Mark met with us on a Saturday, and said he would have the quote to us by Monday. By Wednesday nothing, so I called and spoke with someone at their office. He assured me I would be getting a quote asap. The next day I texted Mark and he said he didn't have the right email but would send it the next day since he was off that day. My sister highly recommended so I didn't hesitate calling. Unfortunately, their MO was not acceptable to me so take heed! The sales rep Mark evidently has been instructed on how to handle prospective clients. 1) Do not reveal the material cost, 2) do not reveal the measurement cost ($50. non refundable) until AFTER the client has booked 3) do not give the client any of the measurements once we have obtained. Mark told me this tactic prevents the customer from going elsewhere. I end up with a reputable company who provided transparency and an excellent product at a far less cost. Another reviewer stated La Mesa Floor only works with high end customers. So if money is no problem, then you most certainly should contract with LaMesa Floor and of course, ask for Mark. read more

La Mesa Flooring recently installed carpeting in our granny flat. The one they wonderfully installed 16 years ago wore out after 4 tenants. So we called them without going to another vendor. The sales rep came out, measured, and told us about flooring options. He sent two proposals for two types of flooring. We went with carpeting again. Excellent price. In store personnel we dealt with were also great. Quality of carpet is superb. Installer did an outstanding job. He had to make a large number of cuts due to the floor plan of the granny flat so that it would fit seamlessly perfectly. It does due to his hard work. We recently had flooring installed and while experiencing a few minor hiccups, the job was done, done quickly, and done to my satisfaction. My sales person was Ralph Comer and he was a delight to work with. It was all down hill once the installers got there. The foreman was there only half the time and the rest of the team couldn't do anything without his direction. I was charged for furniture they moved saying they needed it done to continue working that day then they all left for the day. The final straw was them leaving me with no toilets and thank goodness for Ralph because he came and put my toilet in for me. I kicked the crew out of my house and Eric sent a new crew the next day and they were amazing. They did more work in one day than the others did in 4. All this being said my floors are beautiful and they did try to make it better but I hope these last and I don't have to do it again. We'd seen the business many time before due to the fact we live a short distance away. We ended up having La Mesa Flooring update the flooring in my house. We used La Mesa Flooring to install hardwood floors in our house. We spent a couple of months deciding on the particular flooring. We brought home many large samples which they were happy to loan to us. They were informative, but never pressured us. They came to our house to measure and gave us a detailed estimate. We finally decided on some high-end flooring which was difficult and labor-intensive to install. The installer was a highly-skilled craftsman. The final product is spectacular. Absolutely 5-star service from buying in the showroom to insulation. We had some unique challenges with our carpet install and Jose (The Installer) did an absolutely perfect job. He was great to talk to and explained some of the challenges with our carpet and house. I could not be more impressed. David came the first day to work on our floors in the two bedrooms, he worked really hard ALL DAY to finish the rooms so that everything else would be done the next day. He had to grind down the concrete so that it was even before he could start to lay the flooring so it was a lot of work!!!He was very friendly and professional. We received estimates for our whole home flooring project from 3 companies and La Mesa Flooring was our first choice. Pricing was reasonable and competitive. This was because of the product knowledge and recommendations made by their designer (Mark). The total workmanship exceeded our expectations (Eric and Ivan). The workers were always on time and completed the project by the agreed upon time. They kept us informed as to the process along the way. The carpeting manufacturer originally sent the incorrect carpet style (carpet roll was mislabeled in the factory). La Mesa Flooring resolved the problem quickly by working with the manufacturer area rep, having the correct carpet expedited from the east coast. During this process, we were able to continue to live in our home as they completed the LVP in our living spaces and carpeting in the bedrooms. My bathroom suffered a water incident because of a loose bolt on the commode. After the floor removal and drying I needed something nice to have put down. Peggy helped me in the store and came to my home to see the area and gave me suggestions as to which sample would look best. Their flooring team put down underlayment and then the floor. There was an issue with how the flooring met the hall carpet. Eric came by to look and then sent his best carpet person, Ralph, to fix it. During the process I made several called to Peggy and Eric and was never made to feel anything but a valued customer. I was excited to redo my floor and to use a local business for this. I knew what I wanted when I went into the storefront on 03/22, talked to the staff there who showed me other products. I stuck with wanting the tile I had originally chosen. I asked for a price quote and then was set up with Mark who scheduled an appointment to measure my dining room on 03/25. Less than an hour before the 03/25 appointment, Mark left a message that it is premature for him to measure my room as I don't know when I want to proceed with the new floor?! Customers do not get more decisive than I was, (knowing what I wanted, identifying the tile in their store, telling them about my existing flooring, asking for a price quote & official measurement). I replied with a message indicating my confusion about why he did not keep the appointment. A week later... and nothing---no call, no e-mail. A complete opposite of the customer service the other reviewers have experienced. I'm sure glad I have so many other options . read more
