The mojito was great. Not too sweet and you can taste the mint. My husband got the Oaxaca old fashion which he said was good. The ceviche's presentation looked disappointing but the flavors made up for it. The sauce was very flavorful and complimented the mahi mahi very well. My husband said it was the best ceviche he's ever had For entrees I got the 10 oz picanha. They actually give you two pieces of steak and I took the other one home. It was cooked perfectly to a medium rare with great smokiness. The green beans were a little salty. The yuca was good. My husband liked the filet but I think the picanha was better. Came for happy hour with friends. We tried all the dishes for happy hour. Our sever was very attentive. The ambulance is nice. Great spot for date night or ladies night. The shrimp was great. A friend of mine told me months ago how amazing this restaurant is. I definitely wish I had checked it out sooner! We planned an early Valentine's date for a recent Friday evening. I highly recommend reservations for dinner - the restaurant is not that big and it was packed. They maximize space too - very little room to wait for your table if the weather is not ideal. We were seated close to our reservation time and quickly greeted to ask for drink orders. Service was prompt and polite but our server wasn't very engaging or friendly. He just did what he was there to do. We ordered drinks and the ceviche appetizer. My Malbec was outstanding - one of the best I've had. Hubby had a draft IPA from Wasserhund. The ceviche was good and a large portion for 2. For entrees, I had the grilled chicken and hubby tried the filet. After a bite of his, I wish I had ordered that! We had a reservation at 3:30 for Valentine's day and got there about 10 minutes early but we were seated right away. The atmosphere was interesting. It presents as a fancier restaurant, but the walls did not match (if that makes any sense). We were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour. The food was amazing and came out so quickly. The steak and chicken were so juicy. The roasted potatoes definitely needed some salt and pepper but once that was added it was fine. Wow!! We just happened to be in the area one Saturday and were hungry. So of course, YELP it is! We got super lucky stumbling onto this place. We wanted steak, and this looked really interesting. Hubby always gets a Caesar, and most are pretty standard. But this?! He was blown away. Instead of croutons, they use panko crumbs on top of a whole romaine head. The flavor was outstanding! Definitely homemade dressing. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and Hubby had the NY Strip with fries. My filet was a perfectly cooked mid-rare and those mashed potatoes were so fluffy. I could have eaten a bucket of them! The Strip was the perfect rare, which isn't easy to do correctly. What really sets things apart though are the homemade sauces that accompany the steak. One is a chimmichuri which was perfectly balanced. The other blew my mind! It tastes garlicky, and finishes with a little pleasant heat (I am not a fan of spicy hot). Come to find out it's all a blend of peppers. No garlic at all. Just WOW! And as if the experience couldn't get any better, they have crème brûlée on the menu (our favorite!). Came here to try their Frenched pork chop as I was craving pork chops as usual. I saw this place had great reviews so I decided to try it. I just need a main dish as I had salad to eat at home. I phoned in my order and ordered it with roasted potatos, green beans, and added mushroom and onions after the order taker offered it. The order was ready in about 20 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is kind of dark but it looked like a more fancy bar/gastropub setting. I paid for my order near the bar area and my order was bagged within a few minutes. When I received the take out bag, I immediately was disappointed that it wasn't heavier. When I got home, I realized what they lacked in volume was made up for my taste. The pork chop was perfectly cooked, the sauces that came with the dish were amazing, the green beans were deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked. Nearly perfect in every way. We arrived during happy hour and had a fantastic meal with some very nice discount prices. (The Happy Hour menu is not posted on the website for the Chesapeake location, but it appears to be the same as for the Virginia Beach restaurant.) The ambience is classy, not pretentious, and still comfortably casual. I loved the video images of a roaring fire on the large flat screen TVs mounted over the bar: it gave the dining area a real "steakhouse" atmosphere. We were seated at a two-top with very comfortable barrel-style chairs. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative and there are many good wine options, as well. Complimentary house-made chimichurri and a spicy pepper condiment were placed on the table shortly after we were seated. One recommendation is that the ramekins have saucers underneath them to catch spills. Some olive oil from the chimichurri spilled as it was being placed on the table and it spread over several inches until we blotted it with a cocktail napkin. Steamed mussels were served in a divine white wine and bleu cheese sauce. (We needed to use our bread plates for the empty shells which was slightly awkward.) The mussels came with a few slices of toasted bread, tasty but not enough to soak up all the luscious sauce that was left behind when the mussels were finished. These should be served with a spoon to further enjoy the sauce. We made-do with empty mussel shells until our servers brought us spoons. The mahi-mahi ceviche was also fantastic, topped with finely slivered pickled red onion and sliced avocado in a creamy sauce; this should come with a spoon, as well! The sauce is way too good to waste! Our filets were perfectly cooked at a medium rare doneness, and they were seasoned well before grilling. The mashed potatoes were deliciously savory and buttery. The side of asparagus consisted of the thinnest baby asparagus spears I have ever been served. A few of them were a little woody but they were still delicately seasoned and tasty. I tried a side of boiled yucca: the vegetable itself lacks flavor, but it came with the aforementioned shredded red onion and finely diced pickled red peppers that made the dish more savory. The pepper and chimichurri condiments helped, as well. Finally, the creme brûlée desert was expertly brûléed at our table by our server, Joan who was extremely polite, courteous, and attentive for the entire meal. We discovered this restaurant first in Virginia Beach as we are residents of Chesapeake. We were super ecstatic to have them come over here to Chesapeake. There was such a hole in the market when it came to restaurants, especially Latino restaurants I am Argentine and I so appreciate this restaurant. It's a blend of all different Latino flavors. The ambience is Casual chic . The service is top-tier up there with all upscale steakhouses. The drinks are mixology quality and good!
