready....right. Let me point out that our reservation had started fifteen minutes ago at this point. We ended up deciding to leave in an effort to not be further disappointed with our saturday brunch plans.
