A novelty place. There's room for counter seating up to 13 people. Decor includes sneakers and toy Grogu and contemporary paintings. Music over PA system is loud. I came around 40 mi it's before 7pm closing on a Wednesday early evening. They have 2 kiosks for you to order to go or dine in. The place is empty, hoping it's not telling of the food! I ordered shrimp po boy to go. It was ready in what felt like 7 minutes. Self-serve to bag your order. Will see how this will hold up until I get home! I have really been dying to try this place out as a lot of a lot of of the locals have gone and a lot of the influencers have talked about it so I found myself. Wondering downtown North. Look for lunch. Decided to pop in with a little disappointed because a lot of the stuff that's really wasn't available. Which kind of hurt my feelings but Service is great. I didn't expect it to be a small as it was, but he hit the spot for what I need it. I ended up getting a fried short basket along with the streaming and hush puppies. What I choose cause I'm not really big on a lot of carbs, but I noticed one thing it looked like they had taken yesterday stream beans and added it with fresh today. String beans. We'll see it in the picture. They weren't his flavorful. I expected them to me. They were kind up on the blind side, but the shrimp had a nice flavor to it. Underwhelmed. Went out of my way to come here. Small, quaint facilities. The tables that were clean were broken. The tables that weren't broken were dirty. Had to asked person who brought food out to clean off the bar. Orders catfish, baked beans and green bean. Salty! Nasty. Never again. We should do better for our people. read more

It's somewhat a take out spot as it's not a whole lot of seatings. When you walk in, you go to the kids to place your order. There's a staff visible so you can ask for help with the menu if you have any questions. I ordered the oxtails taco and it was so yummmy!!! The meat was flavorful and soft. They had crunchy onions and it took this dish to the top! I also tried the seafood combo with shrimp, catfish and whiting. It was all seasoned well, not too salty. Get their mambo sauce straight from DC and the homemade cocktail sauce. It compliments any of the dish very well. As a fellow service member and my husband a veteran, we wanted to check this place out to support a fellow veteran. We also saw it had good reviews. Overall the food was good. I was hoping a little bit more meat though on the oxtail sandwich. To be honest, it was more gravy than oxtail meat. The Cajun fries were amazing. The place was extremely small. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to eat there so the food didn't get cold by the time we made it home to Chesapeake. But the place was just too small to be comfortable. Most seats were also taken. We will definitely come back here again to try out other things on the menu, but probably won't get the oxtail sandwich again. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended by locals. When I first entered I almost left due to limited seating that included bar stools and having to order via a kiosk. There is a to go option however as tourists we didn't want to take fried fish back to the air bnb. All orders must be placed on the kiosk and the menu does not really match the menu online. Besides alcohol all other drinks are served in a can and I did not see any water bottles options. We ordered the shrimp po boy and a catfish filet. I looked for the kids meal options on the kiosk but they were not there. After speaking with the employee she did honor my request and gave us a kids chicken tenders meal. The food was great they had so many tasty options that my friend and I didn't know what to choose from. I ended up deciding on the shrimp basket with double fries and she tried the Rasta pasta. All I have to say is the food was so good that I'll be recommending it to family and friends. The place is small but the ambiance is nice since they play movies and chill music that makes you forget you're waiting on food lol (wait was about 20 but you wait that long at restaurants so it makes sense lol). The service was awesome, as the guy in charge of the place constantly checked up on us and made sure we were ok and if we needed any help. I'd definitely recommend this as a spot to pick up food. They were all out of mumbo sauce which was a bit of a bummer but I'll hopefully get to try it my next visit. read more

I had the oxtail taco and it was absolutely amazing--tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Easily one of the best tacos I've had in a long time! The seasoning was spot on, and each bite just melted in my mouth. On top of the great food, the customer service was excellent. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to add a bit of shredded cabbage on top of the taco--it would give a nice crunch and a fresh contrast to the rich oxtail. This a great place for southern seafood! I had the fried flounder basket. The fish was fresh, the breading was light and it was fried perfectly. The sides were good and it came with two hush puppies. This is a small place with limited seating and the it operates like a take out place, you place your order through a kiosk. The service was quick and pleasant. The food was delicious (orders of Cat fish and Whiting fish with Green Beans and Baked Beans), seasoned well. This was my first time visiting this establishment. I ordered the chicken strip basket and fries, with the baked beans. The baked beans and fries was good, but the chicken strips were small like nuggets and tasted like it was cooked in old grease. For 14.99 he could have provided whole chicken strips. I sent it back and replaced it with the oxtail sandwich which was delicious. The issue was the excessive cost for a mini oxtail sandwich and fries for 27 dollars and you pay separately for a bottled soda. Overall this establishment was a nice environment, but too expensive for the food being served. The customer service was excellent. Just my opinion. read more
