The installer damaged the closet door, he didn't even reinstall it!Sadly this occurred during my out of town chemo treatments and our house sitter didn't know to check the installation. The sales and installation team are great. They took time to answer our questions and lead us through the various options as we chose our LVP flooring. The installation techs were great. They even adjusted their installation progress a little to allow me to touch up the paint when we decided the new baseboards would be lower than the old ones. La Mesa Flooring has a great selection of flooring options I don't know how the prices compare to other retailers. The flooring is much nicer then the big box stores. We chose a vinyl and hardwood hybrid called WSPC ZODIAC in the color Taurus. I love the color and we get many compliments on the flooring. However it easily scratches and dents. Overall we are pleased with the look of the installation. There are parts that have started to moved apart. I thought maybe this was weather related no just poor installation in a few areas. Jorge and Richard were very nice and great when they could be there. What was done underneath the flooring I'm not really clear. We had the house tested for asbestos as recommended and opted for encapsulation. We were told the tile in the kitchen will be removed and then given multiple excuses of why it couldn't be removed so we ended up with a slight dip even though we paid a ton of money for leveling we were told that's the best they can do especially since they only removed part of the old flooring. We really couldn't get a straight answer from anyone and didn't feel like they were being honest. If I do business again or recommend La Mesa Flooring I would advise to do more research and compare prices and process. Get a second opinion if you need regarding floor prep. Also I would take pictures and ask the installer to explain each step so you know they are doing what you paid for. There really isn't any transparency, supervision, or accountability you have to ask or keep track of the amount of materials being used. Mark would not provide prices until he measured and when I signed the estimate he asked me to waive the 3 day cancellation. Which you shouldn't have to but now that you know the prices you may go else and find a better deal. With a complicated project you should get other bids. I felt they oversold and under delivered for $20k+ on 1200 sqft home. Mark's recommendations for asbestos/encapsulation were old and his handyman was a rip off. Just remember to take your time and do your research before going with La Mesa Flooring. Also never got a copy of the final itemized bill I requested. read more

A neighbor suggested we check out La Mesa Flooring to look at tile. While there, we noticed they were having their Spring Sale on carpeting, which we had in the back of our minds to replace.... someday. After meeting their sales rep Dylan, he showed us lots of samples and went over both the advantages of their products and the current promotions. (their prices were very competitive with the big-name carpet stores and the major home centers, with much more personalized service) Dylan was terrific to work with, a truly nice guy with no pressure; after we made the decision to go forward with the carpeting, he helped us choose upgraded padding (at no additional charge), and scheduled the installation for after we had extensive painting done in the rooms to be carpeted. The installers they contracted with were excellent; reliable, careful and conscientious about not scuffing newly painted walls and baseboards. We couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. Now we need to go back and choose some tile ;) read more

Called to find out if this store was open (since a closer local flooring store was closed) and a gal answered the phone right away. We were looking for a specific vinyl flooring that Home Depot and Costco did not have. Took a little bit to find the model number online but were able to get a quote right away. For reference we called another store farther away (Coles) and they did not return our call same day as promised and after a return call, still took a while for them to call us back. We wanted to support somewhere local and had a better customer experience at La Mesa Flooring. The store is very nice and feels very clean. We also received prompt updates with our flooring ship status from the employee who helped us. Would recommend! read more

We bought a 100 year old house that seemed to have nice hardwood floors, but not long after moving in, it became quite clear that they were disintegrating. We contacted four different companies. First came the "hardwood whisperer" who used Mr. Miyagi wax on wax off motions claiming to be the crazy one who could actually sand and finish one more time. All subsequent companies Poo pooed that idea. Then came the company that seemed to only do manufactured wood. Then La Mesa with Dylan heard us, saw the house and agreed that it deserved to be historically restored with full hardwood. The final company that came made some strange recommendations that I don't remember. The process of selecting wood and finish was quite the process and the worker doing the project and Dylan were very collaborative. When it was discovered that our sub flooring needed help, we went with sheets of 3/4" plywood which essentially eliminated all squeaks and reduced the sound of walking in the lower level of the house. Good call! The finished product is amazing. And we are very happy we went with this company. I don't want to say some extra things they did, but they didn't complain when we needed some extra things done to finish the project. When weighed against the 80 years the floors could last, the price was well worth it. read more

I decided to go with La Mesa Flooring Co. because they have been in business for over 80 years and the feedback from their customers was very positive. Everything is in-house so you don't have to hire an outside contractor . I put in Wide Plank Luxury Vinyl. They did a terrific job, and were very carful with my furniture . They cleaned up each day before they left. The demo and tile guys were very nice. When my refrigerator was pulled out there was a water leak from my ice maker which I was unaware. It had over time saturated the drywall. Dylan came out to check out the problem to make sure it could be fixed so they could continue the flooring. My son-in-law fixed it and they inspected that it was okay to continue. I am very happy that they made sure everything was done right. The floor is beautiful! The floor went down in a timely fashion and looks very nice. The guys were a little on the loud side laughing, singing, talking kinda of messing around a little. It was a bit disturbing. They were a little lax about moving things. My husband actually moved some of the furniture the day before. We were pretty excited and happy about this company and job until the owner called to tell us he wanted an additional $165. when we were already spending close to $10 just because they moved the fridge on their own for some reason. That has left me feeling a bit deflated about this company. I wouldn't recommend going to them after that. Just be careful if you guy to them that they asked for additional money even though we had a contract. read more
